I shop here from time to time. The prices went up a lot higher. For about 5 jeans I paid $21.00 then the cashier had the audacity to charge more for each time item. She literally checked inside every small pocket to see if there was sharing inside it. There is a tall, blond woman who comes here quite often it seems and it looks like she's a reseller. I seen her speaking with someone sounding like a complaint. She is there everyone I shop there. I believe she talks about the ones who go there on a daily basis and sees them as "competitors ". I feel as if the workers are treating me like I'm some type of thief or something. Given the fact that goodwill makes 100% profit because products are donated, they literally treat the store as if it's more valuable than the expensive department stores. There are about 3 or 4 cashiers who over price everything and up charge the products. I looked on the receipt Anna they don't have the cashiers names in them. The old lady with red marks all over her hands has a cashiers code: 20108. Beware of this cashier she discourages me from buying anything. She has white hair, her hands shook when she was ringing up my items, and I believe it showed redness in her hands. There's another older gentleman who overpriced everything. He is white and slouches. The other one to watch out for is a loud African American woman who charged me two Times for the same products. She made it look like she didn't charge me and lectured me "oh you are trying to hide these bars!" Which didn't make any sense and charged me close to $200 for about $70 worth of things. I really hope karma comes back to all of those who rip us off and overcharge us. read more

Well, I am pretty new at shopping the bins! I've been three times now and each time has been a learning experience and lots of fun. The bins are an experience, not for the faint of heart. It's a giant room where they wheel in actual bins full of either stuff that has never been at Goodwill or has been at a Goodwill and didn't sell. They have bins of goods and bins of soft goods and bins of shoes. They have the furniture piled up in the back. The clothing is sold by the pound so honestly, I got some amazing amazing stuff for next to nothing each time I've been here I have been able to find things that Were in good enough condition and worth enough to make money which is what I'm after. If you have your own cart, take it because you have to wait for one. There's not a lot of of them on hand. I didn't experience any great amount of competitiveness myself. People seem to be fairly polite. It's an experience. I think everyone should have at least once if you are interested in bargains and too intimidated by other people! read more

This review is mostly about the terrible men's restroom. They have a combo lock to keep out people who would trash it, but then they never... Never ever clean it. And yes, it smells. Other than that, it's a bit above average for Goodwill Outlets. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday (Friday, March 22, 2024 around 11 am). Not too crowded but a good amount of people there. I'm a thrifting enthusiast so this place was a gem to me! When I walked in, I told the cashier it was my first time there and she gave me a low down on how it all works and how things go. The line in the middle is where people wait for the new bins to come out, but you are welcome to look through bins on the sides. It's actually more organized than I expected it to be. The bins just have everything (bins for clothes, bins for shoes, bins for miscellaneous household items)- clothing is NOT sorted out into size or category, but for the most part, the place is fairly organized because the items are in the bins and not much on the floor. A lot of clothes to rummage through, some good finds if you have time to look. Not a lot of selection of furniture, though. There are sorting tables on the side of the warehouse, too, which is nice. The parking lot is big and has ample parking. The staff are friendly. The prices can't be beat! $1.59 a pound for clothes. $0.15 cents a book! You got that right. 15 CENTS! People brought wagons and fill their carts with items. Next time, I'll probably bring an IKEA bag or a backpack to hold my stuff as I'm shopping because carts are hard to come by. The people shopping are not rude, either. Everyone mostly stays in their own area and no one's really fighting over anything lol. I heard people come here to buy cheap clothes to resell, which is not a bad idea. I just came for myself and the kids and I was able to find a few pieces for my daughter mostly (size 6) and a dress for myself. I can't wait to go back and see what treasures I can find. I love the Goodwill bins! I prefer this location over the other location in Sacramento. This place is huge and they're constantly doing rotations. Even if you aren't waiting for the rotations, they're so many bins to look through. Even though it can be packed, you should for sure be able to find something. Everything here is by the pound so everything is super cheap. The books are also 50 cents each. read more

A great place to fight people over trying to buy something. Today at around 12:45 I was waiting for the bins to roll out. I picked a spot where there wasn't anyone around. I waited behind the yellow line for the bins, when one rolled out to me I saw a bag that I wanted. Other people started sourrounding me and trying to push me out of the way as the bins rolled out. When the final bin was rolled in place, I grabbed the bag and had to fight 2 people for it, and I got the bag when the manager who was running the floor took it away from me since I had to fight for it and che claimed the final bin wasnt rolled out yet. I wanted the item, I waited patiently for it, and then it was taken away and sent to the back where they claimed it would be sent back out in another bin. Maybe you should run your business more professionally (like blow a whislte or ring a bell when the bins are finally in place) instead of letting a bunch of goons run the place, I swear they have people on the floor they favor or purposely make sure they roll stuff out to. This is the best Goodwill Outlet in the area. Large, rotate quickly, and the staff is so friendly! They really load up the bins at this location and the people are a little more laid back than the other Goodwill Outlets near by. My only complaint would be the lack of shopping carts, and the fact you can't take the carts out of the building. read more

