Threads Clothing Exchange - Love the items I found! - Thrift Stores Near Me - Roseville, California

This store is sadly exceptionally rude to their customers. I LOVE supporting local businesses and buying second hand so I exclusively (and very often) purchase everything from consignment or second hand stores. Threads has an online presence on Poshmark and I've never had such a bad experience with a business. I accepted an offer they sent to me for my MIL's birthday gift that I needed the following week. The average ship time for the store showed two days on average so I waited two full days to reach out to them- not a problem. They never responded, so I sent another message to give them the notification. They seem to have a large following so I figured my message got lost in the stack- again, no worries. But I never got a response to the second message either. Poshmark had also sent the seller a reminder to ship but the store still didn't. The store canceled my order without giving a reason. I was very confused and my MIL has been on the hunt for this specific backpack so I was excited to gift it to her! I then tried to buy the same backpack they had listed and they commented "I'm not comfortable with making a sale to you." See attached photos. I'm very disappointed with a small business treating their customers in such a negative manner. I was hopeful the online employee would get notifications of my messages and be reminded to ship my purchase. I guess they got offended from me reaching out? Or they didn't want to sell the item for the amount they offered me? Unsure. But it's very clear that the store is overwhelmed with doing online services since they cannot ship or respond to customers in a timely manner. They also BLOCKED ME on Poshmark? Very strange and exceptionally unprofessional. Anyway, I simply was hoping they would be notified more quickly and ship my item in time for my mother in law's birthday the following week. Super disappointed in a small business treating any customer this way. Do better. I would definitely take my business elsewhere or train your employees in customer service. Best of luck. I truly do love this store. You can get great things for super cheap! Love it! They have great finds and have very cute stuff! The sad part is selling to them. I have brought stuff to sell and frankly a lot of it has been nicer than what I sometimes see. They literally do not take a single thing. A lot of it has been free people, Nike, Levi's, and anything that is nice. I have seen some beaten up things. I would definitely recommend shopping there but not selling. read more

This place has a great selection of clothes! It's a mix between vintage and current styles! I on particular like that mix because I don't necessarily wear what is trending. That being said when I do bring clothes in for them to sift and buy...it's hit or miss! Some days they want it all and some days they pass on name brand items that still have their tags on them. So this is the first time I decided to take my clothes to a consignment store I took about 30 items of new or gently used items. They only took 4 items the person who took my items said " you have a lot of cute stuff but they are out of date" really! From what I saw in your store items were outdated and more than gently used there was nothing in the store I would have purchased. Store owner is sweet, however she co owns the store with her daughter who is extremely rude! She's super stuck up and rude. Probably the worst customer service on Vernon Street. To those who are new or visiting, Vernon street is historic to downtown roseville and many of the businesses have been there for many years. This is a dangerous store for me! Every time I walk in, I leave with a bag full of new (gently used) clothes! Threads is by far my favorite place to shop in Roseville, especially since I'm living off of a college-student budget! Customer service is amazing - so welcoming and friendly! This is a very nice establishment they still like new gently use clothing there's even stuff that you'll find with tax still on it is definitely definitely a nice way to get some extra cash if you have some clothes that you don't want anymore I just just bringing them here first to see if you can get some money for it they have lots of name brands to choose from in this establishment I Saul a lot of namebrand jeans a lot of namebrand purses wallets and much more and it's not just for women they have stuff for men to the girl that helped me the other day was very sweet and very helpful and I got a good amount for the dollar this is conveniently located downtown Roseville just be advise it's hard to find parking I had to park a little ways to get in so just keep that in mind when you come here if you have to find decent parking it's usually away from the store it's like a little walk just keep that in mind this establishment is very nice very clean very organized the staff was super friendly and after you try on stuff they take it and re-steam it before they put it back out which I definitely appreciate the extra effort that they do in the store this is definitely a nice place lots of cute dresses lots of cute things definitely a way to stock up on your summer wardrobe I highly recommend this establishment for anybody looking for some new shorts cute skirt cute dresses they definitely have something for everybody I will definitely be coming back here again very soon from work each visit and we're going expenses to come thank you throws Kleenex and you guys are awesome keep up the wonderful work :-) read more

One thing I take into account when entering a store is how they treat people with color. My mom and I never feel out of place or uncomfortable shopping here unlike some places in folsom. We always gladly and happily buy everytime we come in. The selection is so nice and so well priced! I also love that they are size inclusive! read more

