Goodwill has so many locations all over Sacramento for donations. This one in Alta Arden Express Way is one of the most convenient locations to drop off your donations and go. I have been using another Goodwill location for so many years. I went there without even checking and found out that they were gone! I checked with my Yelp app and found this one is close to my work that I pass by in front of it all the way, but I just have not registered this location in my brain! The donation bay is next to the building in front of the road. It is not behind the building or far away from the road. This location is very convenient for me to drop off the bags and drive straight to the parking lot exit. So fast, so easy! I like this location. I'm coming here for my donations from now on!

Not only do they not give discounts on damaged diapers but they peddle adult games to kids!!

Um Wth happened to this place? I remember 1 yr ago me and my son came in here a few times. I loved it I bought so many things. Now I see it messy. Lot of clothes on the floor. No one wants to buy a chewed up Barbie hand by the way. Also the music they were playing disgusting. There was a song talking about panties it said panties so many times in this song. I Hope management or owner of this goodwill I mean there's children and classy ppl who want to shop not wanting to hear gross music about panties. Like wth. Oh and there was a board game empty no one wants an empty bored game. Like what happened? When I exited the store there was about half a dozen ripped tags on the ground. Would I come here again yeah. I would. Hopefully it stays organized with not looking too messy.

Deseret is great go to for basics. Need some new jeans, a blazer, mens shirt, etc? I always check here first because they have a large array of things & sizes. My guy is tall, so we have a harder time. I also always check for blankets & fabric, as well as office supplies. Yep, for my home office. The outside area is an adventure, you never know what you will find. A few weeks ago I came for shorts and found a painting! I used to find great clothes, but sadly Deseret is getting so much "plastic" donations. Shein is taking over. I sew, so I would always find some great pieces to alter to my size & liking. The mens section is still good, but the womens is thin. Parking is always easy. The store is very clean, and Managers are very approachable for questions & pricing (the ladies, the men always seem stressed out and not so approachable. Just my opinion). The prices have gone up a little, but are still very good. My daughter lives in LA, and we always stop in when she is here. A Sacramento gem.

He raved about this thrift store. So I saved it till my mom showed up and we put it on our list. Google maps got us there without a hitch, or almost. We did have to do a U-Turn to get into their driveway, which wasn't bad, the traffic stopped ahead of us due they had a signal so all was good. This is a huge thrift store. You can't miss it from the road. It's on Watt Ave before the bowling alley if you are coming from the 50. They used to be behind a thriving shopping center, but that fizzled out so I'm rarely in this area anymore now that my grandma doesn't bowl there anymore. They have everything here include furniture that they will deliver. That's a surprise. I didn't inquire the fee, but I bet it's worth it. When you walk in they have a board that tells you what colors are on sale. I bought a few things that were 25% off and got one top for 50% off. What a deal. I bet people shop by tag colors and go for the white ones as those items are only $1. What a deal. I didn't see any white, tags, but I wasn't really looking for things by tag colors. I was more focused on things that I wanted and if it had the right colored tag than good for me. They have so much clothing. And I'm mostly focused on clothing and Puzzles. Everything is divide by type and size. There are several alcoves. One had women's dresses in it, which I looked at, but didn't see anything that was worth trying on. I found 2 sets of winter PJs for $6.99 for the set. One silky set in maroon and a 2nd set that was cotton and had maroon stripes along with grey and white. I got a black and white Calvin Kline T-Shirt with Calvin in Silver lettering for $2. I got 2 100 piece puzzles for a friend who had a stroke recently. She's going stir crazy and said 100 piece puzzle would be perfect. And theses weren't kiddy designs either so these were perfect. One was of sea shells and the other is of a decorated elephant. Those were only $1.50 each. They were 25% off what a good deal. And I got 2 other tops for $3.99 each. Back to the puzzles. They are the only store we when to today that had such a wide variety of 100 piece puzzles. I was really impressed by their selection. They also had puzzles with more pieces in them, but none of those got our attention. I don't know if they have restrooms, but they do have fitting rooms. They allow you to take 5 items in at a time, which is totally fair. With dressing rooms going out of style these days, this is a total find. They have so much clothing, they even have a blue room with the more desirable items in it. I looked around, but didn't see anything that caught my eye. Nothing stood out to me as being as a good find. They were pricier than I wanted to pay for those types of items. If you did find anything there you are asked to pay for them separately and not take them out of the area till they are paid for. Parking is ok. They have a lot right out front that was full when we arrived, we parked by the side of the building which was more convenient for me in pulling in and backing out. The other parking lot looked tight. I'm totally sold on this thrift store. I'm going to put it into our rotation.

