After Christmas sale shopping! Looong lines!
    Janiah S.

I love hobby lobby, the downside of that is-so do so many other people lol. The lines are long and do not move fast at all. But they have so much great stuff! That's why everyone is here! The downside I would say is the bathrooms. Could be because they are so busy, but it really just looks dirty and not checked on often enough. The door could use a good scrubbing and disinfecting. My advice is to avoid using restroom if you can.

10/22/2020: I need a very fine crochet hook for removing sweater snags, crochet tacking, crochet lace, and also, I needed a seam ripper repairing my clothes and repairing upholstery; ironically, Jo-Ann Fabrics didn't have in their inventory the tiniest crochet hook so, I had to make a special trip purchasing the crochet hook and seam ripper. Aside, this is the second Hobby Lobby I have visited: The first Hobby Lobby I've visited, its location is in Concord CA which took over the Tower Records Store and it's a newer construction building; whereas, I think this Roseville's Hobby Lobby is an older building and the square footage is smaller than the Concord's Hobby Lobby. The Roseville's inventory is repetitive; the upholstery material selection is slim and gaudy while the sewing material really doesn't have a vast selection.

This was the best message I saw all day!!

Very few birthday supplies or tablecloths. Tons of Christmas stuff but not what I was looking for. Not worth the drive.

My first visit was with my boyfriend, and we had a genuinely great experience. I made a reservation the day before for two small rugs, and there were plenty of time slots available. When we arrived, the session went smoothly. The space itself is a mix of rug tufting and deco-den, with around a dozen tufting stations and a large table in the center for other crafts. It is a bit tight, especially with merchandise displayed near the front, but it still felt fun and creative. The activity took longer than expected, but we had a great time trying something new. My only critique from that first visit was that instruction was pretty minimal. The staff gave us the basics but didn't go into much detail or offer many tips--we mostly figured things out ourselves as we went. Because of that positive first experience, I brought my sisters for a second visit, expecting something similar. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing and really highlighted major issues with customer service. We arrived around 1:45 PM on a Saturday as a party of three. The store was busier than my first visit, but not full--there were still about 8-9 open tufting stations, and online reservations were still available. When we walked in, we went straight to the register and waited about 5-10 minutes without any acknowledgment, despite making eye contact with two employees working up front. Eventually, one employee asked if we had been helped. When I asked about availability for three people, she responded bluntly, "Absolutely not... it's really busy," and told us to come back later or book online--then immediately turned away from us. This was confusing, given the visible open stations and available booking slots online. To test this, I stepped outside and booked a reservation for 2:30 PM--just 20 minutes later. While we were waiting outside, we could clearly see that same employee sitting at a tufting station working on what appeared to be her own personal project. At that point, it felt less like they were "too busy" and more like she simply didn't want to help us or clear her station. When we returned, a different employee (who was much more helpful) checked us in with no issue. Ironically, she had to ask that same employee to clean up her station so we could be seated--confirming that space had been available the entire time. I also overheard her mention that she "wasn't sure what to do," so she told us to come back later, which honestly just reinforced how dismissive the earlier interaction was. On top of that, we were seated in a very hot area with direct sunlight, even though there were other open spots. It made the experience uncomfortable, and while the staff did acknowledge the heat, it didn't seem like much effort was made to relocate us. To end on a positive note, our rugs turned out really cute--but that was mostly due to our own effort. The pricing is also something to consider: small rugs are $88+tax, and there's a $20 deposit per rug online. It also felt like tax was applied twice (once on the deposit and again on the final payment), which was frustrating. Overall, I think this is a fun experience to try at least once, especially if you're looking for something creative and different. However, the inconsistency in service--especially during my second visit--really left a bad impression. The staff came across as inexperienced and disengaged, and it didn't feel like customer experience was a priority. I probably wouldn't return and would look into other tufting studios in the Sacramento area instead.

Located at the upscale Fountains @ Roseville, this particular location has been in operation dating back to mid-2015. Surprisingly, this is a nationwide business with over 125 brick-and-mortar retail stores (as of 2025) but this is the one and only location in the greater Sacramento area. The overall layout and square footage of this place is a pretty decent size. During my visit which was on the afternoon of Sunday 7/27/2025 at around 3:30pm, there were about 2 employees that were helpful and greeted me as soon as I came in. They also have very generous hours of operation being open Monday through Saturday from 10am-8pm and Sunday from 10am-7pm. Not to mention, their website is very impressive with a ton of items that can't be found in their retail stores. Much of the merchandise found here specializes in greeting cards, journals, planners, wedding invitations, announcements, gift wrap, paper craft kits, party supplies, and much more. There are also a ton of novelty items that includes stuffed toys, mugs, and "themed" items depending on what season it is. I came here during the heart of summer so I saw a ton of beachy merchandise throughout the store. The best way to describe the products here is similar to what you will find in a Hallmark Store but on a much different scale. All in all, "Paper Source" is a great above-average alternative to your average arts & crafts store. I saw a ton of interesting merchandise for everyday use as well as products that are more novelty-based. With an eclectic and unique assortment of stationary products, I am giving Paper Source a respectable four-star rating.

