In wanting to start new traditions with our new family , we wanted to paint birthday plates for ourselves. We were surprised by the variety of items one could paint! From plates to ornaments and mugs and more! We were also very impressed by the large variety of paint colors to choose from for our painting project. The staff were very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions regarding paint colors, the oven processes and when we should expect our items back. The studio feels very cramped, and the pieces are overpriced. Expect to pay fifty to sixty dollars or more for a modest item. The staff was inattentive, rarely replacing the dirty water or checking to see if we needed anything. Unfortunately, my husband's mug also did not hold up well. The glaze became dull after just a few months, even when washed on the top rack of the dishwasher. Next time, we will be going to Petroglyph in Roseville. read more

I was not expecting to pay $100 for my two young daughters to paint something. Glad my daughters were able to get the experience, as it was something I used to do a lot when I was younger, but it was just that. I brought my 7 year old granddaughter here for a fun activity and Color Me Mine did not disappoint. The staff was informative and helpful throughout the check in process and gladly answered any questions we had. 2nd time coming Price-can be pricey depending on what you pick Cat and squirrel with tip was $80ish Paying for -Art items-service from the Color Me Mine employee refilling your dirty water, getting more paint etc and firing your art. (Which takes estimated one week) BUT...You cannot put a price on your time with family. This was our granddaughters birthday time with us. So fun!! Well worth it!!! The end result was so good!!! Went out for a moms night out here. We had fun but I left feeling frustrated, and now even more frustrated. I reserved the "party space" which is just a larger table in the back of the room somewhat seperated by the shelf of ceramics. It's also listed you can bring cake, so I called and asked about food and drinks. They said yes but there wasn't really anywhere to put it. We had to ask the worker to clear a table for us. He happily did. I was displeased to hear all of my guests were charged not only for their piece but also an undisclosed gratuity even when I the host was charged a $20 gratuity for the party already. There was 8 of us total. They collected $4-5 gratuity from each of my guests around $55 total. It's listed in the party package that you receive a free commerative plate. We did not receive that either. Yes I should've said something that night but it was late and my baby was crying so I just wanted to get out of there. I decided to just let it go. Earlier in the night as I'm making my project I ask the worker if I use pencil that it will fire off, he says yes. So I used pencil to line out my letters. It didn't fire away. So now I have pencil lines behind all my letters. Just a little disappointing after working so hard and paying so much. read more

If I could give 0 s I would!! Came in with a friend to have a relaxing paint session after a long day, and were the only customers in. Owner was in with seemingly a manager giving this poor employee what seemed like an employee review, that was just not going well. The whole time we were in (about 40 minutes) the 3 of them were just fighting with each other in the middle of the shop. We expressed once that we were uncomfortable and could maybe leave, and the manager insisted we didn't, and moved us to the back of the store and just turned the music up. That did nothing to stop them, they just kept arguing loudly. Eventually, another 20 minutes went by, and we got checked on again, and we ended up leaving. I would not give this place your business, go to Petroglyph in Roseville, way more inviting energy where they don't embarrass their employees in front of customers!! I hope that poor girl quits. read more

First let me be clear that the one and ONLY employee working was very nice and friendly. She was great. However, my daughters and 4 year old grandson were very disappointed with the lack of products to paint. There are more finished pieces on display than products to paint. In addition, once we found out that we had to have the one and ONLY employee service our paint needs we left and went to Petroglyph on Douglas. The fact that you cannot get the paints you need and keep at your table while painting and having to continually ask for assistance is absurd. Petroglyph has tons of stock, tons of paints, brushes, stencils, etc. and guess what? They treat you like a grown up so you can get the supplies you need all by yourself! I took my two daughters to make their Dad a Father's Day present. Everything was so nicely organized, had all the props, stencils, paints, utensils/tools that we could possibly want. I was bummed when I realized the pieces would not be ready before Father's Day due to timing, but to my awesome surprise I got a call a couple days later and the wonderful Ladies said "your pieces are ready!!" My 4-year-old daughter and I had the best time at Color Me Mine on a rainy day. We spent about an hour and a half in the studio while my daughter painted two pieces of pottery. I can't remember the lady's name that was working that day, but she was awesome! She grabbed a cute little apron for my daughter and went through each step of cleaning the pottery and how to achieve the best color with the paint...Very attentive refilling my daughter's paint colors and there to help if needed! It took less than a week for glazing and firing- we picked up our pieces today and they are absolutely adorable! We will definitely be back. read more

First time here, was very pleasantly surprised with the attention from the workers and their helpfulness. I even brought my out of town family here. We had a great experience overall! So why the bad review?? We went on Friday (11/16) and our stuff was supposed to be ready on 11/21 at 6pm. We show up on time, at 6pm on 11/21on our way back out of town to pick up our items only to find out they weren't even done yet!! We were told to come back on Friday (11/23) and we were assured they would be ready. So we change our plans to leave town later than we planned to pick up our stuff on 11/23 only to find out AGAIN that they are not ready!! They claim that the only person who can fire the ceramics is sick. I'm confused why there is only one person in a company based on painting and delivering ceramics that can do the firing task. Completely unprofessional how they have handled this. I should have been contacted to let me know my stuff STILL was not ready or offered some sort of compensation. Neither was done and the employee handling us today seemed less than enthusiastic or sympathetic. read more

My bestfriend and I came here yesterday to have a fun artistic day. We showed up around 5 and when walked in I wasn't greeted by anyone as I went to we look at the ceramics I seen a lady in a apron so I said hello and got the faintest "hi" back. We were probably looking at the different ceramics on the display for 5 mins finally someone comes up us and asks if we are here to paint? In my head I'm thinking Um yea we are at color me mine what else would I be here for. She then proceeds to tell me they are having a party and we would have to be out be by 6 mind you it's 5:10 I'm not paying 40+ dollars to rush a paint job. I asked her if they would be taking up all the tables and she said "basically" it's either you need all of them or you don't. But I'm not gonna argue with the paint girl. She told us next time we need to reserve a table. Never in my 15 years of going to color mine have i ever reserved a table. If I'm being honest they both seemed overwhelmed and flat out like they just didn't want to deal with us. And on that note I'll take my happy coloring butt to the one in Folsom because clearly this staff in Rocklin doesn't work well under pressure. So if you want to paint and decide you want to paint don't come here or at least on the weekends you will get turned away even tho 30min after they told us that the studio was empty. read more

My first time at color me mine didn't go as we hoped. They didn't explain how to get the best results. You have to wipe the piece down with water and sponge provided, they didn't tell us this until we had already been working on them for a good 30 min. It wasn't very busy, yet they didn't have time to explain the process when we first sat down. When working on your piece they give you a little platter with colors, I had 5 very different colors. I asked for more on yellow and they girl put it on the green. I told here she put it on the wrong one and she just walked away. A week later we came to pick up, and they weren't ready. They told us pick up was Saturday after 6, we got there at 6:40. I was a little annoyed as they request your information, fist last name and phone number. We drove from antelope to Rocklin for nothing. When I asked why no one called us to let us know they wouldn't be ready they had no response. We spend a good $100 for just my husband and I, just wished they were a little more attentive. read more