Threads Clothing Exchange has a variety of gently used and/or brand new clothing, shoes, purses and other accessories located in downtown Roseville. The place reminds me of Crossroads on Arden Way in Sacramento, California except the place is much more organized, manageable, and more reasonable prices. The employees were helpful and kind. After reading the reviews I definitely needed to check this place out. There was a few bad reviews but isn't there always when individuals are in a pissy mood. It's sad people decide to post bad reviews on a business based on there sense of entitlement. I feel this is important to address because this store has replaced Nordstrom's for me;) Please read highlights of bad reviews at the end of my review for I think it is important to address these simply because they are so ridiculous they are humerus!!!! So I walk into this adorable place and everyone who reads my reviews knows how picky I am about cleanliness of businesses. This place is spotless. It is like you are walking into a high end boutique and it smells clean. I went on Presidents Day because they were having sale. If you look at my pictures everything I got was $55 dollars SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!!! I scored some high end brands and most of them still had price tags on them!!!!! There was 3 ladies working when I went there and I want to give them a shoutout for they were so friendly, helpful & had good energy. I told them what I was looking for and they started pulling clothes for me. I felt like I had personal shoppers. Now If I could sit in a chair and spit champagne while they shop for me would be my suggestion for this business Hahahaha !!!!But seriously yelpers this is a fun clean store with awesome trendy clothes that are super reasonable especially with sales!!!!! Thank you Chelsie, Hayley & Angel for being so helpful to me. I absolutely love how fun & helpful you three are!!!! I almost forgot Hayley (Super fun lady) was steam cleaning clothing so I asked if she was taking the wrinkles out before she puts them out (you know making small talk)...Nope are you ready for this....... They only accept clean clothing and they steam clean every item to sanitize it before it goes on the racks again SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! This is why it doesn't smell in there;) If you go to 2nd hand establishments it smells funny in there and that's because the items are dirty and not sanitary (yuck)!!!!!! Well yelpers not at threads because they sanitize everything before the customers come in contact with it. Again trust me when I say this.. Threads is the BEST within a 50 mile radius of Roseville. I consider myself an expert at consignment/Thrift Store shopping simply because I have been going weekly since I was a teenager. Sorry other similar business but threads wins. This is now my go to store. O.K. let's do Highlights of bad reviews because the yelpers reviewing clearly has let their sense of entitlement take over instead of using common sense Hahahaha Highlights here we go.... a review to use debit machine for over $3 in purchases, let's think about this yelpers. The key words OVER does it say anywhere $3 no it says OVER. So a person writes a bad review on an amazing business because they are unable to understand the common English language, that review irritated me. Here is another.... I brought my service dog in which had the vest on. Yet the person could not provide the paperwork ummmm hello that is your responsibility to have that paperwork for your service animal. Omg bashing a store for that is ridiculous. My favorite and last bad review. A person came in and they felt they were being watched the entire time.... wait it gets better....they stated they were clean, showered and parked their Bmw out front and didn't appreciate being watched. Yelpers why are people not understanding the purpose of yelp and writing reviews. So I have to address Ms. BMW.... Darling I parked my BMW out front as well, the amazing staff there was looking at me as well. Then I did this key concept of human communication, I started talking to them and had an amazing conversation. So next time Ms BMW here is 101 consignment, thrift store shopping.... Employees watch consumers so they can see what costumers are looking at for two reasons first to see what your drawn to so they can get other items for you to look at. 2nd to see what you are interested in so they can see what their customers want so they can put more of those items on the rack because darling they were very helpful and helped me load my BMW with some Amazing clothing. Side note don't think your entitled and better than others because your drive a BMW & your welcome for the 101 education. The only reason I am giving a 1 star is because of the treatment I received from the owner of this store. My visit was 1/12/19 at 1:15 PM. You can see in the attached pictures of the review I left on Facebook (I have cut off my last name for privacy reasons) and the owners response. I am appalled. How she treated me and my friend is absolutely unacceptable, especially as a business owner.  My friend and I came because of the dollar sale. I have shopped at this store before and found some great items and never had any issues. Today was very different. I found 3 items, totaling $3. When I got to the register, I saw that it was posted that there was a $3 minimum for paying with a card, so I got my card out to pay. As I got out my card out she said, $4 minimum. I was confused at first because as you can see in the picture, it is clearly stated that the minimum is $3. I said, the sign says $3. This is when her attitude changed and she started to argue with me. She said that it was an old sign. Then she said that my total wasn't over $3. I responded that it was because my total was $3.24. She responded that "over $3 means $4." I repeated that the posted sign right next to the machine says $3 minimum. That's when she got hostile. She made a comment about how it's not worth it because the credit fee and complained through the entire transaction. So I took a picture of the sign and while doing so she asked in a very rude tone if I was going to post it online. I told her yes. She told me that was very petty. Not once, but multiple times. In all honesty, I wasn't going to leave a review till she said that. THEN as she was ringing up my friend, SHE kept arguing with me. That was incredibly disrespectful to my friend, who very well could have been a person who I did not know.  So I posted a review on Facebook. Everything she says in her response is how SHE was behaving. I have a witnesses to this.  Today she lost her business at least 5 customers. Possibly more if she thinks this is an okay way to treat people. I have been in customer service for 15 years. I have never experienced this level of hostility and disrespect at any business. Even ones where you can tell the employees hate their jobs.  Her having the audacity to blame her behavior on me is mindblowing.  At first this review was going to be about a slight annoyance for not honoring their posted signage. And now it's about how the store owner treats customers. I honestly would not be surprised if she acted he she did because she was profiling me. Just look at the other 1 star reviews. Clearly she does treat people based solely on their appearance. She could have handled this very differently. read more

