My husband and I stopped here to get some gas and use their restroom on a long drive. The gas was very reasonably priced, and the restroom was fine and I didn't have to wait for it. I bought some snacks and sodas, and we were on our way. I chose this location because it was close to the 85 and didn't add too much time to our drive. The man behind the counter was polite and friendly to me and the shop was clean and well-stocked with drinks and food. Avoid dealing with the middle-aged (bald?) Indian guy with the messed up teeth. There have been quite a few reviews of similar mannerisms about a cashier with horrible customer service. This is most likely the same guy. It was mid day earlier this week on Monday I believe and I decided to use my card. On the touchscreen it said "loyalty number" as I tried tapping my card on the screen. The guy literally SWIPED my hand off the card reader like I was some little kid trying to steal candy and yelled "NO". I told him off afterwards that I did not like him touching me, let alone swiping my hand off the card reader. I explained to him I am fully able to use a card reader and do not need his "expert advice" on how to insert a card. I would've cursed him out pretty bad if there weren't families in the store as well who witnessed this childish behavior. Rotten Robbie, you're better off implementing a self checkout machine or hiring some college dropout. This guy's customer service is complete trash. read more

With Home Depot nearby this station is heavily used by contractors and gardeners. They do drive big vehicles sometimes with limited visibility. Just recently a family member was gassing her SUV at pump 2, which sits near the front of the store. It's in line with the ice machines. Now, a truck was parked in front of the ice machines (not a designated spot). The driver came out of the store, jumped into his truck, and backed into the front of the SUV. The SUV driver (which was parked) was blowing her horn. Did it help? No, He still hit her. She yelled at him. He rolled down his window, gave a glance, and said, "It looks okay to me". He waved and drove away. The paint was scratched off the SUV's plastic bumper. In my book, this is a hit-and-run. It all happened so fast she could not get the license plate. We later went to the store to ask if they could review the security videos and give us the plate number. There has been no response from the store. A word to the wise: Be very careful if you go here to fuel your vehicle. It has heavy traffic and these guys are always in a hurry. We were unlucky to have our car damaged by a hit-and-run driver and there's nothing we can do. Except, to buy gas elsewhere. read more

Gas is cheap for the area. Beer is a decent price with a nice selection to choose from. Selection of snacks is good and they often have sales. The employees are friendly. The air machine for tires works. Nothing to really complain about. One of my go to stops being in this area. read more

I went inside to the counter and used my credit card just fine. The guy inside was unconcerned about the faulty card readers. He would not allow me to fill up. I may have been in Cupertino way too long, but this review is kind of based on a historic view of this place. Rotten Robbie about 10-15 years ago, was ugly, run down and just down right filthy. It was literally a rotten gas station. Yeah it was cheap, and it used to be cash only. Then suddenly, this place went down and under construction for a long time. When it reopened, it was gorgeous, clean, modern, well lit. Everything about this place changed. The prices remained super competitive and its usually the cheapest place around. They do accept credit cards! Just note that they are not open late night nor 24 hours. They close around 11PM. I recommend this gas station, and it's the one I go to fill up my gas every time. The gas is cheap but the gas pump that we used was faulty. While waiting for it to slowly pump gas into the car, my family member and I became victims of a hate crime. A white man with a bicycle went up to us and started yelling at us. He repeatedly called us, "g**k," which a racist slur used toward people of Asian descent. I wasn't having any of it so I told him to, "f**k off." He went away after awhile. Later, he came out of nowhere, spat on my car window, and sped away on his bike. I think that he meant to spit on me because my window was open earlier. Luckily, we had rolled up the windows just moments prior to this happening. Recently at least half of the gas pumps are not functioning. People are going round and round the pumps trying to get one that works. Is this place closing or getting ready for a remodel??? You can never go wrong with Rotten Robbie gas prices in the South Bay. I usually only pump Rotten Robbie just because of that reason. I had to swing by this one last night (since I had to get off 280 due to the typical horrendous traffic on that damn freeway after work) cuz my gas meter was definitely on E!. This location has just re-opened, with a new convenience store. It looks really nice! The store has the coolest walk-in beer cave! And while I'm not usually a fan of convenience store hot foods, I had to give the nachos a try. YUM!!! This is by far the cheapest gas in the South Bay, as far as I can tell. I just filled up 87 for $3.99 yesterday when other gas stations on the same street are advertising for $4.19 and up for 87! That was this gas station's price for 93! They have multiple pumps and their window washing squeegees are always in good shape. Plenty of paper towels and soapy water for everyone. I'm almost afraid to write this review because I don't want them to get more busy than they already are. Don't go at peak times because you might be waiting a while. But then again, maybe more business will ensure that they keep their prices low! The Rotten Robbie also has a fully stocked convenience store and air and water stations located far enough away from the pumps that they don't become a conflict in terms of space. read more

