This Costco warehouse is near our relatives' house in Sacramento, so we usually stop here on our way back to pick up a few necessities. On this trip, we picked up groceries like meat (which is consistently good quality), avocados, and mandarins. As usual, my wife also found a couple of clothing items she liked. Prices for certain items tend to be lower than comparable ones in San Francisco, so we usually end up saving a few bucks. The store is well-stocked and organized, and the associates are friendly and helpful. During this visit, I was looking for a specific brand of coffee and couldn't find it (turns out I kept walking right past it). I asked an associate for help, and she kindly walked me over to it. This review has nothing to do with the customer service, but more of the nightmare of parking, flow/ store layout, self checkout kiosk. This Costco has more Asian products than I've seen at other local Costco's which I love but There are multiple issue with this location in my opinion . The gas station is always packed and once you get in, there's no turning back . You can barely even get into a lane. The self checkout in the store is on the very right hand side, and there's no direct aisle to it. Also, if the front right lane is open on the very right hand side, you can't get by any other customers to get to it, you have to go around through the left side and circle back. Multiple times at this location they haven't had any shopping carts available. I had to walk back out to the return stalls in order to grab one. Again, this Costco has great products and there's nothing wrong with the actual your actual store, employees, but the for mentioned really makes me hesitant to go to this location. read more

Came here the other night. It's getting close to CNY and have to check out the Asian stuff. Their lot is really big just like most of the Costco's so no problem finding parking. A lot of plants this time of year. Fruit trees and they sell them with fruit already growing on them. Wow they have Hibiki 30 year aged for $5549.99 which is 400 - 500 off the regular price depending where you look. It's not made anymore so you need to get it now if you really want it. The case was way up top of the shelf so no one could steal it. haha They had crab at 6.99 so we had to get it here . SO many different things. Love it. A case of king crag legs for $319 wow tempting. Only spent little over 200 bucks so not bad this time . Perfect place to find the great Asian items at this store. read more

Nothing beats Costco cheap gas prices and food I swear. If I had to compare between Sam's Club, I would say Costco would be better. Costco offers more options and higher quality stuff. Their deals are really good for food and house hold items. Their hot dog and drink combo is always a must. I love their chicken bake. The their pizza is okay. I find it very greasy but cheap for a large pizza. I like how there are many gas fuel stations with the signs that show if a car is present or not. Their vanilla and chocolate ice cream is very creamy. Only down side, it can get very busy and makes it hard to find a place to eat and even park in the parking lot. I've been shopping at this Costco location (as my default) for many many years. Now that there is an Elk Grove location, the crowd at this Stockton Blvd location is way more pleasant to deal with. We go to Costco for household basics (detergent, dish washing liquid, paper towels, toilet paper) as their prices are lower compared to other places. We find that the prices for certain items can't be beat here, like eggs, certain meats, cakes, clothing. I actually love their seasonal items (which usually can be found near the front (just shy of the cash registers). And, they also occasionally have sales/discounts on top of their already reasonable prices. (Example: $50 off their whole prime ribs, no rain checks though) read more

I find this location less customer oriented than in our county. There were no orange carts at the entrance so an employee said he saw some in the parking lot. One customer decided to park her basket full of free boxes in one exit lane, of course in front of my heavy cart while her husband went through the other line with her goods. The exit line clerk eventually asked her to move. As I exited an employee drove up, parked cutting me off and then hugged her partner until he decided to drive off. She saw me and had no care. Earlier today, I was at another Costco and was not able to find one specific item I was looking for even with the help with associates. This location tends to carry more Asian related items than other Costco that I have been to. They are usually crowded with long lines even at the food court. Since I am an executive member, I have early access to enter before the general members. During that early hour, it is nice and quiet. The staff here is a hit and miss. Some are nice, some are rude/mean. Self check out is towards the pharmacy area. When you need to make a return, you will need to scan your card at the entrance and then cross over to the membership service side. Plenty of parking but can be difficult to find a spot on the weekends. read more

