I've been coming here since the early 90s. The staff are always helpful, responsive, respectful, friendly, and professional. They are always well-stocked with the items I need and open 24 hours. This place is a gem in one of my favorite cities in the bay area, Mountain View. Surprised to read reviews in which people are complaining about wait times at the Pharmacy. It's just inconsiderate and reflects an overbearing sense of entitlement and a false sense of superiority. All of the staff here have always been hard-working, helpful, and courteous. This pandemic doesn't make it easier for anyone, including the fine people here who risk their lives to work at Walgreens interacting with hundreds of people each day, even some who are sick. They likely are doing so without being paid a premium for this hazard pay. They deserve more consideration. Waiting is increasingly a problem everywhere. Instead of complaining, be patient and considerate of others, while the pharmacist works diligently to verify the order and get it correctly filled for each patron. This pandemic creates problems for everybody. For instance, I ordered a sandwich from Ike's today through my app, and the app indicated that the sandwich would be ready at 1:15. I got there at 1:17 and it wasn't ready. 10-12 people were waiting. I finally received my order at 1:53. The workers at Ike's were frantically working too. I gave them a good tip. This Walgreens remains my favorite, from San Jose to Palo Alto in the south bay and on the peninsula. read more

The experience today , although not like the last time at this Walgreen was unacceptable. It was a visit to the pharmacy with a friend to pick up a simple prescription. First , their was no organized wait system. A line was at least seven or eight people deep , individuals cutting in and out ( not really their fault no clear system ). As friend went to get script , pharmacy made an error and another had to be called. Instructions not clear , everyone behind counter seemed confused and very little organization. After the call to fix , waited 25 minutes to the side to be helped again , with a lot of confusion. Finally done could see others facing the same , no apology for the unnecessary added wait and really just seemed like they wanted us out. I've been to this Walgreens store for many decades. It's located at the corner of busy El Camino Real and Grant Road. I believe the reason it opens 24 hours a day is because of close proximity to El Camino Hospital and many medical offices around it. Awhile back, I came here to pick up my parents' medications. It was convenient to my office down the street when I lived in Bay Area. And now, whenever I'm in town, I still come here to pick up some household items. I often called this Walgreens Store a lifesaver. Because it always has stuff I need. Few days ago, temperature suddenly dropped from 80 degrees down to 60 degrees. I didn't see it coming and I wasn't prepared. I needed something to keep my head warm. I found a cute beanie with California flag on it. And, lots of souvenirs I could take with me. Few years ago, I found a pairs of nice fashionable flip flops and tank tops for a hot summer day. For those of you think the customer service is bad, you need to go to Houston Chinatown's Walgreens. This is a pretty good pharmacy. If you go mid-morning or afternoon, there's rarely a line. Also if you go to the store at 9 pm, it's empty. The staff is really kind and caring and I know that the pharmacist cares about my well-being. Recently she went above and beyond to help me fill a complicated prescription and communicated with me every step of the way. Also, the time to fill a prescription here are some of the fastest you will see in the Bay. Outside of the pharmacy, they actually have a pretty great selection of boxed groceries and even essentials like soy milk making it easy to grab some missing groceries for the way home. A very nice place to shop for personal items and hair care as well. The only reason why it's not a 5 star is because sometimes there are solicitors outside their doors. They would benefit from hiring a security guard. read more

I had an arm infection (yes people, you can actually get one from the flu shot, so be warned)! I had a prescription for antibiotics and need a 24-hour open pharmacy. My husband finds this one on Yelp but tells me that it only has two stars. I think to myself, "who cares, I just need the medicine!" I get there while I'm in a ton of pain and the pharmacist tells me that she can't find the number she needs on the prescription that I got from the urgent care down the street. When I asked her to call the doctor, she said I will after I help the customer behind you. So I guess if I were the customer behind me, I would give this place five stars. But being that I was the one in pain and in tears from the pain, I barely think they deserve 2 stars. read more

The pharmacy is great! I went to pick up my prescription and got Covid booster. There was a line as any other location. The pharmacy tech was very friendly and out going. Explained my meds and what side effects I would have. People need to remember that they are providing a service to us the customer. If you don't like it then go else were nobody is forcing you to shop at this location. I will keep coming back to this location for all my medications. read more

My dentist gave my son a painkiller prescription due to my son's emergency visit at 10PM. The pharmacy is 24 hours operating but the lady refused to take my dentist's prescription at 12AM when I handed them the prescription. She insisted the prescription needed to be faxed to the pharmacy. I called my dentist immediately and he wanted to talk to the pharmacy lady directly but she refused to talk to him. So I couldn't get the prescription when I was in emergency situation. read more