My husband gave them 40 dollars and they only put 30 into the machine. He gave them a 20 and 4 5 dollar bills. When he went in to question what happened the lady told him that she gave him 10 back which makes no sense since he could have given her thirty exactly if that was what we wanted. I tried using the microwave like any other gas station allows and he yelled "no" while waving his finger at me like I'm a toddler. Since I'm on the road a lot delivering food, I always use microwaves at gas stations or 7-11s. This was the first time I was yelled at and had a finger waved at me. Mad disrespectful. Absolute joke of a place to go to. The guy working there in the evening does not speak or understand English and is extremely rude. This gas station is a welcome relieve right down the street. They installed a small market with all the basics to the station which I swing by to pick up those necessary items at times. Each time I go in I always get a smile and great customer service. If you swing by in the evenings you will find Alan ot who will go the extra mile to help out the customers. He even remembers me and greets me by first name. My entire family is no longer going to Rotten Robbie because of this store. They have been harassing my husband telling him he can't use the restroom because he leaves it a mess. My husband is a letter carrier and has been going there since he got this route but it got worse since he contacted corporate about the situation. The guy behind the counter said he was banned from going in there and the guy at the corporate office said he could use the bathroom there. Then today they guy went and followed him out of the store and my husband started filming him. First off my husband is a bit heavy there is no way he's going to stand on the toilet, that's a lie because if he did he would fall or break it, second off he doesn't have the time to spend making a mess. When my husband filmed the bathroom after he had left the corporate guy told him there was pee on the ground which when I looked at the video was no pee. I would rather die of thirst then ever go into another Rotten Robbie if this is how they treat customers. It's not like he doesn't buy things from there but I have since told him not to bother going there as they seem to be a bit racist towards him. Yes the corporate guy called him back to say he could use the restroom there but the next day when he went into the store the guy behind the counter gave him attitude and my husband called the corporate guy back to let him know and his response was there's a little bit of pee on the ground. So no we will not be using Rotten Robbies again. I have told my husband to use another bathroom on his route to avoid people that just want to harass him for using the bathroom. The Valero on the opposite side of the street is the same price, but they are cash only, plus it's not as convenient if you're on S De Anza Blvd going to the 85 N or 85 S, therefore Rotten Robbie gets five stars for being head and shoulders above their competition! read more

I just stopped at this gas station and decided to buy a drink. There was a big sign on the cooler advertising 2 Lipton tea for 3 dollars. What a great deal! I grabbed 2 and headed to the register. The cashier rang them up for $2 each. I pointed out the sign and told her the price was wrong and she said " no, sign wrong" after a little back and forth she staidfastly refused to charge the correct advertised price. Needless to say I will not be buying anything from this location in the future. If you do, beware that they advertise one price but charge you more. read more

There is always a long line here. The prices are good. However, I've heard that the gas is diluted with water. Many friends have told me that their cars don't function as well when they fill up at Rotten Robbie. The gas tank empties out very fast too. I worry that the gasoline might damage the engine? Thus, you can save money, but in the long term, you might be paying in other ways in terms of car maintenance issues. read more

Just hear this gas station recently actually, and it gave me a nice experience few days ago. For the price, R.R probably can be the cheapest gas station in the South Bay Area. Usually, R.R's price is lower 10 to 20 cents than the average price of San Jose. Meanwhile, R.R does not like so many private gas station in this area which look old and not trusty. This R.R has nice environment and nice looking from outside just like Shell and Chevron. You know a nice and clean environment is very important for a merchant to attract customers. the cheapest gas stations always seem to be valero or rotten robbie... & since valero is cash only...i always go to rotten robbie. This one is particular is spacious and has a nice little market/store on the premises. It seems a little less janky than some of the ones I've seen. It's easy access from my place, so this is definitely my go-to gas station. 4 stars! read more

We went because Yelp advertised Rotten Robbie as the location, on De Anza near Highway 85, was number one in a search for cheapest gas. It was not the cheapest within a mile radius. In asking about their Rotten Robbie saver club card, the clerk could not speak English. So we couldn't obtain the card. We bought the lowest amount and left. The rating of it as the cheapest gas is very off and misleading. read more
