I've been to three Walgreens pharmacies over the years. One was stellar (Menlo Park) one was annoying (Pinole) but only one has cause me to actually write a review.
I get 7 meds a day, yeah me, day in, day out. Been that way for years. I roll up to the drive though last night, only two of my meds are there. These two were the ones the MD needed to reup. The other 5 weren't ready, in fact, they say, they ALSO needed to be reuped. Now what are the odds that 7 meds from 2 different MDs all needed to be reuped at the same time. Do I hear a zero? You'd be right.
The clerk then gets the pharm. The pharm then checks the computer, which the clerk had already done. I suggest to him, having suggested the same to the clerk, they physically look for the Rx. Often the ones approved get processed fast while the ones needing a reup get delayed and they don't meet each other in the pickup bins. No one physically checks.
The pharm says he's going to get a manager. OK? Not sure what the manager will do but... Manager shows up. Manager asks if I have any questions, "No, I'm just waiting". Manager wanders off.
After 10 minutes of waiting, pharm not in view, I use the buzzer. "Any luck?" Pharm informs me cops have been called. ??? (I refrain from asking how they are going to help them find my Rx) I then ask the Pharm what about my Rx'es? About then the manager reappears. I walk the Pharm through all 5 of my Rx'es outstanding. Turns out a additional 2 also needed reup (Isn't that process automated when doing requests from the website?) and the other three THEY HAVE SOMEHOW FAILED TO FILL. So, presumably, I'll get all 5 in the morning, today.
The only good news the manager got to watch the Pharm document their mistakes for me. Cops, if actually called, never showed. They couldn't have done anything anyway since no one have even asked me to leave. If they had asked, I'd have gone, just showed up the next day, even more pissed.
I'm pissed, since this process took 30 minutes for them to find their mistakes, but I figure 'night shift' quality is at work here.
I go back today. After twenty minutes behind one car (perhaps he was having the same problems I had the night before) I pull up to find the drive through is suddenly 'closed', (open 24 hrs?) Cause they have too many people in line. I say I've been sitting here for 20 minutes. No luck. So I go inside to get my Rx and complain.
Silly me.
I ask the woman at the front of the line inside how long she's been waiting, about 5 minutes she says. During this time at least two other cars pull up to the drive thought, but can't figure out it's close because the closed sign is INSIDE the sun shade (can't be seen from outside).
Someone calls store management. Manager shows up and 'finds' an extra clerk. Clerk then opens the drive through window. "Are you f%$king kidding me?" (I'm still 4th in line). Finally my turn, drive through guy is jumping back an forth from drive line and inside line. I get my overdue meds, clerk asks me if I have any questions, I say "yes, who closed the drive through line?". He doesn't know, duh he wasn't there, "Can you ask?". Eventually Lidia a Pharm says she did (she didn't). I voice my dissatisfaction with their management. Clerk tells me if I'm rude he won't sell me my Rx'es. I say OK. We go back to counter, I get rung up, get my Rx's and receipt.
At some point in this process I'm informed by an elderly lady that it's pointless to complain, since they don't do anything. Perhaps, but she's old enough to probably have missed Yelps appearance. Plus I have the 'tell us how we did' codes on the receipt.
Having finally finished my business I am now free to be 'rude' I suggest Lidia polish up her resume. Window clerk guy tells me never to come back, since I'm 'rude'. I tell him, and everyone else watching the show, "This place is so f*&king screwed up I'm never coming back"
I recommend you avoid it as well.
The butchers bill:
One system screw up, not sending out two Rx reups to MDs.
One Pharm screw up, not filling three Rx'es that should have been filled.
Additionally taking 30 minutes to figure out what was wrong, rather than what should have been 3, perhaps 5, minutes of checking and telling me.
Wasting police resources, if they were actually called. If you want to get rid of an asshole, me apparently, you need to tell them to leave, BEFORE you go all -5-0- on them.
Closing a drive through window when there are people in the drive through line (Is it so hard to look?)
Closing the drive through window in such a way that people can't see it's closed. (I mean it's open 24 hours, yes?)
Reopening the window when enough people are clerking.
Failing to have the appropriate attitude when dealing with an asshole, presumably me. I have no idea what the right approach is, I'm the asshole, but that wasn't it.
Having screwed up so much and so often that an old lady thinks it's pointless to complain. Is it pointless??? read more
