My husband went to pick up his prescription today during Memorial Day weekend. Two employees were busy chatting behind the counter. He's been suffering from allergies. The traffic in town has never been worse, just to get here. He was told they could not help him because they were both simultaneously on a lunch break. He was told he could come back in a half hour when they were finished. It's SO inconvenient. He showed up at 1:30pm, not some crazy hour. Really?! Never again will we return here. read more

PLEASE STOP going here! Why do people keep bring prescriptions here if it's so awful? I am taking my business elsewhere and you should too...maybe then they will wake up and do something about the pharmacy here. 1. There is no drop off area. I waited in line for 20 minutes just to have the rep take my piece of paper. That's it! 2. You wait in line for 20 minutes to get your prescription, and it's still not ready even though they say it is. The back-end work here is ridiculous. 3. There's always at least 5 people in line, yet only 1 person helping. Every other employee is on the computer. WHY?! 4. I requested a text message to let me know when my prescription was ready. This store, pharmacy is the worst. It's been going down hill for a number of years but it is so terrible now my husband and I have to change. I waited over 35 minutes for my name to show up on their screen, monitor to even see they were starting to process my prescription. Never showed up so after almost 40 minutes I walked out. And I was waiting for a new blood pressure med and I was fuming. The clerk said it would be 10 minutes for my prescription to be ready but my name never showed up as even being processed. After 40 minutes I walked out. When I got home there was an email within 6 minutes of me sitting and waiting for my med said my prescription was ready. Really???? I was sitting there waiting, waiting, waiting next to a woman sitting next to me on the chair who was really sick, bloodshot eyes, a real mess so God knows what I've been exposed to now especially with Leukemia and low blood counts. Another man was waiting, waiting waiting too who could not read the monitor so I had to tell him his med was showing ready. He stood in a line of 8 people deep. Totally unacceptable. He asked for help reading the monitor since he couldn't read it. Years ago if you were sitting there waiting the clerk gave the prescription to the pharmacist and said they were waiting. The prescription was handed to the clerk when ready and they called you up....ahead of a 10 person line or longer since you've been sitting there for a long time waiting for your med. This is so disgusting..... Don't ever go to this store, pharmacy....it's the worst in Los Gatos...a town of very wealthy people with the worst service ever. read more

Typical Walgreens--these stores don't change from one city to another. Great location and friendly employees. They have all the standard products you'd expect from a full-service drug store at prices that seemed a little cheaper than the CVS not far away. read more

This Walgreen's is refreshingly cleaner and much more organized that most others that you will ever be in. They have a seemingly spacious store that is well-stocked, you will probably find whatever sale item you need without it being sold out. Have only had the privilege of coming here when I happen to be in the area and want to buy something. I also remember there being a few shops just adjacent to this place that are in the same little plaza. Again, probably the first or second nicest Walgreen's I've visited. read more

My fav. Walgreens! I head in early most mornings and grab a snack before work. It's never busy and always clean. (But currently being remodeled and a bit chaotic) But the best is the checker at the front register, seriously... he is the sweetest old man. Always uber helpful and kind, and pulls coupons for me. He even gets my change out of the automatic dispenser for me! Such a doll!!! read more

ok so I am used to the walgreens by my parents house in clayton which is pretty much the easiest place to stop and get the essentials.. The one here in Los Gatos is like the super fly walgreens of walgreens. They have like a snazzy make-up counter with people to help you and everything is spic and span and clean and organized. I was so confused I was like wait this is a walgreens? Found everything we needed for our last min raging waters run excpet for a beach towel, but other than that I def am glad this is by Jake's place for when I need to grab things he doesn't already have at his place for me. clerks were kind and the hours are earlier than other places in the are and stay open fairly late as well. read more

Walgreen's - what can I say? Your pharmacy has bipolar disorder: sometimes the service is top flight and other times I want to scream! But, you are open 24 hours a day and had Peeps the night before Easter when so many other stores were out of stock or closed for the night. Check-out lines can be long and slow. Parking is usually not a problem in their lot. The store is strangely organized. Items are occasionally located in two different places and the stock is not consistent on some basic items such as the large size of non-acetone nail polish remover (hint, hint). Service quality is similarly uneven. Employees may be helpful and friendly or do not want to deal with customers! Many products are cheap Made in China garbage that are a waste of retail space. I shop there when I need to, but it is not usually a fun shopping experience. read more