I love Costco! It's always a treat for the $5 roast chicken, the $1.50 hotdogs, and all the other great deals! Specifically, I wanted to review the new food court offerings. The caramel brownie sundae was quite good. The brownie bites were a little processed in texture, likely from another item in the store. The caramel was a little processed, flavor-wise, but a familiar one that I enjoyed. The soft serve was the same that are in the other sundaes. Overall, I would give this a 3/5. The calzone is quite good. At a higher price point of $6.99, it is a big piece of food. Reminiscent of the combo pizza, just more bread and sauce. There is not a lack of toppings inside, but I don't know if I would order it again, especially given the regular pizza and hotdog quality and prices. 3/5. read more

I've always been a Costco member for years. Last year Sams club sent us a special for membership for $15.00 for the year. We accepted it n it was ok. I missed some items from Costco, most items. Today I finally renewed my Costco membership. I was very disappointed. Cucumbers were soft, Tangerines were moldy along with the oranges. I noticed prices were considerably higher than last year and higher than Sams club. I sure hope this changes. read more

This rating is exclusively for the pharmacy. Every time I go there the staff looks like they are in a bad mood. No smile no greeting nothing. I get my dog's medications here. The cashier is the worst she is always very short and monotone. The staff will keep working and not acknowledge anyone and she will disappear in the back for long periods. Until I have to literally knock on a glass to get the pharmacists attention who in turn finds the cashier. Same procedure every time I go. This is always in the morning around noon. Went in on Friday August 1st at around 2 PM. I normally don't even bother with the samples but I had the kids with me and they were hungry. They wanted to try some ice cream. An older lady was at the station with ice cream with some kind of breading/muffin. We walked up to her and she did not say anything. Ignored us. Continued plating the sample cups. Even paused and admired her work for a bit. Still not saying anything. So when I attempted to pick one up after standing there for a few seconds, she snapped at me and told me I am not to grab it. I have to grab it only from a specific tray. She did not say it nicely. Sounded more like scolding a child. I'm quite embarrassed and said okay. Needless to say, I walked away in shame and didn't even want to look at anything in that area. She could have said it nicer. She could have acknowledged me and told me while I was standing there watching her. She didn't have to wait til I made a move to shame me. I will probably never touch these samples again. No customer service. Instead of selling/advertising, she's more like chasing people away. I spent a good $350 that day, none on ice cream. read more

What can be said about Costco? This is probably the nearest location to me and I've been shopping here for quite some time. I believe most people have had the experience at Costco where you intend on purchasing one or two essential items but end up picking up an area rug in addition to two sweaters, a pair of socks and some Dubai chocolate. And that's not all! Gotta order something from the food court. I feel guilty sometimes or as if something is missing if I walk out of there without something warm and ready to eat. I sure do miss the combination pizza. If I remember correctly, it disappeared right at the start of the pandemic and never returned. I believe we're out an explanation. I don't remember a time when I walked out of Costco disappointed at what I ordered from the food court. Everything here is very consistent and has been for several years. Came here yesterday (12/3/24). Paid and was out the door my 430'ish. The lady at the exit (Lisa G.) was quite annoying. I had a little over $100 worth of groceries and we all know that isn't alot of stuff. Maybe about 14 items. She looked at my receipt, counted every item in my cart. I also had bought a soda on a different receipt that the lady kept when I went to go get my cup. Lisa counted my cup along with my whole cart and asked me where my receipt was for my food. Confused I asked "food? you mean my groceries? it's in your hand. Or do you mean my soda?" She replied "yes, your food." I was now annoyed. I told her that the lady who gave me my cup kept my receipt and I only grabbed a soda. It was .74 cents. She kept asking me for my receipt for my food. I told her I didn't get any food, just a soda. Geez... Not sure what her issue was. I for sure would've handed her my soda if she demanded me to go back to the food court to go get my receipt for my soda, which was probably now in the trash. Talk about a power trip. Hopefully Lisa doesn't man the entrance because she will probably make you stand there while she analyses your photo and you before allowing you to come in and shop. And what is up with everyone walking in all directions in the store and the parking lot? It's so chaotic. People literally will leave their cart in the middle of the aisle just to grab a sample or whatever. I'm also a Sams Club member. Sams may not have as much variety but at least we all walk in the same direction and show courtesty when shopping and driving/parking. read more

