They have stairs and a ramp at the entrance, along with automatic doors. You can walk around the city while you're waiting for your bike. There's several cafes and restaurants within 5-10 minute walking distance. You could visit the State Capitol. Forewarning: You're going to pay, at minimum, $600 for an adult bike. Even a kid's bike starts at $350... If you need extra parts and accessories, I would recommend you buy them off of Amazon or somewhere cheaper. To give you an example: a tire pump here is over $100.

I received several calls telling me that the rim tape I got was not the correct width (which they were proven wrong) and that my brake housings would be inferior to the ones that were on the bike, again proven wrong after installation. But the real rub is the poor quality of the bar tape wrap (see photos). I spoke to John, who told me to bring the bike back in; however, based on my experiences, I am not confident they know what they are doing. I'm trying to get a refund on my credit card for the poor taping while working with the credit card company. I will never return to Natomas Bike Shop and would never recommend them.

I'm in my 20s now and know absolutely zilch about bikes. My chain snapped and I brought it into the bike kitchen. I paid $10 cash for the shop fee and immediately a volunteer helped me mount up my bike and get to work. He was so welcoming and fun to work with. We evaluated whether or not my chain was salvageable, and decided we should take a few links from a chain in the back, and add it to mine. It was only $3, and from there he taught me everything about repairing a chain. He was so nice and helpful, I used the tools and he kept watch to make sure I was doing it right. Sometimes that can be stressful, but he made sure it was a fun environment and we laughed almost the whole time. I could not recommend this place more. For them, its really just about the bikes. It felt amazing to fix it myself, and learn something about my bicycle. The volunteer also helped inspect my bike to make sure nothing else needed fixing. He explained it like, "you already paid the shop fee, lets see what else we can do". I hope I learn enough to volunteer here one day. Truly a 10/10 experience.

When we finally made it here to pick up the bike we were greeted by Nate and his dog with a warm welcome. The Madone bike was in immaculate form. My wife was super happy we had so much laughs and info with Larry and Nate about the history of their shop and bikes. The shop was airy and clean we I love the Trek store interior design always sending positive vibes. They had everything from helmets, jerseys to one piece stem handle bars. The bike was thoroughly serviced inspected by Nate and their service mechanic before my wife took it for a test ride in the next door parking lot. She loved the bike it was too perfect we bought it. The only thing missing is the bike shops own unique jersey like from their old City Bike shop days. Maybe they'll bring em back on day would love to represent them. Later, I received an email from Velofix saying the time was actually 11 AM-1 PM, but I didn't notice the change right away. On the morning of the appointment, I called Velofix to clarify, and the representative told me it was too late to adjust anything and that I should've contacted them earlier. I let it go and agreed to keep the 11-1 window, rearranging my work schedule to be available. No one showed up. At 1:30 PM, I had to call my wife to let her know, and she followed up with Velofix -- only to be told the case had been closed because the service was "out of scope." No one informed me. I was literally on the phone with them that same morning and they said nothing about not coming. This whole experience showed a complete lack of communication and disregard for people's time. I won't be using Velofix again and wouldn't recommend them.

Don't even get me started on the attitude of the shop workers at Mike's Bikes in Folsom. SO RUDE. From booking the appointment to the actual service (by Wayne) the experience with Velofix was very friendly and professional and easy. Not to mention their rates were comparable to the shops where we had to haul the bikes in ourselves. To have the service come to you, have it fixed in under an hour, and everyone to be friendly about it? I didn't think this was possible! Also, after the last flat tire repair, where the shop had the bike for weeks, the bike did not sound the same. According to Wayne, whoever put our bike back together didn't do it properly and there were a ton of loose nuts etc. which I 100% believe because the bike did not sound the same when we were riding it. Wayne tightened all that stuff up for us (thanks Wayne!). Anyway, all around a great experience and we know who will be getting our business from now on. Also, to anyone researching bike repair places, I highly recommend looking on the bike manufacturer's website to see their recommended repair shops. Velofix was recommended by Rad Bikes and you can really tell the difference when someone is comfortable working with a particular bike brand.