This takes me to a visit to the Arden-Arcade neighborhood where I am reviewing "St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store". Located directly on Watt Ave and adjacent to Butano Dr, the current building has been around roughly since 2008 (they were at a larger building prior to this). The parking lot is actually quite generous and can accommodate quite a few vehicles for customers. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 2/21/2026 at around 1:00pm. The place was absolutely packed with shoppers. One interesting thing to point out about this store is the overall building design. The entire interior has a very different floorplan. Rather than being a square or rectangular shape, it has a unique entrance that leads towards the furniture and book/movie area (much like two different stores joining forces). However, this place has a lot to choose from. You will see an abundance of shirts, sweaters, coats, pants, hats, and shoes available for men, women, and children. They also offer a lot of games, toys, home products, kitchen items, bowls, glassware, cups, small electronics, books, audio (CD's), video (VHS tapes/DVD's), and even musical instruments. However, if you're in need of furniture, this place is as good as it gets. Here you will find recliners, living room groups, dinette sets, curio cabinets, bookcases/bookshelves, even grandfather clocks. Best of all, prices on all of this is very affordable. When it comes down to it, "St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store" in Sacramento is a very well-run business. It is very well lit, the customers are very helpful, and much of the merchandise is in very good condition. Even though it was packed during my most recent visit, I didn't feel cramped or claustrophobic. And with very generous hours being open 10:00am-6:00pm daily, this place is an above average thrift store. My rating, a respectable four stars.

Out of the various thrift stores in Sacramento and the surrounding areas, "Noah's Ark Thrift &…read moreGift" has got to be one of the cleanest places I have been to. Located directly on Watt Ave (and just south of Whitney Ave) in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood of Sacramento, this place has been operating since mid-2024. Prior to them vacating this space, this was once a furniture store with other various businesses before that including a dollar store and video game store. Hopefully Noah's Ark will stick around for quite awhile. A little bit of backstory about this company; the money and revenue that is generated here helps support the ministry in Ukraine which helps families of the soldiers that have had to serve the frontlines. This includes fallen heroes as well as soldiers who have had to endure losing limbs that have to face very intense rehabilitation after their service in the Ukrainian military. To me, this is a huge impact when I know my money is going towards a very positive cause. The exterior parking lot has more than enough space as the two separate times I have been here, finding a spot to park has been a breeze. There are also several other small businesses that share this parking lot. As for the thrift store itself, the place is absolutely clean to a tee. Upon entry, I was greeted by the young man behind the counter. Store hours are very generous as they are open for business Monday-Thursday from 10am-6pm and Friday-Saturday from 9am-7pm while being closed every Sunday. As for the inside of this place, everything is laid out exceptionally well. You will find a huge assortment of glasses, kitchenware, vintage and near-new clothing/apparel, jewelry, books/CD's/DVD's, solid wood furniture, and much more, all in very excellent condition. The cleanliness and organization of Noah's Ark really shows how much care and thought they put into their business. During both my visits, I found a name-brand shirt and some very nice kitchen items that looked nearly brand new and at reasonable prices. With generous hours, friendly service, and a nice variety of great finds, I am giving "Noah's Ark Thrift & Gift" a unanimous five-star rating.

Reason being is that this particular location is where the very first "Tower Records" once stood as well as being the first free-standing music store that once stood from 1960-2009. It was the primary go-to spot for vinyl records, cassette tapes, CD's, books, and one of the spots to purchase concert tickets before online was even a thing. Jump forward to the present day and Goodwill did a fairly decent job keeping the floorspace intact. Additionally, the large neon light that reads the Tower Records - It's A Global Thing as well as the lettering that reads "Classical" (where classical music was once sold) is still intact and being shown for all to see. Located at the Country Club Plaza on busy Watt Ave in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento, this Goodwill neighbors Country Club Lanes and a Popeye's fast food restaurant. However, Sam's Hof Brau has been closed indefinitely due to a fire that struck there back in 2023. I will say that a major caveat is the cramped parking lot. When you park, you are so close to other vehicles to a point where you fear getting a door-ding. Therefore, I parked far away hoping nobody parks close to me; even more so since my car is still relatively new. The donation area is to the immediate right and on any given day, it can create a small traffic nightmare on the busier days. As for the interior layout of this Goodwill, everything is well laid out and easily accessible. This location is also quite larger than some of the other Goodwill's in the greater Sacramento area which allows for more merchandise to be placed inside. I will say that the clothing/apparel selection is organized but a major drawback is that there are no fitting rooms available. When I approached an employee, he told me that you can buy your merchandise then try it on in the bathroom (located at the very rear of the store). And if it doesn't work, you may return it. To me, that is kind of backwards as it can create more of a hassle than having an actual fitting room. At least I left without buying any clothes. All in all, the Country Club "Goodwill" on Watt Ave is just average at-best for me. Some of the electronics and/or appliances looked like they didn't even work which tells me if you're really getting your money's worth or not. With that said and done, your mileage may vary but you just might come across a hidden treasure. Therefore, I am giving this Goodwill just an average three-star rating. The hours though are respectable as they are open 7 days a week from 9am-9pm. Finally, I dearly miss Tower Records but its a sign of the times in this ever-changing world that we live in.
