Ohhhh my goodness, no. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Ego Thrift in Citrus Heights. First off, I found the prices to be incredibly high for a thrift store. I ended up spending $71 on two North Face backpacks, and unfortunately, that wasn't even the worst part. On the way home, I noticed a strong, unpleasant odor coming from the backpacks. Once I got home and opened them up further to inspect the inside, I was disgusted to find what appeared to be actual black mold growing inside both bags. Items in this condition should NEVER have been put out on the sales floor, especially at the prices being charged. Mold isn't just a stain or normal wear--it's a serious cleanliness concern, and customers should be able to expect that items being sold have at least been properly inspected. I spent $71 on two backpacks that I ultimately felt I had to throw away. That is incredibly frustrating and such a waste of money. For a thrift store charging these kinds of prices, there absolutely needs to be better quality control and inspection of donated items before they're sold. Very disappointing experience, and I would strongly recommend thoroughly inspecting anything you purchase here, especially bags, clothing, or other fabric items. read more

I love Ecothrift!!! I found a Christmas Tree stand for $0.90!!!! It was $3.95 but the color was 75% off. The staff are friendly, they even let me open something to see that it works (I am sure they are not allowed to). Some stuff is overpriced but then some other stuff is underpriced. Just got to go and check it out. Easy parking and in a pretty good area of town. I know it's not a non-profit but still great that it provides low-cost items for those of us that need it. read more

I don't live in Citrus Heights but I was in the area and wanted to drop off some donations so I stopped by. I immediately was stopped by the security, who asked what was in my water bottle and didn't believe me when i said it was just water. Then told me to put my bag of donations by the side wall, not realizing or asking if they were donations. He immediately framed me for being suspicious of theft. I took a look around and the store wasn't nicely put together. I was with my baby in her stroller, so I just said "never mind I'll leave". Then as I was leaving a kind older lady who works there, helped me with my bags. But I will never go here again to shop or to donate because it was very sketchy and I felt immediately scared for my own safety due to the environment. read more

As someone who thrifts a lot (not as a reseller), the pricing at this place is all over the map. A lot of the housewares, decor, and similar items are priced ridiculously high for what they are. Clothing is hit or miss too -- it's pretty shocking to see a used jacket in decent condition marked at $30+. I also love how their website claims they offer "deep discounts". I'd personally skip this place unless you happen to catch a 50% off sale. Thrift stores seem to be getting greedier by the day. read more

Genuinely the worst "thrift" store ever, anything with a brand that's even slightly known is priced ridiculously. Dozens of shoes $50-$110 when they are receiving them for free. Half the time I checked the price of a clothing item it was over $50 and nothing at a thrift store should be that much other than maybe furniture. Also no dressing rooms. Daaaaaang! Prices way too high. So many items were in the $20-$50 range, and even with their weekly percentage savings, the prices were still higher than other thrift stores. They've also changed up a lot of the racks so there are way less clothes to choose from. I've been coming here since they were on Fruitridge and this was the least enjoyable experience I've had there. They've been cutting back over the years, so now there are no changing rooms, you have to ring items up yourself, no pleasant employee interactions, high prices, and less clothes. Boo! At these prices, you want to try on the clothes you're going to purchase, but you have to do it in the central aisle (where the mirrors are) with people squeezing by. Really unpleasant all around. Going to be a long while before I choose to go back here. Which makes me bummed because it use to be one of my favorites. read more

First time ever going here. Honestly their prices are pretty great for most things, they do have a crazy expensive section with like 1000$ chains and 4,000 LV purses but the rest of the store isn't that bad. I found some really great stuff. A knockoff LV for 7$, a care bear mini backpack for 20$, the kids got a ton of toys and they were all reasonably prices. The store is relatively clean and very organized. So why the three stars. So we were checking out, self checkout btw which I thought was very fancy for a thrift store. One of the tiny stuffed animals my baby wanted didn't have a tag. The lady refused to sell it to us despite my baby having a complete melt down. I even offered to pay extra. She still wouldn't sell it. That was very upsetting. You are a thrift store. A baby is flipping out, just give us a dang price. This is stuff that's given to you guys for free and that's how you are going to act? Also the other shoppers were all very rude and clearly not raised with manners in that area as not a single person was polite enough to say excuse me when walking by or trying to grab things in front of where you are looking. There was one very nice employee with Dreds, and an elderly woman stocking the toys. These two were the only people that was decent to us while we were there. So is it worth a look? This thrift store is big! It reminds me of a Savers if you've ever been to one of those. It has long aisles filled with clothes, kitchen items, bedding, and the typical thrift store items. But it also has a little craft section with sewing patterns, etc. Another way it is similar to Savers is that they have different colored tags and certain colors discounted each time you go. So, check the sign to see which colored tags are on sale the day you go. They have self checkout too. This was the first time I have ever been to a thrift store that has self checkout. Are these all just volunteers and nobody's actually being paid to be here? Maybe if they paid people better they would be less worried about the pimple patches, falling off of their face and actually allow customers to handle merchandise Because the fact that you could want to charge somebody $300 for a bag of stones and not let them touch the stones is completely insane. They are so courteous to all the patrons that come in there plus they have a security person just in case they are we need them all the employees. There are great a long time people who have been there, Christian, Patti, Victor,Kyle , and some of the other people that I talk to regularly the store prices have gone up, but there are still bargains in there , also they speak different languages and they are pretty helpful and it's clean !!!!! read more

The thing about vintage and thrift stores is that the selection is always hit or miss. After having shopped at the South Sacramento location of Eco Thrift several times, my partner & I decided to check out this location in Citrus Heights. While I didn't find anything that fit my needs, the store did have a decent selection of shoes and clothing, particularly for women. Housewares-wise, I prefer the South Sac location. This location did have some decent pieces of furniture on our visit. Overall, I'd stop in again if I'm ever in the neighborhood just to check out what treasures they've got! read more

They keep any designer labels off the floor and in their boutique section behind the counter so you can't even look. I did ask to see a "Gucci" purse with a $60 price tag on it. It was a fake. Your company policies are stupid. I picked up a red pink scarf yesterday and while I was adding to my shopping pile, the tag on the scarf came off. I didn't realize until I was checking out and asked for a new tag. I didn't care what they wanted to price it as. It was the most beautiful scarf I had ever seen I would've paid $20 for it. I didn't bother telling the lady up front that it had a tag for $3. The lady up front said no that they had to take it back and price it to put back on the floor tomorrow. The lady up front must have stolen the scarf because I'm back here today and the scarf is not on the floor. I had a couple ladies working this morning help me look for it and check the back. They still didn't find it. If you guys are worried about losing money, your workers are the ones stealing from you, not the customers. Your policies are hurting the customers, who are the reason you are making any money in the first place. read more

Been coming here, and the other location in Sac, for years!! prices gone up too much but I come often and get the stuff (colored tags) that are on sale and get great deals. Huge store, I believe the 2 locations in Sacramento are the biggest around. And they stay busy so best to go early on week days if possible. read more

Huge Store with a Boutique. Clothes are inexpensive. Nick naks are pricey. The Boutique is outrageously expensive for items behind the counter and in the glass cases. You need to have a lot of time to see everything, tons of merchandise. Deducting a star because it's generally expensive here. read more

Great selection of holiday decor and table linens. Very organized compared to other thrifts.

This is a pretty big place. You can pretty much find what you you want to . Make sure you check to see what color the day is and also the other three associated colors. That means the first color will be 25% off, 50% off, or 75% off. Most of the stuff here if you buy that matches the color it is affordable otherwise you will be paying other regular prices. The lines are very nice and quick I did not have to wait too long. read more
