Always long lines, dirty store and rude employees. I am sure it will only get worse with Sysco buying them. I wish we had an alternative

Awesome place, very friendly staff. Surprisingly didn't have what I needed but I now know what they offer. Shopped on a day pass.

Ask the Community - Restaurant Depot

If I want a few items in bulk just for my home, can I shop here if I don't own a business and it's just for my home?

Do I need to be a restaurant owner to walk in and shop here or can purchase for my home/family. Does this place require a yearly membership like Costco?

No just go in and get a day pass

Chefs' Toys is opened puplic with no membership required. We usually shop here for all restaurants…read moreneeds. This place has almost everything you need for either commercial or home use kitchen. Price's comparable- not the greatest price but acceptable for large quantities purchase. We never have any issue at this store as we never returned any items before. Except for very last time June 2026. We bought an item in-store around $85 on June 15th. Staff was so friendly and helpful "went above beyond to help us find the size we asked for". Everything was done quickly and as expected. Then on June 29th 2026 we came back to return it because the size is not match to the one we already have at restaurant. Product's never used. "At the time we walked in the store. Staff welcomed us immediately. The right hand side cashier from the entrance, the guy took care of us. After knowing that we came just to return the product. He checked the paper receipt promptly . Without asking for anything else he just said "oh this one is purchased with cashier named "J...". He moved us to "J.." counter and asked us just wait there. Around 5 - 7 mins later, store is very quiet. At 2:55pm only us and another one customer in store with 5-6 staff went around counter, aisles. We were still standing there in front of "J..." counter. The man took care of us in the beginning, made loudspeaker announcement to look for "J..." at the back of store then he also disappeared. We still kept waiting in front of counter. 10 mins passed, no sign of "J..." 's appearance. We almost quit, one of us decided to go home and come back in another day. The cashier / customer service lady from the other side of store came and offered help. She moved us to her counter. At this moment only she said: next time when we wanted to returned anything. Just come to her counter. The other side with sell associates when we have some other issues or questions about items. She done the returned very quickly just in 3 mins. Thank you so much for her help. If not we already went back home unhappily." Sorry to leave 3 stars for store good selection, nice clean store. Some of helpful staff. Writing this review to bring this issues to your attention. We were really depressed that day. It will make more sense if store has sign like "return here". Customer like us do not have to waste much time just to wait for same sell man who sold the product in the first visit.

Great place to get meat in bulk! Need bags of chips for…read moreschool snacks and many other snacks. All Costco Cards work.

Service - like most Costcos which have workers floating around red vests, most of it was hands-off…read moreaka do-it-yourself "service" although I did have a gentleman ask me if I was looking for something so that was a plus. Selection- probably good if you have a business? There are a lot of things in quantities appropriate for a place for commerce. My house? Not so much. Only have one smaller dog and she doesn't need 75 lb. bags of kibble each time. Value - probably good if you have a business. Most folks do not, though, and it's funny when they justify huge purchases for a smaller family. Guess that's a Costco thing in general though. It's great that things come in smaller sizes. Individual sizes, in fact, but I do not need 96 smaller containers of nacho cheese sauce. Might even have a difficult time trying to give that much away. There are plenty of things like plates, napkins and utensils to accommodate the masses. My immediate family is not massive, however. So the value found in numbers is lost because most of it would to go waste. In fact, they don't have as many things for individuals here. No food court, no fuel station. We got a bottle of water for a quarter and I think you can find that in other stores made for smaller parties. Parking was simple because fewer regular people frequent places like this. That's the whole reason for it. Their target audience is: (obviously) business owners. Was fun to see the different types of goods but the portions are out of control for smaller families like mine. You can find individual servings with the caveat that you'd need to purchase hundreds of those servings, so savings for smaller parties is minimized. Maybe throw a big party and it'd be worth it to shop here. Maybe.

This store is addictive - they have just about everything you can imagine related to cooking…read more As the name of the place implies, they really are geared towards restaurants... but in most cases, the home chef can get things here too. This visit, I was on a mission to find a very specific type of glassware. As I suspected, they had what I was looking for... but with glassware, unfortunately, it's a bit of a gamble as to how much you'll have to buy because they only sell by the case. The gamble part (for a non-restaurant person) relates to the different sized cases. Some of the cases have a dozen glasses, some more. In my particular situation, the case size for the glass I liked was three dozen... and I didn't want to do three dozen... so I struck out. That was just luck of the draw. I cannot leave this store empty handed, so I hit the utensil aisle and grabbed a couple of sweet spatulas!

They're definitely is much to look at and a variety of different utensils, durable equipment, stoves, fridges, freezers, etc. They are on the higher price, however. Some of the restaurant equipment reminded me more of diner equipment. The style of plates reminded me of a Denny's or an IHOP. It wasn't what I was looking for, but that doesn't mean there aren't good products at this store. It's just not for my needs at this time.

I really love having a Costco in my neighborhood…read more Saves so much time from having to shop at locations across town. Though I wish they had a gas station. It is super busy on weekends though. Best time to shop if you can is early on weekdays. They have a huge parking lot though it can be a bit of a mess to get out of sometimes. I'm a big fan of the sweet treats at the food court-especially the sundaes. The employees are generally pretty nice here even though they are always super busy.

Is there a better food deal on this earth than the $1.50 Hot Dog Combo at the Costco Food Court?…read more If there is,I've never found it. So many trips to Costco have ended with an inexpensive yet quite filling hot dog in hand. I lather that thing up with mustard and drown it in onions-truly a little moment in heaven....and did I mention it's only $1.50. The Pepperoni Slice at $1.99 is a close second. Costco pizza when served hot off the presses, always hits the spot. On those very special Costco trips,I would do both the Hot Dog Combo and a slice of the Pepperoni-an overwhelmingly filling meal for less than $3.50-got to love it. The food court at this location on weekends or Friday nights can be so hectic-super busy. They have many tables and chairs in the food court where you can find a spot to enjoy your food but it's kind of madness. During the week,on those weekday visits to Costco, the food court is much more manageable and the service is lightning quick. A recent thing I've been really enjoying at the Costco Food Court is their offerings of creative sundaes that they have had for $2.99 or less depending on the toppings. I've really enjoyed the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae and the now discontinued Caramel Brownie Sundae-both were excellent. In closing, I truly believe that no trip to Costco is complete without a visit to the Costco Food Court-I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
