This store is so poorly staffed that you can't count on being able to pick up a prescription in any reasonable timeframe. I once came and they had closed the pharmacy altogether because no one had shown up. There's a sweet neurodivergent pharmacy staffer that sometimes handles the drive up window and the counter by himself, and he runs a million miles an hour to keep things moving. It's employee abuse, from my perspective. Hire adequate staff! read more

I came to this pharmacy thinking it would be a fast pick up and go. They told me since they just got the prescription it would be a 20-25 minute wait and I waited over an hour for them to not give a response. They seem to be all over the place and not working as a team. I am in pain waiting for my prescription just for them to take their sweet time. I understand things take time but it just seems so unorganized here and I will not be returning to this pharmacy. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Unfortunately you have to give this business a 1-star review in order to describe what a poorly run pharmacy they have. They don't deserve this 1-star review. Why the critical review? Here's why. My wife's doctor called in a much needed prescription to this pharmacy which is the only pharmacy open after hours. The doctor called my wife and told her prescription would be available there. Shortly thereafter, I went to get this medication and drove up to their drive-up window. After a few minutes had gone by and not being acknowledged, I pressed the call button and the pharmacist answered, I saw her pick up the phone. I was told it would be a few minutes as they were really busy. I could see only two people working in the pharmacy and quite the amount of customers at the counter. This was a Saturday evening and you would think that the pharmacy could do better than two people. Well after waiting for more than 10 minutes, a woman employee took the name of the person the medication was intended for, went to the shelf, came back and told me that they were out of the medication. I asked her, "if you knew you were out of the medication, why didn't you express that to the doctor who called it in?" Well, she told me that they just take the order and that any Walgreens could fill it. Now mind you that this medication is very popular and high in demand. The person then gave me a list of all the Walgreens in the county which had their respective phone numbers and the amount of pills available at each location. Then the person told me to try and call any of the pharmacy's to see who had it. Problem with that is all these pharmacies were closed! Really poor advice! I called them all and yes they were all closed. Why tell someone to do that when they know they are closed. Again poor service. I left without the much needed prescription and angry like none other. This pharmacy is the only pharmacy in Contra Costa County that is open 24-hours. One would think that the pharmacist in charge of ordering this type of drug would have it available knowing that it was high in demand and that the weekend was upon us. Clearly all the pharmacies on the list had plenty of this medication and I believe the pharmacy could have done an in-store transfer of medication so that they could have it in stock. So, when your doctor has to call in a prescription for you, I strongly suggest that you avoid this Walgreens or any of these Walgreens for that matter as their service is downright terrible! If you do have to get your prescription filled there, have the doctor's office confirm they have the medicine so you won't have to waste a lot of time and gas for nothing. I do not recommend Walgreens for prescription services unless you want to be disappointed or wait in long lines. read more

I walk in to pick up something in cosmetics for a last min save. I notice most of the items I needed were kept behind the register. The only employee I see, Mayra, was at the front register so I take my other items and asked her about the cosmetics behind the register. She wasn't so happy that I didn't "press the button" in the cosmetics aisle for someone to help. Ok no prob, I'll go back. So I go back and just wait for the supervisor to grab it in the back. Supervisor was friendlier. When I go back to the front, thankfully there was a second register with a friendly cashier. Wish I saw her name tag though. I've been forced to begin using Walgreens as my pharmacy due to insurance and it is absolutely miserable. I write this as I sit in my boiling car having been in the drive through line for 40 minutes (in the middle of the day, on a Monday). When I finally got to the counter I asked if it was typically faster to go inside. She said no and told me about how long the inside lines often are. Great. They clearly really need to do something about this unacceptable level of staffing/service. It is clearly a trend based on the other reviews here. Not to mention a few times I have come and the people helping me haven't been able to input my insurance correctly. The first time I thought maybe something was wrong with my card. The second time, a supervisor quickly identified the issue. But it's obvious that their people all need better training. Came to pick up my prescription. It was supposed to be ready the day before. Waited in line for 10 minutes. The rude lady at the counter told me that they hadn't filled the prescription. Come back tomorrow. I explained that i needed it filled right away. 20 minutes later, they told me it was ready. I was overcharged for the medication. They claimed that they don't accept my insurance anymore. The vibe of the employees in the store was terrible. It really must be a miserable place to work. While waiting in line at the pharmacy, a staffer from cosmetics gave me a flyer about the specials in her dept and recommended I stop by. Hey, nice marketing Walgreens! Not only did my arrival 2 hours later yield no results, but my return 4 hours later was met by a pharmacist closing their window because they are apparently no longer running 24 hours. Was trying to get a hold of the pharmacy. Was on hold for over 1 hour and 15 minutes, before someone said hello, not even 1 second passed before I was placed back on hold. The other negative reviews are spot on. This location has incredibly long wait times and is consistently out of stock of basic medications. Half of the staff at the pharmacy (especially the lead pharmacist) are incredibly rude, impatient, and generally unhelpful. The other half are really nice, just completely overworked. Since they changed their hours to close at 9 there is absolutely no reason to visit this location. Literally any other Walgreens in the area is better and won't be unnecessarily mean to you. Don't go here, drive an extra 5 minutes to go anywhere else. read more

If only I could give zero stars. The pharmacy at this location is horrible. I scheduled an appointment for a Covid booster. When I arrived, I was told to wait in line. Fifteen minutes later I'm checked in and told I had to wait six months after my August vaccine to receive a booster. That's not what the CDC says, so I guess Walfuckingreens has its own stupid rules. What a waste of my time. I am 65 years old with COPD and these people are putting the health and welfare of their customers at risk. I am no longer a customer. read more