This is one of the two only Walgreen in the bay area that has the beauty center and has the cosmetic consultants on board. With that being said, they have an impressive selection of make ups and nail polishes to the left of the store. I enjoy visiting this Walgreen because the employees here are helpful and for some odd reason certain items are available only at this location! Items like: proxy brushes for all sizes for your dental needs, pinkish tint Carmex moisture chapstick (cannot find the pink ones anywhere else!) With this being said, they are quite efficient and work as a team to get the line going for clients. They hire senior citizens at the front as cashier's and it really makes you feel like this is a local community drug store :) It is good to know that senior citizens also get a fair chance of employment regardless of their age. Overall, this is a very neat and newer Walgreen (remodeled), the only complaint I have is I don't see as much sales for the daily stuff and hope to see more sales items. read more

There's professional photo specialist and there's this Guy name Andrew ASM he's excellent photo editing specialist I couldn't not ask for more this guy did a miracle in my photos I have 4 people's from 4 diferente store who didn't do a good job in my photos until I walk in this wonderful store at downtown Los gatos and meet Andrew the one heck professional in photos this guy is a genius he fix my photos I was extremely happy best Christmas gift ever.Thank you Andrew but the way the store looks marvelous very clean,organized staff very helpful everyone has an smile in they faces.Love shopping here. read more

This is my favorite Walgreens, it's huge, roomy and clean. This is one of those Walgreens that you go in, and always will buy something extra as they always have a great deal on something. Staff is friendly and attentive most of the time, maybe a bit inexperienced, but at least I have the feeling they honestly try, which is good enough for me :-) read more

If I could give the pharmacy here 0 stars I would. Where to even begin with the complaints.... They have cut the budget in every aspect of management. They have fewer staff members than ever before and have cut back the hours. It used to be a 24 hour pharmacy. Now they work even fewer hours than the main WF bank branch on LG Blvd. They don't check messages from doctors and lie to you when you get to the window. My prescription was called in at 9am. At 1:45pm they tell me it needs 15 more minutes. 40 minutes later and it is still not ready. No apologies no nothing. Time to switch. The last time one of my kids needed antibiotics, they didn't have any in stock and made no attempt to contact me. I arrived to pick up prescription and told me they would have it for me in 2 days! When you have a sick kid, the option should be finding it at another Walgreens within reasonable driving distance - or at least a phone call as a courtesy to say they would be unable to fill it. They do not give a sh*t about patient health or comfort. I am disgusted by the way this place is managed. read more

Oh man. I have been a fellow Walgreens lover for many years, but after today, I'm second guessing my opinion. I went in there with a few of my friends and we were looking at the makeup trying to find a good lipstick color. And thats when it went bad. The lipsticks were testers, so my friend was swatching a few colors on her arm. All of the sudden, the worker named Blair came up and she said "those lipsticks are not for playing with" and we were legit like just wanting to see what color we wanted to get!!! So then we were like "whatever let's look somewhere else". My other friend was trying on an eyebrow pencil, and the same lady came back telling her "that's not a tester" and grabbed it out of my friends hand. So finally we just decided to just pick a lipstick we wanted to get, and leave. So a couple of my other friends were grabbing a lipstick, not even opening it, just looking at it, and of course Blair comes back and says "just so you guys know those are NOT testers". I'm very disappointed how teenagers are treated. . I'm sure if it was an adult it would have been a complete different situation. We had no intention of doing anything bad, and it's not like we were being loud or anything, we were just trying to find a freaking lipstick. read more

