It has been weeks, WEEKS, since my drs office sent a prescription that had already been paid for to your pharmacy. I've been asked to pay again for this medication 3 TIMES and I still have no medication! I've called twice and each person I've talked to has told me it's another week bc of testing. The first person said he "saw my bin with medication in it and was putting it on the top" then the next person Intalked to said they "no longer had my medication in its correct dosage" and someone would call me back TODAY with instructions. (No call back). So someone went into a bin with my name on it and took the paid for medication to use for someone else because they had a "lot of orders"?! How is that okay? Is this place a scam? What if this was a senior or anyone urgently needing their medication and they are asked to pay again for the medication, that is already paid for, each time they call? I order a GLP-1 drug from Grand Avenue for several months after they were recommended by my nephew and the service was perfect. I would renew my prescription and would receive the invoice and when it was paid I receive the shipping information. Within two days I would receive my refill. Then the servise completely fell apart. After long waits on hold I finally got to talk to a person who assured me that they had been through some growing issues but they had been resolved. My last refill was confirmed eight days ago and I haven't even received the invoice. Obviously I am completely out and searching another compounding pharmacy. read more

Terrible experience. Vet called in prescription for my elderly 8 lb dog on 5/14. Called 5/19 for status. Was told didn't have it but should have it by 5/22. Called 5/22. Still didn't have it. As an added bonus to my previous review, I was just informed by my new pharmacy that the prescription that was transferred over to them will need to be double checked by the doctor because the way that Grand Avenue transmitted the information to them states that I was being prescribed way too strong of a medication for a woman. It was not written this way originally by the doctor, but transposed by Grand Avenue. This means that I have been taking a medication in the wrong strength for the past three months. Long wait periods on hold. Will not check (fax) for updated script; you have to call them and wait on hold for up to an hour just to ask them to check the electronic log to get the prescription. BEWARE OF THIS PHARMACY I tried so many times to give this place a chance, but today was the last straw. I had several issues with them in the past with delays in filling my script and incorrect medication information. But this week was on another level. Last week (10/13/2025), I requested a refill of medication. Nothing narcotic, just compounded Progestorone. I requested in advance as I knew they were going to need to request more refills from my physician. I gave them a full week before calling and was told that they sent a refill request back in September, which obviously made no sense to me since we are in the month of October. The girl on the phone was the rudest person and I was being so patient and nice. She told me that the doctor did not respond to the refill request sent. So I told her that I requested the refill in October and she was finally able to locate the request. When I asked her to repeat the fax number of my doctor's office, she had a number from over three years ago. He has since gone into private practice. When I told her that the information they had was incorrect and offered the current address and phone numbers, she refused to take the information and gave me some BS excuse that the pharmacy does not allow patients to provide their doctor's contact information to them. What??? Like what the hell? How are you supposed to call the correct number if you do not have it to begin with. She got very upset with me and put me on hold. When she came back she provided the correct contact information for my doctor. I assume she looked it up on the internet. She told me that she would resend the refill as a favor (as they do not send refill requests more than once???) and will let me know by text when the medication is ready to be filled. That was on 10/21. On 10/23 I had still not heard back so I called again and they told me the doctor called the script in and they would be sending me a link to pay that day and then fill the script. By this time, I literally have one day of medication left and am getting a little worried. As of today 10/24 I never received any communication. I proceeded to locate another compounding pharmacy in the next town and they have already transferred the script and it is filled and waiting for me. They advised that this other pharmacy is "no good" according to other patients who patronize them. Another thing that I want to mention is that I went to this pharmacy to pick up my medication last time as per usual it took forever to fill. I now know why they offer delivery and mail service. You do not want to see this place. IT IS SCARY. Does not look anything like a pharmacy. It looks like an underground drug house. It is filthy and disgusting. There are no less than 30-40 people working and both the front and back doors are wide open with insects flying in and out. I was disgusted. I should have stopped then. I am new to town and was desperate for a compounding pharmacy in my city. Unfortunately, I will need to go to the next town over to find a reputable place. I dread every time is time to fill my prescription. Every time I call it's always busy and end up on hold for hours. Then when I finally get a hold of someone they rush you to get off the phone. A couple of days ago I requested for prescription refill and address change, days went by and nothing. I called two days later early in the morning and no answer, called later that afternoon and had over an hour hold. Finally got a hold of someone they sent me payment link etc and it got done. But then after payment sent I still had to call 5 days later for them to ship medication. read more

They have had a refill since 2/10, still not delivered as of 3/3. - 2/27: was told it would be delivered 2/28 - 2/28: came and went without a word - 3/1: was told via voice mail that they were just calling the warehouse - 3/3: not a word - 3/4: my doctor's office was told that maybe by 3/4, but more likely 3/7 They started off fine, but this is now the second time the refill has been delayed a week or longer. Last time I gave them 14 days, I bumped it to 18 this time. Now they are not transferring the prescription that can fill it immediately. Too many people are having issues with this pharmacy and probably do not realize that a complaint can be filed with the Texas Pharmacy Board. read more