I just visited the location at 121 E. El Camino Real in Mountain View, CA. I walked out at 0615 after 5 minutes or so. I frequent this location often, more so in the late night hours. I walked in and 2 older black gentlemen were on duty near the cash registers engulfed in a conversation unpacking boxes/packages. Their voices carried loudly and sounded like an Argument or heated discussion. Neither of them spoke or acknowledged me. I walked the entire store in search of lip balm which I did not find. I finally walked up the stationary aisle to make my exit and the employees were near the refrigerator section. As I'm walking away from them I was finally yelled at, "sir do you need help, assistance" and who knows what else repeatedly. I ignored them because wtf do I need you for now as I'm leaving. I wasn't a priority the entire time I was in the store and i don't understand why it's so important now as I'm leaving. I mean they were yelling so loud the entire time as I walked away like I was stealing I wouldn't have been surprised if they chased me outside once I got into my company car. 4 for convenience (24 hours) but just sharing my exit experience. read more

I wish Yelp allowed a zero star rating for the pharmacy. Avoid this pharmacy for Covid vaccination. Came here for a 5:15 pm appointment and stood in a line for more than 30 mins. Then I had to wait 10 mins for a form and folks behind me in the line were given forms earlier. It is now 6 pm and I am still waiting. Okay, im seeing some bad reviews and it kinda makes me upset, Today i got to walgreens @ 9:18 there was a huge line about 9-12 people. i had work at 10am in San Jose, so about 20-30 minute drive. I waited from 9:18 to 9:32 there was 3 people left in line ( other workers started helping the register to make the line die down) at 9:32 i went to the pharmacist window and explained that i needed my medication before i went to work and if she could ring me up since its already filled, she said no problem and rang me up! very good customer service, if you don't have patience or like waiting in a line, then maybe this place isn't for you, they always have my prescriptions ready and they do not give me any hassle at all. thank you walgreens! the only thing i do agree is maybe have two workers working the checkouts, other then that, its really good. and the line isnt a long wait, it can be about 15 minutes, depending how many people! thanks again guys for helping me today! read more

Inexcusably long lines to pick up prescriptions. I go in, walk way to the back of the store to the pharmacy, see the line, realize that with a bad back and side effects from chemo I cannot stand that long. Come back another time or two, same thing. Please hire more help in pharmacy. And train them better. Several times the person at the cash register could not find my Rx, could not ring up my Rx after the pharmacist found it, could not manage Express Pay, so even once I got to the front of the line I had an extraordinarily long wait when I should not have. Let me preface this by saying that I still go here because it's close to where I work and my doctor's office. Today around 5:15 pm I came in to pick up four prescriptions. The cashier, Carmen said that she saw four on the screen, but only gave me three. She obviously forgot one. I showed her my Walgreens app that said four were ready for pickup, and instead of admitting that she forgot one, she tried to argue that I picked one up last week. No. I was out of town. If I did pick it up, it wouldn't show up as "ready for pickup" in my account. I don't understand why she had to cop an attitude with me instead of just going back to where she picked up my prescriptions to make sure she didn't leave one there. After she wasted my time trying to "check the system" and chit chatting with someone in the back of the pharmacy, sure enough, it was in the box (visible to customers from the cash registers) where she found my first three prescriptions. I don't understand why she didn't just check there first before trying to argue with me. It's not that hard. Carmen clearly has issues with customer service. Edit: One more thing -- I want to scream every single time I hear a cashier yell, "CAN I GET A Y?!?!" I am fully capable of reading the directions for use on every single one of my prescriptions, each of which I have been using for at least one year. It's infuriating that the cashiers cannot just bypass whatever prompts them to ask for a consult. It wastes everyone's time. If a customer has a question, refer them to a pharmacist. Don't assume that we are all stupid and/or illiterate and need a consult every time we come in to pick up medications we use often. I don't need to wait 10 minutes so a pharmacist can give me some spiel about how to use my medications. The lines are perpetually long and slow to begin with, just let me grab my meds and go. read more

I thought I was the only one having bad experiences at the pharmacy until I got on yelp. I choose this pharmacy because it's the only one around me that's 24 hours. The staff is rude, and rarely explain what the medication side effects are, and if they do it's rushed. I always feel like an inconvenience to them, and the lines are always wrapped through the isles. I understand shortness of staff because of the pandemic but this was a problem long before as well. Don't even try to call them, they'll have you on hold for 20 minutes just to disconnect you and if you do get through they'll try to explain everything to you as if you're a pharmacist as well... unfortunately I don't know the big long names of the pills can you tell me what it is in regular person terms? This walgreens is farther from my house than others, but i can say i rarely see lines at the registers which is a plus. read more

Convenience is not overrated! So glad this location is close to home AND is open 24/7. The wait at the pharmacy can be long at times but everything else is fine. They have a good selection of cards for different occasions, loads of candy when I have a sweet tooth, and a stationery aisle that always seems to have everything I need! read more