I came in for the first time to consign with a box full of clothes. My clothes were all laundered, practically new and I had lots of clothes with tags including freepeople. Along with some designer items like a brand new Staud skirt. They bought two things from me. A skirt and a sweater totaling to $13. They said they couldn't accept my clothes because "they are stained" I was very insulted because I take super good care of my clothes, and I ensured well before I went that nothing was too work, or stained!!! Very disappointed. I don't know if I rubbed the salesperson wrong, or if she simply is looking for specific brands? Either way I will never be back here again. I first learned about this place years ago from a friend. The prices were great and always found cute items but I didn't pay attention much to the service as a younger adult. As time went on I started realize how poor the service was and how rudely I was treated, especially if I had my young niece or more recently my young son with me. I was treated as if the children under my care weren't being watched or were going to ruin something in their store, I felt very unwelcome. Definitely not kid friendly/family friendly. The prices are no longer sweet deals and the staff is very particular about who they interact warmly with. Got recommended this place by my dear friend and I'm so glad she did! I'm a plus sized gal, so I often have issues finding clothes that fit my body or that are cute. Threads had both though! A big win for me was finding clothes on sale and clothes that were too big for me and could be tailored down. The staff were super helpful and friendly! For a thrift store they are awfully snooty. I was not greeted as I walked in and had to wait at the counter for a while and the attendant did not even look my way. I had to call for her and could not even tell if she worked there or not. I had brought a bag in to sell but was informed that their buyer wasnt there on tuesdays or Thursdays, something their website neglects to include. For a busy street like downtown, parking is hard to find and coming here was a waste of time. Do not bother if you are young in your 20s and a person of color. read more

I had come across threads clothing exchange on Instagram when they followed me... I was excited to definitely check it out and I went one day about a few weeks ago with my service dog... an associate asked me for the paperwork for my service dog even though she had her service dog harness on... Since I didn't have it she asked me to either leave or hold the dog in my arms... I didn't even get to check out the store good enough to see it for anything that I liked... Vernon street continues to arrive. I finally stopped into Threads yesterday . It has a good selection of consignment clothing . Everything is well organized by color , type of clothing and size. They have some nice jewelry and purses and other extras too. I was impressed with the quality and the prices. They also have a generous amount of world type attire . I saw a few items I will return to buy. I did not see men's clothing , but I could have missed it. It's an attractive shop with a boutique feel. Well done! read more

I really loved this place! I actually stumbled upon it by accident just browsing the streets of downtown. I walked in and was greeted immediately - about 10 other women were also in the shop. It was a Saturday and they had a 20% off your purchase sale going on; I am not sure if this is every Saturday! The store was extremely organized by style and size which made it very easy to browse. Something I usually notice about second hand stores... the smell.. is it just me or is there sometimes an unescapable musk that creeps in with all the clothes?! Not here! Everything was perfectly clean. I ended up buying a pair of brand new A&F jeans (tags still on) and gently used AE jean shorts with a cute gold bracelet (this was $10 alone because it was new) for $25... not a bad deal! Will definitely be back in a few weeks to see what else they've gotten in my size. read more
