Finally visited this thrift shop. Bought great wooden pant/jacket hangers at nice price ($4 for 5 and there was more) and three puzzles ($3 ea and there were many more). Generally quality items, mostly very good condition and the shoes were quality brands. Lots of stuff from the 80s (especially clothing) gave me flashbacks. Overeager workers/volunteers. I really like to be left alone when I shop. When I decided I'd hand them my items while I checked out the shoes (good condition, many like new, though spendy $35+), they wanted my name - no thanks. Place isn't large nor are the racks or shelves crowded. Parking along the side (coming from I-80, enter parking lot just before the store) and in back. Exit is on the other side of the store. Donations - go around back. Limited hours it seems. The Yelp page says the proceeds all go to help the local community. I'm always skeptical of claims but I'll choose to believe it and I'm glad this clean, tidy thrift shop with a clean parking lot has a generous positive mission (unlike the unscrupulous "GW"). I might swing by again in the future, if it's convenient. Definitely would prefer to be coming from I-80 instead of making another awkward u-turn coming from El Camino Avenue. read more

Perusing the racks is overwhelming with the number of volunteers milling around the store with nothing to do. Items are sorted nicely with high-end products at a good price. read more

I am a huge fan of Assistance League thrift stores around the country. Sacramento's store is right up there with the rest of them. They have a great selection of carefully curated, high end items with plenty of floor space and friendly volunteers. Their prices tend to be on the higher end of thrift shopping but their quality can't be beat. Every article of clothing appears freshly laundered and ironed. I know some hardcore thrifters like digging in bins and sorting through a lot of stuff. This is NOT that kind of place. Stuff here is in excellent condition with many designer brands. The store has a friendly vibe and if you are a senior like me, Wednesday is your day for the senior discount! read more

Smaller than the Assistance League in Reno but overall great quality. I'm wearing an Under Armour quarter zip that I bought for $6...also snagged a Peter Millar quarter zip for the same price (I bought the same Peter Millar in pink at Sierra Trading Post for $40 on sale, so this was a great find). The store is well organized and clean. My only request would be to size all pants by size number vs small, medium, etc. Overall, well worth checking out again next time I'm in Sacramento. read more

I appreciate that this organization is a nonprofit, and I was excited to visit for the first time. However, as someone who shops at many thrift stores, I found the pricing surprisingly high for donated items. I understand premium pricing in curated vintage or resale boutiques that source inventory directly, but the pricing here felt excessive and took away from the overall experience. read more

Very clean! The employees were very polite and more than helpful. Prices were overly fair. I will return regularly and often.

I really want to share about this fabulous store, but I kind of want to keep it my secret! I went there today to look for a formal dress, and happened in on their holiday sale. What a wonderful store! All the ladies working there were sweet and helpful, and the clothes are really fabulous. I found the most gorgeous coat and ask if the price on the tag was correct! If you were looking for quality clothes for a great price and this is the place to go. They also have lots of art, linens, books, etc The store is clean and well organized. There is plenty of parking around the store. They take donations Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM. read more

Assistance League - Some of my finds today! - Thrift Stores Near Me - Sacramento, California

**During Quarantine Review: April 2021** This is a nice medium sized thrift shop with friendly workers and assortment of clothes and knick-knacks. The garments here do tend to lean more older working woman and teenagers as opposed to the in between *waves at reader*. Everything looked like they were steamed and/or pressed, so the items are certain in tip top shape. The shop is not overwhelming by any means, but the prices are in my higher thrift range. Proceeds do benefit the local community, but I just didn't find anything on this visit. You could be lucky though! read more

This thrift store occasionally has some nice stuff however, they're pretty Over priced. They have a section called better Brands where they price stuff like it's retail, seriously. Talbots and Chicos! Blah. Recently, I was shopping and taking my phone in and out of my purse as I was having a conversation with a friend via text someone came up and accused me of shoplifting! Mind you I'm a 60+-year-old well dressed woman. I was really offended and upset as I had already put a whole bunch of stuff behind the counter that I was buying! just poor customer service in general such a contrast to the Auburn store that is amazing well priced and has lovely workers. read more

Super friendly staff! Great selection of merchandise...very clean and organized store! Dressing rooms to be able to try on clothes is a plus. read more

