My sister wanted to make a birthday plate before her daughters first bday and asked us sisters to come make something too. We came around 6 and left at 9:30pm and easily could've stayed for three more hours. This place is super clean, has an artsy studio set up. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They have way too many options (which is problematic for someone like me because I wanna do them all haha). There are stencils, tape, literally all kinds of tools to help you create your masterpiece. They even have finished color swatches so you can see what you'll end up with, which I appreciated. They lay out the prices for each piece on the shelf so there are no surprises. There's a $15 paint fee then the cost of your item (most average about $26). Their pricing is absolutely worth it in my opinion. I came across this place on Tiktok and am glad I came in to try it for myself. I've passed by the Roseville location for years but never knew it was a ceramic painting place. I came in during a weekday afternoon and was able to decompress. Their pottery item selection is pretty versatile and the employees are very helpful if you need any assistance. I love that they have a "stay as long as you want" policy and I was told you can also bring your item home and come back another time to finish if needed too. Most of the pottery items range from about $22+. Considering it is a women owned + local small business, I am all for supporting it. My daughter has been begging me for weeks to take her to one of these ceramic painting places so while spending time with my nieces on Saturday, we decided to check out Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge. Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge is located inside the Pavilions on Fair Oaks Blvd next to Piatti. We walked inside and it was pretty busy, but they had plenty of space and lots of seating. We put our names in and they told us it would be about an hour before we would be able to sit and paint - so we walked around and checked out all of the ceramic options available. They had so many cute options from bowls, to mugs, to piggy banks, to jewelry boxes to platters - I could go on and on! All ranging in different sizes and pricing! For the 4 of us, we decided on a cute set of Valentine's Day gnomes, a fairy jewelry box, a donut jewelry box and a big cafe mug. All paints, paintbrushes, stencils, etc. are included in the painting fee which is $15 per adult and $13 per child. Between the 4 of us and all of our choices, it was just shy of $200 so you're looking at roughly $50 a person which is a lot, but you also don't have a time limit on how long you can stay and with our party of 4, I think we were close to almost 2 hours. Once you are done painting, they will take your ceramic and it will go in the kiln during the week. You will need to come back on whatever day they tell you for pick up - for us, it is this Wednesday after 4pm. Overall, we had a great time at Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge! This is perfect for a birthday party, Sunday Funday or even a date night. We will absolutely be returning soon! I highly recommend making a reservation though if you can! read more

So happy my friend introduced me to this place! They have a huge selection of pieces to paint! I love that they have more than just figurines, everything from trinket dishes to vases/planters. The staff were all so friendly, they never made us feel rushed (and we were there for hours) they gave us clear instructions and were always there for us to ask questions and help on providing tips/techniques. They had tons of color options, brushes, stencils, and supplies. Great space, perfect for birthday parties, special reservations. Such a fun activity! I LOVED this spot. I went for a little birthday pit stop and was so excited when I saw all of the variety of choices they offered for their ceramics. The staff were so so friendly and helpful. They even pulled out an elephant from the back upon request (we weren't even expecting them to have one!). I ended up painting a pen holder for my work desk, and my boyfriend made a little frog. It took us about 2 hours to paint our items and the staff made sure to check in on us and replace any used supplies/water. The place is very very clean. It's practically spotless. It was about $80 for both of our pieces and they were available for pick up 5 days later. Will definitely visit again! read more

I have been a regular customer at the Petroglyphs in Roseville located on Douglas Blvd since 2016 even though I have visited as early as the late 1990's. During this time we have come to know the Manager Jen who is now the Director of Operations overseeing all of their stores including this one plus Roseville, Los Gatos, Santa Cruz, San Jose. Jen invited us to come check out this long awaited new location that just opened this week. It is located behind the Pavilions center next to Mikuni. You can't see it from the street as its a little tucked away. From the outside it doesn't look like much but when you walk inside, it is oh so beautiful! First, it is a paint your own ceramics studio. It is not a place where you throw your own pottery. The pieces are bisque and ready to paint. They have everything from knick-knacks to functional pieces for your home at every price range but figure an average of $25 per piece. You pay a $15 studio fee plus the price of your piece(s). The fee includes free reign to use their paint, brushes, tools, stencils, apron etc.. and the final glazing and firing. It takes about a week to be ready for pick up. If you are an "artist" and want to do something elaborate, you can take it home and bring it back to finish as often as you need without having to pay for a second studio fee as long as you do not start a new item on subsequent trips. Keep your receipt that will say work in progress. I suggest buying more than one item so that you have another one to work on while your 1st piece is drying. Not an artist? no worries. They have an exceptional experienced staff that can guide you and give you advice. All customers get a "paint talk" when they begin that shows you all the techniques. Plus there are samples all around to inspire you. You will be surprised that some techniques like marbling is pretty simple. Have a picture or idea? bring it. They can help you bring it to life. Now lets talk up the set up!! Its not terribly big but the space is wisely used. Everything is very modern from flooring to the pendant lights above the high tables. There is comfortable booth seating for large groups like you would see in a restaurant or modular tables that can put together to make one long one. My favorite part is the elevated seating area for small parties. There is also an area in the back for kids parties where parents have an "observation deck" bar seating to see their children but also have some quiet adult time far away enough from the action. How cool is that!! We like coming here to decompress, relax, talk and use our imaginations. It has a quiet peaceful atmosphere. This is not just a place to bring your kids, it is a great place for date night, girls outing, guys outing, corporate team building events, or anyone at any age who wants to try something new. They have gift cards that come in a form of a "gift tile" if you think of someone that would enjoy it or if you know someone that is not mobile or crowds might be too much, they have paint kits that you can take home and just bring back item to be fired when ready.