This is literally the most incompetent, slow and infuriating pharmaceutical department I've ever had to deal with. I don't know HOW or WHY it takes so long for them to hand out prescriptions here but I have stood in line for... no joke ... over an hour before trying to pick up my drugs. This store is the best Walgreens in the Bay Area by far. They have ALCOHOL! The only walgreens in town that I've found that sells alcohol. It's 24 hours AND so is the pharmacy! The store is huge and super clean. Very organized. This pharmacy is EXCELLENT. Aya is super nice and helpful. -Stars. Last Tuesday I was running late on errands so I thought I'd stop by and get something to snack on. This man, whom was kind but didn't really know what he was doing since he is new started to ring me up. I told him that I had my ebt card (yes I have an EBT card) but I had snapped it in half so I asked him if he can manually enter it. Seeing that he was a nervous wreck I thought I'd tell him how since I use to work for walgreens not that long ago and I still remember how. The girl next to him (Stephanie) looked at me with disgust and said NO, we can't do that, it's against store policy! My responce to her: Really? That's weird. I went to two different walgreens and they manually entered my card yesterday. How can that be? She continued to say that it was against store policy. She had this harsh tone when she said that "there's been a lot of fraud going around" and so she couldn't do it. First of all in order to use your ebt card you must enter your pin. There's no other option! Second of all I always carry my drivers liscence so she could have asked for it! So I asked her if I can see a manager.. she right away called the person in charge.. This man Able told me the same thing He also looked at me with disgust and handed my card back to me. Didn't say sorry, nothing! and walked to the next register to help another person. I asked for his name and he stuttered and mumbled his name, he didn't even want to at me anymore. My friend had to pay for my snacks. The employee who helped me was confused. As i walked away I heard laughter. It was the worst experience of my life. Yes I'm Mexican American and yes I do have an ebt card so it's pretty apparent that I'm not from Los Gatos, but to be discriminated against is something that no person should ever go through. I cried over that. I will never go back to that walgreens again. And if anyone thinks that they were just doing their job then I'm sorry to say that I contacted a store manager from another walgreens and told him about this incident and he even apologised. He gave me the phone number to call employee relations because he said that they shouldn't have done that and it should be adressed. I even know they shouldn't have done that!! If your experience at this walgreens was as painful and disrespectful as it was to me the number to call is 8473154455, 7:30AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday EST they will review your complaint and then contact you within 5 to 7 business days. I will never again visit This branch of Walgreens. Cashier #328 insulted a dear friend of mine who was purchasing cold medicine and a snack, commenting that she didn't "need" the snack because of the size of her body. Management needs to take complaints about this incident more seriously. Your cashiers are not there to critique the lives and choices of clients, they are there to assist with financial transactions. I will consider removing this review when my dear friend informs me she has been appropriately apologized to. Additionally, I will not shop at any other Walgreens. CVS and Rite Aid will be getting my drugstore money until I hear this incident has been resolved. read more

Convenient because it's close and they have a pretty sweet selection of holiday candy and knick knacks but the employees there are pretty rude and unfriendly behind the counter. There have been a few that are really nice but for the most part I experience very crunchy folks ringing up my q-tips and juju bees. read more

This pharmacy is staffed with incompetent people. I got the exact same Rx there every month and they still managed to be out of stock constantly. They are incapable of doing an auto-refill. If they need to call the doctor they wait until the last minute so they can't get him in time. One time, my wife had an Rx for 90 days of meds and the insurance would only pay for 30 at a time. So they gave us the first 30. When we went in for the next batch, they said they couldn't give us more, because she was down to 60, and the Rx was for 90, and 60 is less than 90. That doesn't even make sense. Another time, the computer said we hadn't paid on our previous pickup (we had), and they were gonna charge us again and we should bring in a receipt later to get refunded. I had to argue until they agreed not to charge for anything other than what I was actually there to pickup! read more

Very slow to fill a prescription 20 minute wait in line to give them The prescription. Told it would be 45 minutes to fill it. 90 minutes later I'm still waiting. If this had been during my work hours it would have been close to 3 hrs with travel. read more

It is midnight and my wife found out she is out of syringes for her insulin shot, so we hop in the car and head for Walgreens in Los Gatos to get a five pack until she can get her Rx refilled, when we arrive the pharmacist doesn't even come to the counter she asks what she can do for us and I explain the situation, she asks if my wife has a prescription and and my wife replies "not with me" so she says she can't do it without one so I tell her to look it up in her system as we use the Bird Ave store, she does after getting info from my wife. Then she tells us that she doesn't have enough syringes to supply the ones that have prescriptions (like there is going to be a mad rush for them at12 midnight) so the short of it my wife does without.... remember this next time you hear a Walgreens commercial telling you to transfer your prescriptions to them !!!! read more