Today I attended the lasagna class that I reserved back in December. Seating is limited, so you'll want to keep an eye on the website (and please don't take my spot, ). The class was held in the restaurant and was completely hands-on, comma, which I prefer. I don't wanna just watch someone online, dash, I wanna actually be part of the process and make the food for myself. For this class, the pasta dough was already prepared for us since making it from scratch would take too long, but we each rolled out our own pasta sheets and got them as thin as we wanted. Hand crank machine too. Fun. I've always wanted to do this. We made the bolognese sauce you see in the photos, while the pomodoro sauce had been prepared ahead of time. There were 12 of us total, paired into teams of 2, and everyone worked really well together. It was such a fun and lovely experience. We layered our lasagnas, sauce, pasta sheet, cheese, repeat. Properly done, easily three beautiful layers. I should have oiled the foil on top. Still delicious. Once they were in the oven baking, we all sat down together for salads and great conversation. We could also watch the chefs as they worked, which made the whole experience even better. It was a wonderful day and fantastic class. When our individual lasagnas came out of the oven, they were hot, golden brown, and absolutely beautiful. We were given boxes to take home whatever we didn't eat, and honestly, each lasagna is easily enough for two, maybe even three people. They do provide cardboard boxes, but I'd recommend bringing your own plastic container if you want something sturdier for leftovers. ** Their black plastic fold-over containers leak. I like clear lid snap. I'm home now and still enjoying the experience. While I was there, I also ordered to go their focaccia flight and a side of meatballs. So tonight I'm having that with a small salad and reliving what was such a wonderful, fun class. If you didn't know about the cooking classes before, now you do. And I'd also recommend checking out Sete Pasta House for dinner sometime.

My friend and I were there for a few hours, and we were enjoying ourselves until we went to the last vendor. The owners had a tray of moldavites sitting out on a tray, and they were rather large pieces. I was very surprised by this because these rocks can be very pricey and had been left out at the edge of the table. I love moldavite, and I picked up a couple of pieces to inspect them and even asked the owners their weight and price. I also asked them to weigh a few pieces I bought earlier that day from another vendor. Since the pieces on the tray were large, they were pricy, and I put them back. A few minutes later, I walked away but returned as my friend was still hanging out at the same booth. The owner walked up to me and asked, "Did you pocket that piece?". I was so taken aback, but immediately told him no. I even asked him if he would like to search my purse multiple times, but he refused. He then proceeded to check under the table. Again, I asked if he wanted to check my purse too, and he again said no. I even told him I was surprised that those pieces had been left out. He said that he trusted people... clearly not. After we walked away, my friend told me he asked her if I had stolen the piece when I left the booth initially. He didn't ask her if she had pocketed it herself even though she was standing right next to me with access to the same tray. I can't help but wonder if there was a bit of racism involved there, too, since I'm not white and my friend is. Additionally, they had signs everywhere on their booth saying patrons were being recorded... so why he didn't check his cameras before or after accusing me I can't say. The experience was extremely humiliating. We left the venue right after because our mood soured. I will not be going back.

I wasn't sure if they charged for parking and my email to the site didn't receive a response. So I decided to just check it out today. Parking was plentiful but they charged $5 to park. :( At least I saved on the $7 admission, right? It was a fun expo but definitely NOTHING compared to the International Gem and Jewelry Show in San Mateo. That one is worth going to. This one seemed....okay. It seemed like most of the beads were from China (as evidenced by the majority of the vendors being Chinese). But I know there is quite a difference between beads made in China versus Czech ones or Swarovski crystals. I did end up getting some Swarovski beads that weren't cheap, but the colors were lovely. While it was fun to visit today, I don't think I'd go back to this gem faire. Maybe if parking were free and with free admission, I'd go. But paying $12 (admission and parking) wouldn't be worth it, IMO. It just wasn't that big of a faire to warrant that admission fee.
