Have to say , I might never understand the name of this gas station / mini mart but this one is excellent. Stop by here about once a week for gas , lottery tickets and maybe a snack. Staff has always been excellent , even when I bring in bent up lottery tickets for redemption and they have to run through the machine five times. Store is very clean and well stocked. A large ICEE poster caught my attention while driving past this gas station. ICEE are my favorite and for whatever reason hard to find except for at movie theaters or carnivals. I decided to stop by and parked my car between the narrow gas pumps. I walked in and the first thing that caught my attention was how clean, organized, and well stocked the store was. They had a variety of snacks, drinks, bottles of wine, alcohol, and other items. I went to the gummy section and there was was so much variety. I found these hard to find and popular Trollie Peachie O's! I browsed the drinks and went for a peach tea. I headed to the self-serve drinks area and to my surprise the ICEE machine was running so I ran to grab a cup of the Blue Raspberry ICEE (literately jumping for joy inside and preparing for the brain freeze to hit)! Most places are serving you the drinks they offer (coffee, frozen drinks, soda, etc) and are not self-serve due to COVID-19. I filled my cup and looked for the cap which I could not find. I walked up to the register and the cashier provided me with the cap to my ICEE. The cashier was friendly and welcoming during my visit. Tip: Make sure your cap is on tight before you grab your drink. My cap blew off but my ICEE was safe! This is a legit gas station stop. A hidden gem! Rotten Robbie - ICEE, Trolli Peachie O's, and a Peach Tea! - Gas Stations Near Me - Mountain View, California

This Rotten Robbie location re-opened (following a major renovation) on November 20, 2018. Even though all the pumps have been replaced, the gas prices still remain the lowest in this area! The adjacent convenience store is also completely new--it used to be a tiny shack that looked like it was about to fall over! This new convenience store is huge, and has everything that you can find at the filthy 7-11 across the street (including MILK). But, unlike the 7-11, the cashiers here are friendly, they don't grunt and stare at you, and they talk on their phone (over a bluetooth headset) while working. I'm glad I no longer have to visit 7-11 for my last-minute (and late-night) shopping needs! read more

The redesigned and reconstructed Rotten Robbie as of 2020 is amazing. The previous one was so small that you could barely fit 2 customers at a time inside the retail portion. Now it feels even larger than the 7-11 across the street, with more modern and new decor. Rotten Robbie has a great rewards program where you save 10 cents/gallon of gasoline. You also can fill up your tires with air for free upon request. A++ for convenience and competitive pricing. (To the owners: Consider changing the name as when I first came to the area, I avoided Rotten Robbie because who wants 'rotten' gasoline that sounds like you're getting ripped off?) read more

If I could, I would give this place ZERO stars. So I come to the gas station on Thursday 6/13. I only used the air because I needed to put air in my tires. Well the machine is one that I have never used before. It looks like it's a new type of machine. So I put in my money because it says $1.50 for air but free for if you fill up gas. Anyways, I don't know how to use the damn thing so I go inside and ask for assistance. I just needed to know HOW to use it. But the lady was VERY RUDE and replied with "I'm not going out there" like seriously?? At least TELL me how to use it!! So I left. I went down the street and got air at the other gas station and the guy over there is REALLY NICE. So therefore I'm NEVER going to Rotten Robbie. And I told all my co workers NOT to go there. Be aware that this station has limited working hours. It was very convenient for me when working very close, so that was the closest and cheapest I could find. Nothing to complain about as I did not have to interface with any human (as seems that this is the usual complaint of others). It can get too crowded and there is not much space, but just be patient, fill the tank and get out of there. To buy snacks there is always better places. read more

Then when I tried to pay credit inside, she rolled her eyes at me because she had to change the total payment (void transaction) to a lower number. Super rude owner!! One of the worst station I've been to. I was super desperate this morning for quick gas to make it to work on time. The machine denied my card so I went inside to pay. Not seeing the credit card carder, I says "10$ pls" and gave him my card. He threw it back on the table without a word. I've gotta update because one of the cashiers here is guilty of one of my biggest pet peeves. I should preface - unlike many modern gas stations, Rotten Robbie does not stay open all night. Once they close down, the pumps go down too, despite them being self-serve and computer operated. From what I understand, this particular location is open until 10 most nights. So when my friend and I were preparing for a road trip, we stopped here to fill up at about 9:50 one night. The overhead lights were still on, the pumps looked to still be on, no problem right? Wrong. Here's where the peeve comes into play. I absolutely despise when places close early because they think no customers are coming in. 10 minutes would have been a $50 sale for them, and possibly more since we were stocking up for the aforementioned road trip. I have worked in food service, retail, and many more hourly blue collar jobs. You just don't close early. Certainly have most of your work done by the time closing rolls around, but what's the point of even having open hours if you're going to cheat them even by 10 minutes? So we tried fueling and the pump told us to see the cashier. When I started walking toward the cashier, she turned the sign to "Closed" and gestured at it repeatedly. Despite the fact that all the lights were still on and the hours were clearly posted. And considering we were the only customers there, she still couldn't be bothered to let us fuel up. I gestured at my watch and she simply glared at me and thumped the sign. You know, this is my neighborhood gas station and it has totally reasonable prices that I really like. But I'm definitely driving 2 miles down the street to Arco after this experience. Sucks for Rotten Robbie - I make a LOT of road trips to SoCal from Mountain View. read more

I live in the area and this Rotten Robbie is my go-to gas station. It's not fair to slam the station itself for ridiculous gas prices, but regardless they keep prices fairly lower than nearby competitors. Nothing fancy to this place, in fact its definitely older than most stations. The convenience store could use some revamping but the service is up to par. The second best gas prices in Mountain View. Cost today $2.89 per gallon of regular unleaded. I don't really care to go the Rotten Robbie's in the evenings after about 8:00 pm cuz I don't feel safe there. The station is located in a business area that generally shuts down by 8:00 pm and can be somewhat dark and secluded at night. They have a small snack shack. read more

Pretty decent place to get gas. If I need to get gas on my way to work, and can't get to my first choice (World Oil, cheapest in the area that I've found), then I'll stop here. Not the least expensive gas, but much better than anything very close to me. Next closest gas costs 20¢ more on average! Today purchased $30 worth of regular @ $3.59/gal. My neighborhood Rotten Robbie and luckily the cheapest place to get my super unleaded gas. Valero and ARCO has cheaper regular fuel so it fools people to go there but if you look close their Super Unleaded is about 5 cents more! Don't EVER pay in cash here!! I just went here, on Sat., Jan. 20, at 5:20 pm, and gave the clerk two $20 bills to get $30 worth of gas for my car. I thought it was strange that he put one bill in his cash register and left one on the side. Then he gave me no change. I asked him for my $10. He insisted I had only given him $30. I told him I had given him $40, but he said no, and he took out a $10 bill with a fold in it and the $20 from the countertop and said, "Here's your money." He had plenty of $20 bills in the cash register. Why had he not put my second one in originally? So that he could run this scam! Then he tried to insist the fold in the $10 bill proved it was mine.
