This place never has carts because the people there hoard them all day covering their huge pile with a blanket. After hours of being there, they go through their things, throwing back what they don't want, when those items could've been sold to others! If you are into treasure hunting and are willing to put up with the other man's trash, this is a place for you. Come prepared with gloves and sanitizer. Won't hurt to wear a mask either. Grab a cart or bring your own IKEA bag to drag around as you pile your new treasures into it. It can get crowded especially around fresh bins. People like to go for the purses and wallets first. If you are not searching for cash, maybe seek out calmer bins. I try to be systematic about searching through. Little gems tend to fall through to the bottom of the bins. Watch out for broken glass. Oh wow didn't I review this? This store is the best of thriftint if you go hardcore. It's by the pound and you dig. Yup. I got a Sacramento Kings jacket here though along with a bunch of dog books to read to dogs. And a suitcase. Put back the weighted blanket because it would've been normal price based on weight. Amazed the store has such long hours! I had items to donate and the young woman provided terrific customer service.

Lots of good stuff. But lots of pushy people. When I went there were at least 4 different groups of men (3-4 in each group) who would hog up space at the new carts. Two of them got on either side of me and when the last cart was placed, they stretched their arms out in front of me and kept me from getting anything, even what was right in front of me. They would also pull off all the bags that were unopened and put them in their carts (at other outlets I've seen people open the bags in the bins so everyone could see, The staff doesn't say anything to them; seems like it is just accepted practice there. For value, I would give this place 5 stars, but because of the desperate cut throat groups, I have to lower it to 1/2 a star. NOT worth it. read more

I visited this bins location twice while in Sacramento. Both were weekend morning and I arrived a little after opening. Staff is friendly and they rotate the bins fairly regularly. Other patrons were nice too. I have been to some bins locations where folks were kind of aggressive with each other. I found some unique stuff, but be prepared to dig and have patience. We heard of this place and decided to come. Wow it's super intense here. It wasn't really clean and i felt a little uncomfortable. There's bins everywhere nothing is sorted what so ever. It's either a hit or miss. Most of this clothes seemed like the clothes no one wanted. Everything seemed old. There's people who wait on the side and literally attack the carts . I think they resell things. We were there for like 2 hours found a few shirts and a huge basket for $12. The price is definitely worth it since they sell by the pound. It used to be an exciting thing before they put stuff of any value online They also get cheap Chinese stuff and try to sell it like a dollar tree but it's not $1. They don't fill their bins fully when they bring out new bins. Only the bottom layer of the bin is filled up so even if you've been waiting for new rotations, there isn't much to sort through. There's probably around 10 pieces of garments or so in each new bin they bring out. This location is a lot smaller compared to the other Goodwill Outlet in Sacramento so it's also harder to find clothes. It was also really packed when I came so it was hard to find any good pieces. read more

This place is not safe. Several people that will yell at you and steal from you. These people are supposed to wait for all of the items to be lined up but instead if they see something valuable, they will break the rule and steal it from directly in front of you. If you report to management, the management doesn't enforce the rule and kick out dangerous individuals, instead, they allow all parties to stay and argue and take the valuable item to the back so the goodwill can sell the item for the online corporate site. I met a woman who was a regular here and said she went to jail for fighting o we things here and the fight basically progressed on the type of things I've explained happen here without any thought from management to get a hold on it. I think some of the negative reviews are a bit of an exaggeration or perhaps I just went at a non peak time. After reading the reviews, I thought I was about to walk into an enclosure of wild animals at the zoo. It was not like that. People did crowd around the new bins but they were not fighting over items or pushing each other out of the way. If you just go there to look for clothes, there is minimal to no crowding going on. I found a Liz Claiborne coat, vintage denim, a vintage Woolrich cardigan, some LL Bean khakis with tags, and some American Eagle sweatpants. There are definitely mid range to nicer items in those bins, you just have to be willing to dig through everything. As others have said, wear gloves. I did come across trash and heavily stained items plus some of the bins may have broken, sharp objects in them. read more

This was my first time ever visiting a Goodwill Outlet so I wasn't sure what to expect. In case anyone was wondering, they do accept both cash and credit card. The clothing is priced around $1.59 a pound and I walked out with 4 bags for $23, which would probably cost $100 at a regular Goodwill location. Their carts are limited, so be sure to bring something to carry stuff in. It feels sort of like an assembly line as people line up as new carts come out like a 5am Black Friday campout and start tearing in like dumpster divers. I perused the carts that had been mostly looked over to avoid the crowds and still found some cute brand name pieces. This was at 3pm in the afternoon. The donation center is right next to it and a lot of the items seemed to be winter/fall like jackets and sweatshirts, so I would suggest coming at the end of each season to see what people have gotten rid of. read more

Avid thrifter here. I honestly LOVE this new location. Discovered it as I wanted to donate some stuff along the W. Capitol location, but poster announcements were taped all over their windows - so I headed to the new Industrial Blvd address. This new location is ONLY 4 MINUTES AWAY from the W. Capitol. I came here on a Wednesday (2 days after their grand opening), and my goodness this is heaven. I've been to plenty of Goodwills and for Sacramento, this is up there with the Arden location -- maybe even better. The donation center is to the left of the building, and a Goodwill Outlet is located to the right. Didn't checkout the Outlet, but if you're not familiar with Goodwill Outlet's system, its basically by the the pound. (Yes. I repeat, by the pound - for clothing) Will update review later on... The new W. Sacramento location has 3-in-1: a donation center, a retail store, and a by-the-pound outlet where you dig through unsorted bins (careful..some sharp goods are in there). There is a lot of space and they have organized it very well. The retail arm is just plain nice (for a thrift place, that is). Definitely better than lots of the other retail centers located in seedier neighborhoods. It's a little out of the way to get here, but I think the cleaner, newer facilities are worth it. Lots of bargain-shopping, for sure. Heh...you can drop a load off, then look around for more stuff. read more

I spent about about hourish there and I found some pretty good finds that consisted of some pretty cool basics for $11. I only looked through the first couple of bins, because there were a lot of people inside and looking at each bin. Beware of individuals who are shopping in bulk and resell them at vintage markets. One yelled at me because I was looking in the same bin as her and I got to a corner she hadn't touched yet. The workers there are very friendly. Do you even thrift, bro? You have my respect if you've sorted through bins, been elbowed by half a dozen middle aged and elderly women, and paid by the pound for your treasures. This ain't no Crossroads. This is some third world type issh. A cluster of gloves and mask wearing folks wait anxiously for each fresh bin. You aren't one of them. It's palpable, not that I give shit. The new bin is slowly wheeled toward the cluster and then the walkers go in like they smell a wounded human. Clothes and elbows fly. People stare each other down staking claim on that half decent looking denim piece. What did I end up with? Some pretty nice looking placemats, a metal serving tray, and some Christmas lights. The metal thing hurt me when it came to the per pound pricing, but I still rolled out dropping less than $4. It's mostly clothes. Women's clothes. Not exactly quality. You will need to dig to find stuff. There lots of very cheap books, movies, and video games. I found stuff in the trinket/used Christmas stuff bin. There is also some uber cheap furniture that needs love as well as a good sanding and staining. Show up at 10am and you can get first dibs at those bins as they roll out. Good luck.