I started coming back to this location after moving back from Washington state. The cashiers are super nice and even remember me! I love being a regular shopper at all of the outlet locations because it's the only way I thrift with the rise of inflation and you really can't beat the value! The selection on home good items is the best out of all the outlets and this is the largest store of the three outlets. Good buys on the clothing and shoes too :) My only pet peeve is that the bathrooms are locked which makes it hard to get access with my baby when they are busy ringing people up. read more

Besides the fact all of the other locations are picking the best stuff for maximum profit and throwing all the trash out to this place... There's no competing against the crews of young men who stake out the bins and with 3 to 5 of them they have the whole place covered. As soon as new items were put out they go down the line cherry pick the best out of it and throw it in their big carts and then they sort through and throw the crap back. After a couple seconds of them hitting it up what you have are 10 bins full of tiny crap clothes and they have all the best stuff... If this location is throwing crap out then they all go over to one of the other stores and hit it for everything and then resell it again. I've literally stopped buying my clothes from Goodwill and I'm going over to Desiret these days because I would rather just pay a little more and get what I need off the rack that wasting my time trying to compete with these guys. As if they aren't enough to compete with there's nothing good at the big bin stores anymore It's all going to the other locations for maximum profit now. It really is just a bunch of trash now. People who work there are absolutely fantastic! But this crew of professional shoppers sucking the place dry and then emptying the other stores for their online biz'z makes it not even worth stopping in. They've really got to do something about people taking all the new shoes and throwing them all into a cart and then going off into a corner to take the best out of it. You shouldn't need to push and shove just to try to get some good product. It's a good store but it could be a lot more fair for everyone if someone would come down on the professional shoppers and tell them use a store cart ONLY, no more bringing your giant roller bins in here! Do you like junking!? The bins is the way to go. I filled my trunk here one for about $22. If you've never been here are some tips 1) get there early because they run out of carts 2) wear gloves 3) there is no dressing rooms (plus you wouldn't want to try this stuff on before you wash it) so be prepared to guesstimate or come with measurements and measuring tape. Ok so there is a story I am appalled by. I review my credit card transactions and my husband charged .03 cents here. I asked him about it and he tells me that he locked his car keys in the trunk and needed a plain wire coat hanger to get through the window. He finds a cheap laundry mat hanger in one of the bins and they literally made him weigh it and pay for it! All his change is in his car so all he had was a credit card to pay and ran the card for the .03 cents! Are you kidding me? This piece of metal would be garbage at the end of they day. Nevermind that, how about some human decency??? Not that it should matter much but he is a normal everyday guy who shops there every week. Not a thug. So much for Goodwill! resellers have ruined this place. they have made my experience extremely bad and I wouldn't recommend coming here as often . The prices used to be affordable and now things have gotten worse. People come here because it's affordable for them and now their prices have increased due to resellers. Not to mention everytime im looking for clothes resellers are pushing me and giving me no space to look around. First time ever going to an Goodwill outlet center. Large warehouse like space filled with rows of large plastic bins. Grab a shopping cart, pick a bin and start digging! Once you're done, you take your stuff up to the cashier. Your items are charged by weight. Interesting experience. We found a few great items for a great price. We were in a search of a card table and decided Goodwill would be a good place to start. I was was not familiar with the Date Ave. location but since we were fairly close, we decided to give it a look. Unlike traditional Goodwill retail stores, this location is set up warehouse style; rows and rows of big big bins of items sold by the pound. Items are sectioned by books, shoes, glassware, art, furniture and clothes. The clothes are not separated by gender or size, so you'll definitely need patience if shopping the Date Ave. location. The security guard shared there are three warehouse style Goodwills in Sacramento. It's like Goodwills "last stop," items that did not sell in Goodwill stores or never made it to Goodwill stores. There is a musty stench throughout the warehouse and there was a obvious urine scent near the wall art (could have been from the two dirty area rugs on the cement floor). The cashier Pamela was extremely helpful, quickly taught me the "ropes" in terms of how the warehouse style locations work, pricing, and where to find items. Stars are for Pamela and the security guard. Goodwill needs to clean and disinfect the location, and certainly have any filthy rugs on the floor. Sweet spot: books are a whopping $0.15, if you have the time to look through all the the book bins. read more