I stop by here about once a week to peruse the clothing and home decor sections. Super clean and organized upscale thrift shop ran by a very friendly group of ladies! The prices really depend on a few factors - (1) What you're looking at and (2) How long it's been there. I've been eyeing a table lamp there for a few weeks that I've noticed has declined in the price since it was first tagged due to how long it's been on display. My best find to date was a large gilded vintage mirror that I purchased for about $30. Totally worth it for the quality! Their clothes can be really hit or miss - my roommate has landed some great finds there on occasion, and the store does always re-stock their inventory. They run a few great annual sales, including everything in-store being marked half-off. Recommend signing up for their newsletter to be up-to-date on the latest sale events! read more

This is a cute little place, emphasis on *LITTLE*. It is clean and everyone is friendly. It's full of pretty upscale stuff, which is nice.

Fabulous Finds is an upscale thrift store, maybe the nicest one in the Sacramento area. We recently discovered it after driving past it for the last few years. As I am looking for pretty much only cookbooks and they only have a small assortment I won't be a regular here. On the other hand, they have some cookbook treasures in their selection. read more

This is an upscale thrift store. I really like it but don't shop here very often do to it being far from me. The store is organized, clean, with good quality merchandise. This visit I bought an infinity scarf for $4. And a paperback book for $1. Always find something I have to buy. read more

They have raised their prices significantly and the items aren't even that great. Honestly, I would rather pay a few more dollars and purchase the item new. $9 for a t-shirt? Thanks, but I will pass. I know the funds go to a good cause, but there has to be some middle ground when it comes to thrift store/used items. It was disheartening to see the price spike, this was one of the very few thrift stores that I actually liked shopping at. read more

Very clean, well lit, organized high end boutique thrift. This is a great place to find decor, higher end used clothing, artwork and chachkes read more

Congratulations to the Sacramento Assistance League on the purchase of their very own building, and the start of a successful business! I was driving down the street and saw a small crowd forming at the doors, so I had to stop! I made it just in time to hear the grand opening speech, witness the ribbon cutting, and be a part of the memorable photo shoot. Extremely exciting! Customers were given the opportunity to participate in a raffle, and then invited inside to explore the treasures. The clothing section included many designer brands for both men and women. The prices on bedding was really reasonable, and there's some really unique housewares items. If your a crafter then you won't be disappointed with the supplies they offer a deep discounted price. The store was sure bustling and most of the customers had their arms full of great items just waiting for a new home! read more

Beautiful selection of clothing, shoes, purses, vintage, jewelry and so much more!! The prices are reasonable for a thrift store and the quality of the merchandise is outstanding. Thank you to all the volunteers and wonderful donations! read more

The shop is simply amazing! It's run on volunteer time! It has a wonderful array of items, especially gently used clothing, housewares, and jewelry. The folks that work there are kind, patient and knowledgeable. I love going every week to see the latest items that have been donated and the prices can't be beat. Keep up the good work for our community, because that's where all the money goes!!!! read more

Bad experience after being in this store for just 10 minutes. I went in on a Saturday morning with my partner to find some new work shirts. We were not greeted or acknowledged at all. That's normally fine.. but anyone else walking in was greeted with a "good morning". I began to browse and didn't find much. Most of the stuff is way over priced for a thrift store. $30 for a used jacket? No Thanks. I had to leave after just 10 minutes because one of the ladies working there kept dogging me and staring at me up and down and made me feel uncomfortable. I promise I am not there to steal anything! read more

This is a nice new place to visit and the support that they offer to many people. But I didn't find it any better or different than any other thirty shop. In fact their pricing was a bit higher. I guess I was really looking for that great deal. One of the volunteers was at Walmart and was telling someone about the great prices here. I didn't find not one and I looked for over an hour. See the pictures. I really wanted to buy something. I know it's for a good cause. The place looks great. read more