This is a review of the pharmacy, not the whole store. At midnight, you don't have a choice for a pharmacy around here. It's either this place or wait until morning. They know they are a monopoly, so they don't care how terrible the service is. I have nothing good to say about that service. Slow, incompetent, surly, understaffed, and unfair (they don't enforce the "next in line", and the lines often reach 30 or 40 people in late evening.) I got my prescription. They got it right on only the second attempt. They forced me to consult with their pharmacist; I realized 2 minutes into the spiel that she was giving me the information about the wrong medicine. I just smiled and listened. That way I escaped sooner. I can read, so I wasn't dependent on her reading me the information, especially when it was the wrong document. Also it was hot, unventilated, and dirty. And because it was unventilated, it was smelly. Somebody spilled a milkshake on the floor in the spot where the 30-person line needed to stand. At least 6 people reported the mess, and pointed out that it was a hazard. The milkshake residue was still on the floor when I left. read more

This pharmacy is run by a bunch of thugs. They overcharged my prescription by $50 and told me I need to come back the next day to get my refund. I had to wait 1 hour for the initial visit. After a few days I came back, waited another hour, and they told me to just go home and call my insurance company. They said don't provide refunds. My go to drugstore for any last minute make up or household stuff especially late night. Staff is generally nice but very robotic, but gets the job done. The shelves seem well stocked and aisles are clutter less. Prices a wee bit high but I expect that since they are in a high visible location. Other major store in center is Smart and Final and Burger King. It's on the corner of Grant and El Camino Real. Lost a point for annoying beggers (pan handlers) near the entrance. If these people are in such bad shape and can't answer a call E V E R it's frightening to think they are handling important medications! This pharmacy is incredibly poorly run. I called multiple times only to sit on hold and be told I was the next caller in line. I get to the store and there is a short line and no one answering phones. I get to the register to check on my prescription and they haven't even realized it has been sent in. I asked to speak to a manager and I'm given a card for someone with the same phone number that I called and no one picks up. I I wait to 20 minutes the woman says and go back to the counter and they haven't even started to get it together and the pharmacist tells me she's not even sure she has it. Incompetence. read more

(+) Convenient location near an ER and Urgent Care centers. (+) Pharmacy staff double checked with my doctor when they discovered my insurance did not cover the prescriptions. CONS: ---------- (-) Always crazy packed in the pharmacy area. The waits can be pretty long with about 5-10 people in line. (-) The waiting area is neither very big nor comfortable. Clearly, I'm a sucker for Walgreens. I recently went to my opto because I had a cut in my eyeball (yes, it sucked ...) and ended up having to get a $120 tiny bottle of medication (eye drops) to ensure I don't become a monster infectious crazed zombie. Trying to fill your prescription always bewilders me because it takes like 10-15 minutes when there's NO ONE ELSE in line. What are they doing, waiting for the eye drops to brew themselves? Confused. I later found out that the pharmacist did not contact the provider to verify the prescription. Instead to telling me what the issue was, they made up reasons and lied. These losers refused to let me use their restroom tonight, even though I'd obviously just purchased an item at the pharmacy. Seriously?! Until tonight, I HAD been a loyal customer for decades. Okay, so you have a (worse) homeless problem at night. I get it. 5-0 is in the parking lot every night, including tonight, racing around with no headlights & detaining people right and left. If they hadn't been there, I'd probably have chanced public urination. WTH?! They most certainly could have opened the door and let me use it, then locked it again behind me. What'd they think I was gonna do? Bathe in the sink? Go out and tell all the homeless people living in the parking lot I got Walgreen's to let me in? Or perhaps they were trying to drum up business for their pharmacy by giving me a bladder infection? Do they not know that "when the bladder bursts, urine generally pours into the abdomen, sometimes requiring an emergency procedure"? Or is this a chance to partner with El Camino Hospital by funneling patients to the ER? Then the kid working there has the temerity to lie to my face (as no doubt coached by management) on top of that, thereby adding insult to injury? Really?!!! Sorry, honey, I've personally known merchants who play that game every time there's a festival, etc. Gosh, hadn't you best call the plumber then? Need a recommendation? I asked the kid where he goes if he needs to. "Oh, we have an employee restroom." I see, and I can't use that restroom either then. Nice. Shall I return when the other restroom magically becomes functional again in the morning - almost like the immaculate f-ing conception or something? Looks like it's time to switch my prescriptions elsewhere. I hear about incentives all the time. For example, there's that nice new Safeway. Perhaps I'll have to check out their restroom situation first... Hopefully they understand a thing or two about customer service, unlike these imbeciles. It's too bad, too; they've had some decent pharmacists & pharm techs here over the years. See ya, Walgreen's!!! Sure won't miss the usual long lines snaking behind the pharmacy counter - or the often psycho customers (of course, in hindsight, I realize they were probably just upset at being turned away from the restroom). Hate to say it, but I'm almost starting to understand the bomb threats they receive on a regular basis. (I'm joking in that I never advocate violence, but they actually do get them all the time, evacuating the store.) Honestly, the main reason anyone shops here at all is they probably live in the nearby senior housing or trailer park - or the Walgreen's parking lot - and don't have many transportation options - a captive audience, if you will.
