My wife wanted to get reacquainted with bike riding after a hiatus that lasted many years. Before investing too much into a bike, we wanted something basic and affordable to practice on before deciding on which bike she will buy. We saw online that Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen was having a special promotion on Pi Day (3.14). After looking around, we found a good fit but it needed a basic tune up and cleaning. To our surprise, the staff let us take it home at no charge, we were truly surprised and very grateful. When we are ready to move up to the next one, we will bring this one back to SBK as our way of paying it forward.

This is a favorite stop for us on 2nd Saturday. Beer, bands, and free food what's not to love? The beer is only $5, and the bands always sound good. A wide variety of people are usually here, people watching is great. The warm nights in Sacramento make this a great place to linger.

Hands down the best experience fixing my vintage 80s Peugeot bike! Mike was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, showing me how to install the missing cable, derailleur, and replace the inner tube. TBH, I never knew there were so many details involved in designing a bike. Now, I'm beyond amazed by what a fantastic and finely crafted machine a little bike can be. Hooray! I now get to enjoy some nice rides with my favorite bike again. Thanks a lot to everyone at the Bicycle Kitchen. You really made my day!

My wife found this place through a coworker. She found a really nice road bike for less money, and safer and supports a great cause, than through Craigslist's. We just bought a second road bike for our son. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and even made sure everything worked as new. An incredible experience. In addition, they teach people how to fix their bikes! Better than any bike store.

I accepted that because I too do not like to work on a holiday. Instead John came in early today and worked on the bike so I wouldn't have to go ten days plus the already three days after the flat tire before I took the bike in. I just picked up my bike today and biked two miles on it as soon as I came home. Bike rides smoother than before!!!

He had just purchased from them... and while he was there purchasing it from them He asked if they could help to put on the tube... first the man says "$10 oh oh I mean $20" my son said " I only have 10 but if I help, can you do it for 10$" ...he just also purchased more items for that bike from that store just a couple days before that... the guy proceeded to tell him "nope I need $20" and my son said "even with my help you still need me to pay 20$ and the man proceeded to tell him "Yep pay me $20 and you can help".... my son is 13years old and has been coming by himself with his own money for a whole year now and purchasing things and only asked for some help with putting on the tube offering the money he had only left over which was $10 cause the tube was $12 but he had $22 in his pocket.... My son's never put a tube in a tire before and as his mother I do not know nothing about bikes... lol... but this was pretty hurtful to him.. He came home and was very sad and said that he's been going to them for one year and knows them pretty well and they wouldn't even help him or tell him how to put it on. I told him we will google how to put it on and don't worry about it. We'll find a new bike shop to go to. How can you guys not help a little kid out that is offering to help to whatever you guys need and he had half the money and he comes there all the time and also brings new customers to you that are also his friends. I just feel that this was sad and they could have done better by even just telling him how to do it even if you didn't want to put the tube in!!!

The kids' bikes are in the back right corner. Everything looks really nice and seems to be good quality. The service was excellent. All my questions were answered and they had my cruiser ready within 30 minutes. The parking lot is free to park in. The shop is wheelchair accessible. They have stairs and a ramp at the entrance, along with automatic doors. You can walk around the city while you're waiting for your bike. There's several cafes and restaurants within 5-10 minute walking distance. You could visit the State Capitol. Forewarning: You're going to pay, at minimum, $600 for an adult bike. Even a kid's bike starts at $350... If you need extra parts and accessories, I would recommend you buy them off of Amazon or somewhere cheaper. To give you an example: a tire pump here is over $100.

The shop was airy and clean we I love the Trek store interior design always sending positive vibes. They had everything from helmets, jerseys to one piece stem handle bars. The bike was thoroughly serviced inspected by Nate and their service mechanic before my wife took it for a test ride in the next door parking lot. She loved the bike it was too perfect we bought it. The only thing missing is the bike shops own unique jersey like from their old City Bike shop days. Maybe they'll bring em back on day would love to represent them. I went in to get my bike tuned up and tires changed because it was due time. I rode my bike once a week, love my bike, generally no issues at all. The initial quote was $225 for tune up and new tires change (me bringing the tires.) When Damien assessed the bike (the owner), he said there were some things wrong with my brakes and he wanted to bleed them and fix the brake wiring. I had no issues with my brakes whatsoever but he seemed honest at the time, so I agreed. The new quote was for $420 for fixing brakes, tune up, and new tires. Meanwhile my bike is in the shop 1 week now. $420 was very expensive to me, but I just went with his opinion. Fast forward, this guy Damien calls me again and says he found issues with my wheel and needs to redo some of the hardware on the rims, he literally over the phone told me it might be $30 more. I say fine whatever. Damien calls me to tell me the bike is done, this is two weeks now. And I go to pick it up. When I pick it up the bike was $610!!!!! This was absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I argue with him because he never ever told me the price would be in the $600 range! I would have never agreed to that. I have to argue with him a little and he only takes the total down to $570! This bike shop is completely unprofessional. At what point would I approve $200 worth of fixing on rims? For my total to go from $420 to $610. Damien is completely dishonest, and never told me the costs and added so many unapproved costs. Why would I pay you $40 to clean my bike, I never asked you to do that yet you charged me for that! I will never bring my bike again to this place. The owner is a crook, the receipt does not lie!