So that prescription was FREE- and was told next refill would be free again. So ordered refill - they wanted $ . I had surgery a week ago and i felt so tired i needed a pick me up. I called and made an appointment. I walked in and felt at home. They started the IV and I sat back and took in all the vitamins. I have a prescription still on hold due to the doctors not replying to a request over a week ago. This is a problem. The pharmacy did reach out to the doctors but got no reply and didn't try again. Listen, I get it. They are busy but if the doctor sends a prescription, the patient needs it. A patient can die without certain medications and to just stop trying to reach them is unacceptable. It took me calling them to find this out! I had to call both my doctor and the pharmacy and do THEIR JOBS because they won't do it. This is for their testing spots: my husband got tested on Monday at 9am and they were out of the rapid test (as their giant sign says they have).. so PCR it was. He was told 72 hours for results.. 72 hours have happened and we called right now the main pharmacy.. the pharmacist said they are on a 7 DAY turn around and this starts from the time they receive the test (as it's mailed in some where ‍‍)... this is also ONLY business days. DO NOT go to their testing places as you won't know if you had Covid until after you are done with Covid. The kiosk areas are not honest with turn around times and 7 days+ needs to be said for transparency. So please know this before going... it's first come first serve and you won't get a rapid test... if you want rapid make an appt elsewhere (good luck!!) or stay and quarantine at home. I have been contemplating this post for two months now. I have been treated by Oak Hills Med Spa, 2756 Elkton Trail, Tyler, Texas, seeking assistance with weight loss through the medication Semiglutide and counsel. Cory was very nice as far as counsel goes; BUT he has been ill-informed that the medication takes several weeks to actually affect your appetite. (I've been on it for 19 weeks now, with no results.) I have contacted the compounding pharmacy (Grand Avenue Pflugerville, Texas) twice informing them that the medication has done nothing to curb my appetite. I have also informed Oak Hills (Cory) at least three times that this compounded semiglutide is not effective. I keep getting told to be patient, it will work eventually. I have questioned many people that have used a semiglutide medication compounded from OTHER pharmacies with excellent results in regard to appetite control. I have hesitated to say I've been scammed out of $620 but that is how I feel; like I've been scammed. Maybe Oak Hills is being scammed too, since they are still using this pharmacy to fill compounded, ineffective semiglutide prescriptions. I lost a net zero pounds in four and half months. This compounded medication from this pharmacy has absolutely ZERO impact on appetite control and no one in the pharmacy or Oak Hills Med Spa is acknowledging or addressing this issue for me. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND OAK HILLS MED SPA TO ANYONE FOR ANY SERVICE AT ALL due to the fact that they are using an ineffective medication. Trust me I know waiting in a line that could be 2-3 hours long is stressful. Working 16 hours days to get people tested is not something I want to do, getting covid while testing the community is not something I wanted either. Since gatherings started on thanksgiving we have seen a huge increase of people needing to be tested. Long hold times when you call, poor communication, if they don't have your medication available to ship out on the day you originally schedule it, they just change the shipping date without notifying you. Had refrigerated medication scheduled to be delivered Tuesday because I was flying out of town Wednesday. My delivery date was changed to Wednesday unbeknownst to me so I had to call around (while boarding a flight) and find someone to bring the delivery indoors and store it in their refrigerator so it didn't sit out in the hot sun. I called the pharmacy at 6:35pm to try to intercept or reroute the delivery but got an automated message saying it was closed. I am still unclear as to what the hours of operation are as the pharmacy website, automated message prompts and & text messages they send me all have different times. I've tried contacting their on-call service multiple times but the voicemail box is always full. Another occasion my refill delivery was pushed 3 days further out because there was an "oversight with documentation". I assume this means whoever I spoke with just forgot to process my script and never actually scheduled it to ship out. I missed 3 doses that week. I am a pharmacist and I've worked extensively in home health, home infusion and specialty care. It's alarming that the this pharmacy's current workflow/process has caused me to have medication adherence issues. Promoting patient care and facilitating positive medication therapy outcomes does not seem to be a priority. This pharmacy is fine to use for medications treating non-life threatening/surface level ailments - i.e. wegovy/ozempic/ compounded GLP-1 alternatives for weight loss. I would avoid this pharmacy if you have a critical condition that requires close monitoring and access to a pharmacist for medication emergencies. I will be transferring out to H‑E‑B. read more

On Spectrum News, I saw a highlight on Grand Avenue Pharmacy. I was especially interested in their making hand sanitizer there on site. I called and placed an order. Today I went to pick it up. As I was standing there waiting to be helped I noticed Deanna assiting a very disgruntled customer. She was most patient and calmly came to a productive solution. After that customer left, it was my turn. I had a special request and need. Again, she carefully listened and quickly offered a couple of doable solutions. I was impressed and grateful! They are incredibly friendly and deliver right to your door which is amazing! The reason I am giving them two stars is because I was using People's Rx for 4 months and then I switched to Grand Ave Pharmacy because it was closer to my home. The same prescription I got at People's Rx was $45 for 100 ML. Grand Avenue was charging me $45 and sending only 30 ML at a time. I was running through my daughters medicine within 2 weeks or less depending on who filled it. The bottle from People's Rx lasts us a month so I just switched back to them. It's worth the drive to save $45 a month. When I asked why it was not filled to the 90 ML which is what the doctor prescribed I was told the compound wouldn't last that long and still be effective. However, I had never run into that issue with People's Rx. It always lasted and was just as effective until the end. People's Rx was giving me an extra 10 ML because they said you always end up losing a little when giving it to a baby so they try to be generous when they see that. read more