This was my preferred Walgreens location. However, it appears that the pandemic has had an effect on staff, stock, and service. There is one cashier at the front, but no associates on the floor if customers are in need of assistance. No restroom , and understaffed. They have one person for a whole line of almost 10 customers. When I went in to use the restroom since home is a bit further away it was out of service. Okay typical. But my issue is there was one worker at the cashier and he looked fairly stressed being all alone and I don't think he should be forced to take on the whole store of customers all by his lonesome. Nobody spoke to us once. There was a lady in the back rearranging or whatever she was doing , nothing too important that you can't help your fellow coworkers. This not so good review is for the conditions they are forced to work in solo I feel bad for them. If there was other workers they were nowhere to be found. Pharmacy is completely understaffed. Waited a very long time to get a one-time inhaler. It had no refills but I got a text notification that my refill was delayed. Hmm not cool, I never requested that nor were there any refills and somehow it got put on auto refill? Avoid this place if you can. read more

I went into walgreens last night with a family and friend to shop grab a few items while they waited for a prescription from the pharmacy. I was done sooner than they were because for some reason it was really busyy at the time of everyone getting medicine. While I was waiting for them I noticed the line moving a bit slow and there was a couple or maybe dad and daughter that just cut everyone. I was a little annoyed but whatever, no one really said anything and by the time my people got to the counter they had to wait to return to pick up medicine anyway, so the wait was a little longer than I expected. I debated giving this store a 1 star or 2 star because they way they handled a customer. Another customer returns to pick up medicine and walks to front of line just like the dad and daughter did previously but was not treated as fair and equal. The fact I know the customer name and the person distributing the medicine is terrible. Sandra and Collete. I know everyone has a job to do but when the person works somewhere and starts getting loud with the customers thats a no no. You would expect Walnut Creek/ Pleasant Hill, wherever this location is to be a little more professional than this. I don't usually care about writing reviews but today's special. I needed two things, toilet paper and a clipper card refill and thought "great this should take a few minutes at my local Walgreens and be a quick trip." Instead this is what happened. Upon arrival at 2:30pm today, Sunday April 11th, there is one cashier available and 6 people waiting in line. All of which are grumpy and complaining audibly causing people to start encroaching on each other not observing the 6 ft marks on the floor. No one was at the Photo area to refill my Clipper card, so I get in the line with the other 6 people with my toilet paper and wait... 20 minutes later I'm finally helped after the cashier says "I SEE THREE" twice on the intercom and finally someone else arrives to help. I say I'd like to refill my Cilpper please and the cashier says "you need to do this at the photo counter" I reply "yes I understand but no one's there so I thought perhaps you could help me." She said "No, you need to go there and press the button for a manager to help you." Ok... So I walk to the counter, press the button... 5 minutes passes and no one's come by, so I decide to just try to refill it on my phone. 10 minutes now, and I've managed to reset my forgotten password on my phone for the Clipper website. 15 minutes total has past and I've refilled my clipped on my phone and still no one has yet to show up and there's an audible message playing in the store "service assistance at the photo counter" that's played at least 3 times so far. As I leave frustrated that it took 45 minutes to get 2 things done, I say to the cashier "you need to hire more people, I've waited 15 minutes with no service." Her reply "it's not our fault, blame Walgreens." Fantastic customer service. No accountability, no empathy, no help. So here's my message that I'm gonna now share to Facebook, Yelp, and send directly to your support team in an attempt for "Walgreens" (executives) to listen. When you company is raking in $1 Billion Net Income for its most recent quarter, (Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) Q2 2021 earnings (cnbc.com)) you can afford to hire 2-3 more employees who you'll likely pay only less than $15/hour or $90k a year total cost ($30k annual x 3). Maybe if you did that, they'd be a little happier and not so overworked. Until then, I hope this negative review goes viral and your stock value decreases, perhaps then you'll listen. read more

My spouse had surgery today. I dropped the prescription for pain medication and antibiotics off at 1pm. They took copies of my insurance card and driver's license and told me it would be an hour. I come back at 5pm and one of the two medications aren't ready. They tell me it would be another hour, so I leave and call them an hour later. They tell me the prescription needs an insurance card and to come back. It's 7pm and I've been in line for an hour. The line is now around the corner (see photo) and the drive through is backed up into the parking lot. I'm seeing another reviewer posted a similar experience 6 months ago. This is not a one-off situation. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Today we went through the drive thru as they close the store after 11pm. We were the 4th car in line, with a 5th behind us. They have a clear sign on the window stating that walk ups to the window will not be served, but the woman in the vehicle behind us took it upon herself to walk up to the window, and they served her apparently without issue like its a regular thing. We asked about it and the pharmacist, who is an older Asian male, just said that she dropped off her prescription earlier. How does that make it ok? Must be nice to just cut in front of others. Walnut Creek, CA Walgreen. Pharmacy needs to answer their phones. Instead of picking up the phone and putting customers back on hold, why not say something. I was told I had one caller ahead of me and 20 mins later and being put on hold again several times I finally hung up. I'm a Customer also, would you tell a customer in front of you to wait on the side while you help other customers NO SO why are you doing it to Phone customers. This is not the 1st time it has happened. I plan on changing Pharmacys amd not recommending this one to anyone. Then I spoke to the manager, Ben. He definitely needs training on to speak and handle a disgruntled customer. He says to me. "Well 1st let's tone it down" then he is combative when I am upset, he says that if I don't want to listen then this conversation is over. His customer service phone are crap. Went to pick up a medication my doctor called in, and it took me 55 minutes in the drive thru to get it. There were only 3 cars in front of me. The only reason I didn't go inside is because I had COVID and felt it was safest to go through the drive thru. I can only assume the service inside is just as slow. What's the point in making an appointment for vaccine when there's a one hour wait (45 minutes to check in) and 15 minutes waiting fir the vaccine.
