I'm new to cycling and have a budget bike (bought from Walmart) and so naturally, if something feels off, I'm no expert on the subject. During my lunch, I've been taking my bike to various bike shops around the midtown Sacramento area to browse around and ask general cycling questions or assistance with my bike if I feel like something doesn't feel right. Overall, my experience with various shops have been just okay. I would get the feeling that because I do not have an expensive bike, that I'm looked at differently. However, with Pacos, the staff here are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I brought my bike in with some concerns regarding my gears shifting, and Pancho took my bike onto the rack to inspect it. I was prepared to be given a diagnosis and perhaps a quote to see how much they would charge if I had them fix/adjust it for me. Instead, Pancho just took it upon himself to make these micro adjustments himself and even identified that my front derailleur was crooked and my front wheel was loose. Again, Pancho just made those adjustments himself to make sure everything was properly before I left the store. On top of that, I was not charged a dime. Totally unexpected, but highly appreciated! Fast forward to my second time coming to this shop, I was greeted by different staff. Yet, it was still the same high, friendly energy as the last time. Ayrton was there to assist and help me identify and issue I was having with my brakes. The way he spoke to me and went above and beyond to find answers he himself didn't know was much appreciated. Ayrton is a very friendly and outgoing guy and made sure I was taken care of before I left. The culture and energy of the staff here have been a fantastic experience and I highly recommend any cyclist to visit this store! Pacos held a Specialized bike for me for almost a week until I could pick it up. They assisted me as I made sure the frame was the correct one for me, and as I did some sidewalk ride tests. Beautiful and spotless shop with many bikes and accessories to choose from. Paco's Bike Shop is a really great spot. The store is beautifully set up, and of course they have amazing bikes to choose from (Specialized) which is nice. What really makes this shop stand out is how helpful the team is they answer all your questions and never try to sell you stuff you don't need. I brought in my older Specialized for a new saddle and also had my new trainer's cassette installed, and I'm glad I did. Shoutout to Brandon and Pancho they are super knowledgeable and really helpful, which I appreciated. They even have beer on tap for those waiting or who enjoy a drink while they shop, which is a fun touch. Service is quick when they can, I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Paco's is great! I've been using them since about when they opened. Their mechanics are excellent. I've had them do everything from small adjustments to full tune ups and the work is always fast and reasonably priced. They've always had any part I need and don't nickel and dime for little bolts or whatever. Recently, I was having trouble with a bike lock that I bought from Paco's. I locked my bike and the combination stopped working and the lock wouldn't open. Luckily, I was only about a block from Paco's, so I walked over to see if they could help. Right away, one of the guys grabbed some tools and walked over with me to my bike. I fully expected we would have to destroy the lock - no small feat since it was made of Kevlar. Turns out he knew some issues with the locks, specifically that a number or two will sometimes "drift" and that you can open the lock with a combo that's one number off. He gave it a couple of tries and sure enough, within a few minutes had the lock open without destroying it! No charge and wouldn't even let me buy him a coffee. Even before that, I was a dedicated customer, but that really sealed the deal. read more

We were recommended by a friend to come to this shop. It's a very clean, chill cool bike shop. The workers here are super knowledgeable and they know their stuff. It's awesome that they check/fix your bikes in front of you too. They also are very humble people, they don't rip you off or cheat you. The price was really good too. Thought it would cost more than $70 to check our bike but it was under $40 which was cool. We're happy and satisfied with their customer service and prices. A cool bike shop that serves beer! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about bikes, the biking community, and the golden nectar of the gods. I stopped in for a cold one on a hot day, and they only charged me $6.00 for a pint of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It could be one of the best prices for a draft in midtown. They sell it in cans too! I chatted with a couple employees between sips and learned a lot about the local bike scene. It was a good time and I'm looking forward to my next visit. Awesome customer service at Paco's! Pancho saved my ride! I was starting a gravel ride on my Specialized Creo with my husband on a spectacular winter day. My front brake was not working at all. We went to Paco's and the staff was so great! Pancho worked on my bike and determined that the part needed to be ordered on warranty. He did have a slightly scratched part on hand, so he installed it so that I could continue on my ride! While we waited!