Today around 1:30 p.m., I went shopping at Costco. I took a cart and put in one bottle of shampoo, one bottle of conditioner, a case of coconut water, and a bag of haribo gold bears. Because I wasn't feeling well, I left my cart near the checkout area in an open space and went to the restroom. When I came back, I noticed there were some extra items in my cart, and two employees were sorting products nearby. I told them this was my cart, but one female employee told me I couldn't take it because it now contained other items. I said they could remove the extra things since a few of the items were definitely mine. She said if I wanted that cart, I would have to wait a few minutes. It would have taken only a few seconds to remove those items, but I was in a hurry and had to go back to the entrance to get a new cart and start over. This experience was very disappointing and affected my mood for the rest of the day. I've been a Costco member since 2010, but today I'm considering canceling my membership and going to a nearby Sam's Club. read more

I went there today and because of surgery not that long ago needed a scooter they only had them in parking lot where people leave them. Everyone went in to shop. I waited outside. They shopped and were out before one pulled up. Shopping is great here and everyone has always been nice to me. I'm making this review for all the people who need a scooter to shop. has anyone tried their chicken sandwich? I had one today. blah. The sandwich consist of lunch meat sliced chicken, lettuce, tomato slice, little mayo, slice of cheese, and bacon jam. Basic generic sandwich ingredients except for the bacon jam. But that ciabatta bun was thick, dry, cold, and a bit hard. Perhaps if they toasted or grilled the bun or served this sandwich warm would improve this $6.99 item. It was the same thick, dry, cold, hard ciabatta bread they used for their failed roast beef sandwich. They have to change the ciabatta bread or toast/grill or even serve it warm. this ciabatta roll is the worst bread to use if they continue with any current or future sandwich offerings. I am equidistant to this (south Sacramento) and the Cal Expo locations but always choose this location when I also need gas as it's the cheapest gas prices out of all the Costcos due to the tax rate in the area. The store is kept clean and tidy. The sample staff and the bakery staff are friendly. They have a good variety of products and have a lot more Asian food items compared to other locations. My only negatives are the other staff members are not as friendly as other locations nor as helpful. There's been several times where I've asked for something I couldn't find or if they still carried a certain product only to be told "I don't Know" which is not helpful or satisfactory. At other stores the staff members will walk you to the item or at least tell you what aisle and the approximate area in the aisle where you can find it. The prices have gone up a lot and when food costs have already risen everywhere it would be nice if they could go back to previous pricing to lower the financial burden on people. For instance I've bought a 3 pack of Butter Lettuce here and at other locations for $3.99 and the last time I went it was $5.99. I know everything food related has gone up in the last couple years but this huge of an increase (55% higher) is beyond excessive. I do appreciate what a great company Costco is, especially when they announced they would be keeping their DEI policies while other companies have erroneously chosen to jump ship (all of which I'm boycotting including their competitor Sam's Club). read more

Someone came in and changed the employee behavior and attitudes. I know this cause I come often enough to see one or two people being followed by a gang of employees. Multiple times over a few months. You know you got bad employees when someone mouths off to someone this important. In front of everyone. I no longer see the dude at Costco. Insane toxic attitude. Back to the point. You now see a lot of people with check lists checking inventory etc. I hope they bring back the thick Costco brand trash bags. They cheap and effective for recycling bags. The young employee survived and had his environment changed for the better. I am happy to see that.