This is the worst pharmacy ever. Doctor called in prescription at 4:00 we got here at 5:00 and it is 6:20. We were told at 5:00 that it would be 15 minutes. Still waiting. Complained to the assistant manager, still waiting. A long line of very frustrated and irritated consumers here in line. Store manager take note you have lost another customer. read more

I don't know how Walgreen continues to excuse the terrible service in the pharmacy. It is also very frustrating to stand in line and see the staff act so unhurried, and non communicative. They must get lessons in zero eye contact. This store used to have wonderful folks in the pharmacy but they have moved on en masse. Allegedly they are trying to hire more staff but this problem is at least 8 months old so I conclude corporate management has determined that the bottom line is more important and has given the finger to the customer. If you want to avoid aggravation and anger, you should find a provider that will appreciate your business. This store is not the spot. read more

The store itself is fine, but this pharmacy is the worst I've ever seen. They have made 4 HUGE mistakes with my prescriptions including never filling them and giving me the wrong prescription! Can you imagine how dangerous that would have been if I were 80 years old and couldn't see well enough to read the drug information? The pharmacy staff is not helpful, and incompetent as far as I'm concerned. They will not go out of their way to help you out either. You'd think that filling prescriptions accurately and on time wouldn't be that hard, but apparently it is. read more

the non-pharmacy staff is good, and I like their work. However, the store overall, and esp the pharmacy has been BADLY managed in the nearly THREE decades I've been going there (strictly for convenience). The pharmacy NEVER manages their inventory properly; they NEVER tell you they are OUT of a script UNTIL you get there; they almost never call ANOTHER Walgreens to find out where your script is in stock... they OFTEN have English so badly that they misunderstand what they MUST understand as pharmacy assistants. (This is actually a WIDESPREAD problem at ALL Walgreens branches.) The standard for being a pharmacist have declined badly. It appears that the PhD is NEVER required anywhere, only a watered-down BS degree in pharmacology - and believe me - it IS WATERED DOWN - they know typically almost nothing about IMMUNOLOGY, for instance. The assistants who man the counters vary enormously in the level of skill. I can't believe that they employ so many people of low intelligence in a relatively important link in the healthcare chain. The Walgreens management at all levels is just as uncaring, uneducated, uninformed, and - hard-to-reach!!! I will go to the closest decent pharmacy in future...other than Walgreens. Also, having been at Walgreens in other states, I am surprised to find the great difference in quality (care, cleanliness, inventory, price, selection) ALL BETTER IN OTHER STATES. Do they take us for idiots??? In a word, the pharmacy staff have NO REGARD for the time and expense to necessary to obtain the precise prescription or other needed healcare supplies. read more

i had a non expiring $10 off coupon. I went to the desk before I shopped. I spent over $80 I asked to look at the receipt so I could make sure the $10 was taken off. She explained that she took it off the soft drink. I got home and looked at the receipt I have been overcharged for the soft drink it shows 12.00 and it should be $10. so take it off and don't charge me. Easy? Nope I added up the receipt and it is with the $12.-- so what good are their coupons valueless. Not a $10 value at all. And who pays me for this time. read more

I go into buy 13 $100 visa gift cards. I pick them out. Wait in line. Try to buy them. The lady states $500 is the limit for visa, MasterCard, and Amex. I ask why is that she had no answer. She just said I can't buy them. I ask to speak with the manager. He comes up. I share with him that there should be a sign by the gift cards notifying the consumer that only five her dollars a day can be used to purchase American Express, Visa, MasterCard gift cards. He looks at me and says in a condescending tone that's a really good idea I think we may do that. I let him know that you should do that and I'm going to call the corporate office which I just did to let them know to quit wasting consumers time. No surprise this place is two out of five stars. After I left I went across the street to Safeway and was able to successfully purchased the rest of the gift cards. I asked them what their limit is and they said $2800. Although this Walgreens looks nice, keep in mind the customer service there is poor. I would not have left this yelp message if the lady at the front will have just apologized but she failed to do that. read more
