I will never set foot in this thrift store again. The merchandise quality is disappointing -- soiled clothing, sweaters with moth holes, and prices that often exceed $10 for items that should never have been placed on the sales floor in the first place. What I find even more frustrating is the random handbag checks. I understand the employees are simply following store policy, and I do not blame the staff personally, but the policy itself feels intrusive and insulting. Being treated with suspicion while shopping among overpriced, damaged merchandise makes for a very unpleasant experience overall. There are many thrift stores in the area that manage to provide better quality, fairer prices and a more welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, this store no longer does. read more

This store feels like old school thrifting. The quality falls on the lower end, but there is a lot of variety, prices are for the most part are reasonable and there's always one colored tag to watch for half-price treasures. Went here for the first time. It was a weekday and it said open on Yelp. The store was dark and locked. Not sure what was going on but it turned out to be a waste of time. After many times stopping by here I am finally writing my review because I appreciate the organization and customer service. The crap they have to deal with some of these customers is ridiculous! Today Brenda, Linda, Ruthie and Lupe all heard greeting customers, stocking shelves/racks and helping customers with behind the counter items only be cursed at my a very rude lady and had to ask previous thieves to leave all in the hour I was there. That lady was SO rude my boyfriend had to tell her to be quiet and leave after continuing to argue with one of the gals. Zero stars. The prices here are insane. Was excited to find 3 vintage lamps. On closer inspection the lamps are ALL BROKEN and cracked and priced at $199 to $299 EACH. What the actual f. I will preface this by saying that I had to rush from work to this place before they closed at 6pm. I got there 10 minutes before they closed and had to find something specific for a class project. Immediately walked in and didn't receive a greeting just a "we're closing in 5 minutes okay?" I totally understand that the business might want to close on time but i didn't really feel like this was a way to address that you were closing soon. I also tried to ask an employee for help and she refused and kept repeating that I wouldn't be able to buy anything because the register was closing soon and just kept circling me without offering assistance. While the other employee I assume was a manager kept counting down saying they were closing in 1 minute and just made my shopping experience not very pleasant. All in all, I will not be returning. When I made my first visit to Thrift Town I had been working on clearing an estate and were making donations. They have an incredible management team that are very personable and thankful for donations. I hit it off right away with their security team and now routinely make donations. I don't believe they are a non profit but if your looking to help families that don't have a lot of money to spend it makes sense to give to Thrift Town and save the landfills. This place does need a good sweeping and mopping of the floors. It also is in deep need of retail staging, the first impression is not really favorable which is why it's a diamond in the rough. Since I go there mainly to donate and sometimes just to see what's on the floor, I noticed their housekeeping is not very attractive for a retail environment . First time in and was in shock over how organized this store is. You really need to go over the items you might buy, some of the things have holes and stains so keep a eye open for that. I gave it 2 stars because it's still clean and well organized. But holy cow! The prices! Since we moved from the area, I would stop by when I was in town, even if it wasn't close. But the prices kept creeping higher and higher. Everything I liked and would have bought today was priced like an antique store. Great little thrift store! Used to shop at the one in the Bay Area a lot. Be wary though, their hours are 10am-6pm but they lock the doors about 20 minutes before 6 pm. So get in before 5 pm to have a chance to look around. read more

I used to drive 2 hours from San Francisco to come here for the scores and great deals. Now it's a joke. Overpriced and filled with garage. They actually had a cool pair of boots but they put two price tags on them. One for $90 and the other for $30 and refused to honor the lower tag price that THEY themselves made a mistake on. Went here to look at some pants & dresses. But they don't have dressing rooms at all! How are we supposed to buy clothes?! I understand if they took returns but they don't. So I gave about 7 pairs of pants (I was going to try) to a nice lady who informed me that they haven't had the dressing rooms in a while. No wonder why there were so few people on Saturday afternoon. Thrift Town is so much better than Goodwill. They're so organized there everything is arranged perfectly. Their prices are actually thrift prices. They have a really good selection of Christmas items. they have 1 rack just for Christmas clothes and on certain days different color tags are 50% off. While browsing they announced "we're bringing out some fresh Christmas items!" It's so fun shopping here and the staff is always very friendly and helpful! Organized and neat. wish the restrooms and fitting rooms didn't need staff to open them for you, but I think perhaps the neighborhood makes that necessary. Quality thrift store with plenty of items to browse. This isn't a vintage or boutique store. Note that it is a thrift store. So, the range of goods is very large. Good stuff bed stuff large stuff small stuff old stuff new stuff. But you'll get basically anything for a few bucks. So for that it's totally worth looking. I've found some great items here other days left with nothing. If you're looking for a boutique or antique or vintage store go somewhere else. But if you need something cheap and are willing to compromise on 'newness' this is your place. Clean store. Friendly staff. Bathrooms for customers. Thrift Town is exactly what you expect it to be. This is a bargain department store in the classic sense selling used merchandise at deep discounts. Their basic building with the classic sign is located along El Camino west of Del Paso in Old North Sacramento. Entering the store, you quickly realize the main focus is on women's clothing. Nearly half the store is devoted to this area with the rest split between men's and children's clothing, home goods, toys, and various other odds and ends. The condition of the items varies, although most of the clothing seemed in decent shape. Price is the real steal here. You can purchase a lot of clothing at a low price with a large selection. This would be a good stop for Halloween or other costume events or to get some cheap dress clothes for that first big interview. The sporting goods section has some great deals, although limited selection. They have a good selection of inexpensive toys and board games which can probably make most children happy. Thrift Town succeeds at their mission, providing affordable items to everyone in Sacramento. Access is a bit difficult for bus and light rail, so you may need to drive here. The availability of items changes constantly, so each visit may have varying degrees of success. read more

They have every BS excuse in the book for not opening their fitting rooms. Covid is no longer a dangerous threat. Not having enough staff is their choice for not hiring more staff or partnering up with programs that will literally provide them with free labor like the welfare to work program. They're extremely overpriced especially kitchen ware and mini appliances. I mean, $80 for a microwave? $10 for one green plate? $10 for worn out pumps. When this place was Thrift Town before Covid hit and new owners took over, it was the best in town. Those signs y'all see in the windows for being rated the best are old and were there long before new ownership and the ever so slight name change. This means they are also using false advertising! I have noticed that their prices ha increased a bit since being featured in the movie Lady Bird. With that being said you will need a bit more cash when you come. 50 and older crowds will fair better great deal to be had on Monday's. All in in it's still a good place to pick up some great finds. Don't let the outside of the store scare you away! It's clean, doesn't smell like a thrift shop and is super organized inside! I do enjoy the fact that the staff has to remind parents to keep their children with them at all times! They do not let kids run go crazy in this store - thank God! They also offer a wide selection of merchandise including name brands - YSL, Ralph Lauren, BCBG, Lucky jeans, etc. I found a shirt (from Francesca's boutique) that was new with tags that retails for about $50 and after discounts and coupons, I essentially got it for free! Everything is organized by color and size and by item (shirt, workout clothes, dress, etc.). Being a VIP member, I not only get the extra 50% off discount off certain color tag for that week, but I rack up extra discounts for every dollar I spend! If you look in your local mailer, sometimes there is a coupon for $5 off! I feel that their prices are a little cheaper than goodwill, but their selection is wayyyy better!
