At the Manor, TX location, there are condescending employees who use racially charged language in reference to customers. On the phone, the person acted like I was the one inconveniencing them for simply asking about a medication I need. No apology was received for not having the medicine I needed, they simply wanted me off the phone, and said "that's okay", as if I was the one wasting their time. I thought using a smaller pharmacy would be better than Walgreens, and I was wrong.

They answer the phone right away. YES - A real person! Remember those? 2. They deliver your prescriptions to your doorstep FOR FREE! 3. They're family owned and operated! 4. Without even asking, they go above and beyond looking for the best deal on expensive medications. An example was my son needed a pediatric eczema cream that was $700 at Walgreens. We have pretty good insurance through Aetna but they weren't covering it. Guess how much I paid for it at Texan pharmacy with their help (that I didn't even have to ask for!). $10. I started off today at their gas station which has gas for the same price as Costco but they make it so complicated to use the pump. I had to link a credit card to my Sams Club account while standing at the pump since they wouldn't let you just tap a random card after verifying my membership. That sucked...and I like to change the cards I use sometimes. So then I looked in the warehouse store and after 40 years at Costco lets just say Sam's Club is depressing. Price's were ok...but it was all old and run down and kinda trashy. One thing I did like was being able to order food from the cafe via the app and go pick it up...but the hot dog doesn't hit like Costco. You bite into it and it does not have that snap of the casing. Taste wise or was okay...and the drink is about 30oz (twice the size of Costco which will make sense as you walk around the store and see the customers that shop there). The cafe needs to add some healthier options. But I guess that's their clientele. Soooo...at $15-$25 for a year membership you get what you pay for. I did really enjoy the gas savings and will get my membership fee back 10x with that savings and maybe when I have a BBQ or go camping, i'll stock up on meat which seemed pretty well priced.

The downside of shopping at Sam's during peak hours is the store swarming with people, long lines and having to pack your purchased items in random boxes. I was searching for one item and one item only...a case of Topo Chico sparkling mineral water, which is bottled in Monterrey, Mexico. It is known for its crisp carbonation and distinctive mineral profile. Topo Chico appears unique to the South, I believe, a I have not seen it anywhere else. Topo Chico is fan favorite in Texas especially. As the story goes, the water's origin is tied to a legend involving the daughter of Emperor Moctezuma, who was said to have been totally revitalized after drinking from the spring at Cerro del Topo Chico. We coordinated outfits and paid for professional makeup in advance to be fully prepared. When we arrived, we were told the studio was over an hour behind schedule because one employee arrived late and another did not show up. Due to the delay, we were forced to cancel the appointment, as my daughter would not have been able to complete the shoot before leaving for the airport. All we received was an apology. There was no accommodation, rescheduling priority, or compensation, despite the inconvenience and financial loss. The cost of the makeup alone exceeded the price of the photo shoot, making this experience especially frustrating. Scheduling and staffing issues happen, but when clients invest time, money, and careful coordination for a meaningful moment, better accountability and customer care are expected.