Today's shopping was met by multiple customer service issues. While some of the volunteers are warm and cordial, others are dismissive and abrupt. For example, I overheard a supervisor chastising a volunteer to pay attention... we should never hear that.. humiliating and awkward. i asked for help to find clothing and was told to go to another thrift store down the road, they are cheaper. I was giving a quick hug to a friend while in line and told move up - not in a polite way. Finally, i had spent a significant amount of money- had two bags and my receipt and card were just laid on the counter- with the cashier calling 'next!' - not giving me an opportunity to put my card away so i quickly grabbed my things and set them down elsewhere so I could gather myself. i felt rushed and pushed and left with the upset of being diminished. I am in stroke recovery from September but don't have outward signs- maybe I moved slower or just need time -- still everyone, no matter, deserves a little kindness. i remember this happening last year, which was the last time i went, and now know why I won't go again. Thank goodness the rest of my shopping elsewhere was met with kindness plus. i hope the manager helps the staff/volunteers to care about making the people they serve respected. read more

Only because "0" is not an option. Quoted one price for my Caucasian friend unbeknownst to them she was looking for dishes for me. When I walked over, & began to pack up the dishes the price suddenly increased. Not a very good charitable attitude to have ladies... Shame On You! read more

Great place to donate, knowing all the community outreach these lovely ladies accomplish! They only sell the best, so no junk donations.

I LOvE this place!! They had some amazing finds. Too bad I live in Missouri!! I would have bought half the store!!

Waaaaay overpriced. Some of the items are more expensive than retail. They do have a cheaper section in the back but nothing worth buying. Very nice people though! read more

What a surprise as I walked in the door to the most classy thrift store I've been to. Greeted by a volunteer. Displays looked very Professional. Great selection. Quality items. Very reasonable prices. Beautiful displays. What more could you ask for?

Excellent Store!!!! The prices on almost new items at less than half the price. I found several items with big store labels still on the clothing. Wow! Not a thrift store like Goodwill. This store sells high quality, "gently handled" name brand items. As soon as I walked into the Assistance League "Fabulous Finds on Fulton" store, I found an attractive wonderful facilities. The volunteer staff were friendly to me and directed me to the sections I was most interested in finding. Many of these ladies are not professional sales people but are women willing to give their time to promote philanthropic children programs. I was impressed to learn of all the programs that they promote with sales proceeds. After buying a hat, a tie and several books, I left with a smile on my face after saving money and helping a well deserving program. read more

I have to change my review to 4 stars because someone took the time to reply to my post and apologize. Thank you! I will definitely come back. read more

This is, hands down, my favorite go-to thrift shop. Why? Let me count the ways. 1. The store is brightly lit and clean. 2. The clothing is organized so that items are easy to find. 3. The clothing is clean, freshly pressed, and honestly looks far better than new clothing hanging in most department stores. 4. The clothing is definitely not overpriced. Compare a nice woman's coat here for $10 - $20 with a woman's coat at any number of other big, chain thrift stores for $15 - $40. I've picked up a number of wool coats and a really nice London Fog with its zip in lining intact for $10 or less. I picked up a pair of Thinsulate gloves that fit me perfectly for only $3. Sure, you have to know your prices or you might find some items that seem high. I picked up a lovely tablecloth with 6 placemats and 6 napkins for $8 in just the color I've been looking for to use for my holiday table. 5. While most of the clothing in the store is brand name familiar to most folks, some items are kept in the "better" clothing area. These can be more than some folks wish to pay, but if it's just the item you've been looking for then the price might be worthwhile. 6. They have had a wonderful selection of craft items, housewares (including the really great kitchen floor mat I picked up for $3 - it was brand new), books, and linens. 7. Did I mention that everything is clean and freshly pressed and/or steamed? That makes a big difference to me. 8. Twice a year they have these amazing sales. 9. There is a nice selection of jewelry. 10. There are special events. 11. I purchased a 9' Christmas tree last year for $25. It is gorgeous and looks beautiful and picked up several wonderful holiday decorations and ornaments as well. 12. The mannequins are well done to show not only a piece of clothing, but accessories you might consider wearing with it. 13. At the recent boot sale, someone took home a pair of Munroes for about $25 or so, normally priced above $200. As for the bad experiences that some have had, remember that these ladies are all volunteers. They do not get paid. I've never had a bad experience in this store. I have had bad experiences at a variety of department stores - all except Nordstroms. I visit at least once a week and have added many fine pieces to my wardrobe. read more

This is one of the nicest thrift/resale stores I have been to. They have a great selection of merchandise and the prices are right. The programs they support with the revenue from the store meet community needs. The store is clean and the service is good. The ladies that work in the store are all volunteers. No paid staff which means more money goes to programs. Good job Assistance League! read more