I wanted to give them a well earned 5 stars because they delivered his rushed medications same day after his surgery, and the pharmacist technician also called to check on him when the medications were ordered. During these times where most of us have the luxury of working safely from home, medical workers like this who continue to work (and provide delivery service) deserve our appreciation. Effort should earn stars, so I give them two and feel generous in doing so. I spent nearly two weeks trying to manage my pain from total knee replacement surgery, because this pharmacy couldn't get my prescriptions filled. The obstacles were likely beyond their control, but their customer service handling of the problem lacked by a way more than a mile. It was a gulf broadened by my past experience with Osco Drug and CVS (formerly Eckerd's) where I was managing stores. Compound that with 15 years of customer service with HEB, and you can understand the militant customer I tend to be. I try to understand 'issues' and reasons, but I've never been able to swallow excuses. From miscommunications with the physicians office, 'missing' faxes and AT&T's multi day outage with Internet connection, my patience finally ran out. I moved my prescriptions from HEB to a local Rx because it's about a mile from my house, plus they offer delivery, too! I tried to love the very local Rx. It tried to win my trust and loyalty. I was so excited to see a local pharmacy open up here in Pflugerville. I always prefer to shop local small businesses. I dropped off a new Rx to give the place a try. I didn't expect the incredible service I received while there. The rx I dropped off was a regulated substance and required a lot of paperwork and insurance hurdles. Chris worked at it until he got my co pay down to where it should have been. Yes, a pharmacist called an insurance company and argued on my behalf. We have now moved all of our prescriptions to this pharmacy and we're very happy to have a place like this to go. Oh and did I mention they deliver!? read more

I can not say enough good about this lil' pharmacy. My son is prescribed a medication that requires compounding. For 7 years it has been a struggle with insurance to allow the compounding. Not only was Grand Avenue up to the task, when insurance denied they step to the plate and made sure my son got his medication. I really wanted to like this pharmacy because my primary care physician recommended them. However, they have no structure in their order and delivery process. At least 3 times, I called in for the refill and they "missed" the phone message so I ended up running out. Once they were supposed to deliver but tried to deliver to my office after 5 pm on a Friday. I drove over Saturday for the prescription, and they couldn't find it the medication. Apparently the delivery person is supposed to put the undelivered prescriptions back in the office at the end of the day, and this didn't happen. The delivery guy didn't answer his phone when they tried to reach him. Another time, they didn't have the filler material to put into the capsules so they just didn't fill the order - and did not let me know. I had to wait several days for their order to come in and for the compounding to be done. Most recently, they missed the refill request again, though I called on Monday and was not due to run out until Friday. When I called on Friday, the person I talked with didn't have a clue about what to do and gave me incorrect information. When I talked with the pharmacy manager, she offered to create her own tickler file to make sure the refills got done on time, which was nice but not a reliable solution. What happens when she leaves or is on vacation? I could overlook one mistake, maybe even two spread out over time, but this was continual. I realize that human beings make errors. But this is a pharmacy, where they dispense medications that people depend on. I expect an operation that runs far closer to mistake-proof - and one where errors can be caught and fixed before the patient discovers them. No excuses. I have spent far too much time waiting for them and have moved my prescription elsewhere. read more

If you're wondering why the wide range of reviews, much of it has to do with a luck of the draw staff issue. This place is owned by a really great guy who knows his stuff. And when he was there, everything ran great. He has a staff who is a VERY mixed bag, hence my "luck of the draw" metaphor. My family gets a total of fifteen, yes FIFTEEN prescriptions filled a week, only half of which is covered by insurance. We happily pay out of pocket for those, and as our family's health is concerned, would do it a billion times. But this outfit seems truly unable to manage the prescription-filling process, most of the time. The most common excuse I get is "We faxed the doctor a refill request and never heard back...left them voicemail and...never heard back." I became suspicious and talked with the three doctors involved. Each of them offered to show me the relevant fax logs Half the time when a scrip was delayed, Grand Avenue DID send the fax--only half the time. And in that half, the doctor's staff could prove that they responded EVERY time with the requested approval. So in the half that were actually sent by this joke of a pharmacy, they lost or never processed those refill responses half of that time. Because this isn't just prescription-strength Ibubrofen, but things that keep my family alive and vital, I don't consider those percentages acceptable at all. I'm going to be sitting down with the owner as he is the friend of a friend. We're going to decide whether this can be salvaged or we're going to abandon this shipwreck for good. My advice? They're fine if your prescriptions are not life-saving. If you could go without meds for a week or two while they get their act together (yes, it often takes that long), and you won't suffer, they're fine. But if you're like many of us who depend on our medications, stay away from these people at all costs. I'll update this if the owner can convince me he can fix this mess. Until then, be warned. read more