This is not your run-of-the-mill Goodwill. This...is unorganized chaos with a hint of insanity. This is as close as you will get to pulling-up to the back of some business in the middle of the night with your headlights off, jumping into a dumpster, flashlight in hand as feral cats leap out of the way and rats scramble to avoid being stepped on...you have no way of knowing what you will find and absolutely no idea in Hell what you are looking for. You will immediately question your sanity as tweakers, their eyes jumping back and forth and their bodies shifting side to side, dart about the cavernous building. Children run amok, yelling and playing with unclean found objects. Where are their parents? Are they even here? Security walks the perimeter, loudly announcing stern warnings in various foreign languages to the oblivious, repeating themselves out of obligation. No, this is definitely not like any Goodwill you have ever entered before. No, those Goodwills are Nordstrom in comparison. This is where shit from dumpsters goes for one last chance at salvation. If this stuff doesn't find its redemption by way of being sold by the pound, it's curtains. It's landfill forevermore. Why in the world would you come here? If you're a picker, an upcycle builder or just want to experience what it's like to dumpster dive, then this is your opportunity. Bring very thick gloves and pray you don't slice your hand open on broken glass or other sharp objects. Make sure your tetanus shots are up-to-date. Lock your car doors and set the tweaker alarm. read more

Got lots of amazing deals, best I have ever seen. I wish I lived close so I could go more often. I definitely recommend bringing something of your own to cary your items in or just find something in the store to carry the items in. There aren't many carts. This is my favorite goodwill/thrift store. I always find great things. It is a bit rough and dirty but you have to look past that! Def wear a small purse and do not leave it in your cart. It took me and my friends 10 minutes to find this place because google maps was taking us to the back parking lot then we had to wrap around this hidden building so that was fun We finally got to the front and went inside and one of the workers told us they were closed?? I brought my teen here because she heard of the bins from people on TikTok. Of the three locations in Sacramento, this one opens at 8 so we got here early. The staff was polite and courteous and explained the rules. We had masks, but due to covid, you have to take a numbered card so they can track how many people are in the store and 1 person per bin so everyone stays 6 feet apart. As far as I could see everyone in the store was being really nice, staying apart. There was no craziness like I'd heard of at the bins. After a little more than an hour, they started calling numbers, we had to leave so that the line didn't get too long. I didn't mind, because I was starting to get tired. I feel like we did quite well. We spend around $50, got 4 pairs of shoes (2 kids, 2 adults) a ton of clothes, mostly for the teen but some for me and my little boys. We found a super mario chess set that has all the pieces. Worth the drive to Sac, for sure. read more

This review has nothing to do with what you find to purchase here, if you are determined you will find stuff to purchase, they have great stuff! HOWEVER! This is the second time that I've been here in the customer service has been pretty bad. They have their own code of conduct that they abide by and customers aren't in the know about these situations. One example is walking up and down the aisles telling people that goodwill is going to close in 30 minutes while there is a 45 minute line of people waiting to pay. Wouldn't make sense to bring another checker to the front? The other is the fact that they move the bins without saying excuse me or acknowledging your existence even if your hand is literally in a bin. Extremely rude! read more

This place brings a certain element of thrift shopping I do not enjoy. For some the hunt for treasure might be even more keen. The potential client becomes the hunter. Searching endlessly through bins of miscellaneous stuff for that amazing find everyone else past by. That's too much work for me. I have a hard enough time choosing between items even when it's neatly organized. As the old saying goes, one person's garbage is another person's treasure. There's just big bins (see picture I took) of stuff all mixed together. There is no rhyme or reason. Could you find something useful for a good price? Absolutely. I'm sure there's plenty of people find it a steal of a deal since they charge per lb. not item. But is it worth your time is my question. I have too much stuff in my house already. I really need to shop at a place where I can make a quick in and out purchase. To simply be browsing through aisles and aisles of "stuff" makes me want to turn around and walk out the door. read more

This is what thrifters call "the bins" and you can find some great deals here. The problem is that it is not easy work to survive in here. Everyone is waiting for the next bin to be rolled out. People are lining up waiting for that next bin to come out. A lot of pro thrifters or pickers go here so you are competing with them at times. You should start preparing as soon as you hit the parking lot. Find a shopping cart before you go in because you will need one if you are there to really find something. The first time I went there I was not impressed. I was grossed out and not prepared. The next time I went I found some great stuff. Bring gloves and also a partner. Major scores we've made here are cast iron pans for cheap, designer purses, some outdoor gear, Ansel Adams art, The North Face jacket. read more

This Goodwill Outlet is alright, it's the best one we have in Sacramento. It's a decent size and there is almost always a good selection of items. The staff are nice but a little surly. The security guards are...........ugh. They take their power way too seriously and create a yucky vibe. It can get pretty intense here. Watch your stuff, and get out of the way when they are bringing bins in or out. read more
