Man, I really want to like this place. It's such a mixed bag though. It's conveniently located. It has pretty good hours. It has a decent selection. But it's kinda kinda sketchy for some reason. The pharmacy has always been a complete fustercluck. Like other reviews have said, it's a dumpster fire. I used to fill prescriptions here about a decade ago and stopped because it was real bad. Recently I filled one here because they were the only pharmacy nearby that had a medication in stock. That one experience went okay, so I figured I'd start using them again. Well, every other experience went sideways after that. I called and got put on hold and gave up after sitting there for over 20 minutes. I called back and asked for a manager and then got hung up on. Twice. When I finally got an assistant manager the third time they told me they couldn't check the other Walgreens to see if they had a medication I needed. When I called their 800 number directly after that the person I spoke to told me that was literally their job. When I called the CVS down the street they did a check for all stores in a 20 mile radius for stock for me instantaneously. So maybe update your systems Walgreens? read more

I've stopped going and changed to a pharmacy farther from my house because of the team you've hired. If I do go, it's purely out of convenience rather than a choice. One example of the terrible customer experience is the flippant cashiering, another is the complete avoidance of eye contact for acknowledgment of my existence, another is the incorrect refill of a prescription, another is never saying we'll be right there, another is a 65 minute wait time on a phone call that had 3 people ahead of me. I have been going to this Walgreens pharmacy for quite a while now and it's not only just the point of having to wait on the lineup for sometimes WELL OVER an hour, but when you get up to the window, after standing on line for an hour they are unapologetic, uncaring, and a LOT of times they tell us they are very understaffed (which is very obvious), but then we're told to come back tomorrow or Monday for those of us who don't have Saturday or Sunday off. Look at the other reviews. This store had its entire staff quit more than a year ago and it's never recovered. The staff are kind and are trying their best but many are new with little experience and their ability to handle the stress. Consequently they've had a really high turnover rate. My personal feeling is they need to fire the management and hire in enough staff to handle the workload. On three separate visits I overheard the staff tell patients that they were working on prescriptions at least three days behind. I've tried to be patient even though most visits (I'm there twice a month) have been over 40 minutes. And often the store doesn't have the medications the online system tells me are ready. LAST WEEK I MOVED ALL MY RX's to another pharmacy. It'll be a long time before I ever give them another chance. You lost a five- year faithful customer. Today, I asked my doctor for refill of Nasonex to be sent to the Burien Walgreens. Doctor confirmed Nasonex prescription sent. Auto call received from Walgreens pharmacy stating a pharmacy item was ready to pick up. So far, so good. Husband goes to pick up item. Pharmacy keeps medicine stapled in bag behind counter until paid. Medicine ends up being the generic version which with my insurance costs 6 times as much as Nasonex. Called pharmacy within 10 minutes and there is "nothing they can do." It wouldn't matter if doctor confirmed to use brand name, Walgreens Pharmacy still wouldn't exchange/refund the item, per store policy. Policy trumps care. In contrast, when something similar happened with Fred Meyers, the pharmacy at Fred Meyers made it right. (And the Fred Meyer pharmacy let you see the medicine box before you paid for it, too!). If you want a pharmacy that cares, I recommend Fred Meyers. If you do go to Walgreens, try to get them to show you the medicine before you pay for it, in case the doctor made an error in specifics. read more

In the past I've had OK experience at this location. Getting non-prescription items is fine. The wait to check-out is sometimes long. I called to speak with the pharmacy and waited on hold for 25 minutes then the call just disconnected. Called back and waited on hold with "one caller ahead of you" message for 20 minutes. Not likely. Something is broken with their phone system or they just don't answer the phone. read more

This Burien location stopped being 24hrs since back in April 2018. The only reason for me to give them a 5 star rating would be servicing 24hrs and the convenience of course. Anyways, this store is handy to have around, its easier to get in and out of than a super market and has more products than a mini mart. Nice in-between sorta place. I have been trying to get my prescription transferred since I moved out of the area. My new pharmacy told me they haven't been able to get in touch, in order to confirm the transfer, and after AN HOUR waiting for the pharmacy phone robot to triage my call, it HUNG UP ON ME. I called again, this time for the store manager, who told me that EVERYONE in their pharmacy QUIT all at once. I am not surprised at all. Whether I liked doing business with them or not, leaving pharmacy patients in a desperate position is the WORST way to run this place, and their automated phone system is the WORST place for their pharmacy customers to end up, not knowing there would be no one on the other line to answer them. I have lost confidence in the company overall to be able to take care of their pharmacy patients, and, have no choice now but to go elsewhere. I'm from Vancouver, BC and I was looking for the Lumene BB Cream which is only found in Walgreens. They don't sell it in Vancouver, so I needed to restock. I asked the staff, and they told me that it's discontinued and they haven't had stock in a while. But there were several other Lumene products there. This particular Walgreens is just okay. Not any better or worse than any other location I have ever been to. I'm usually in and out though, and go at times when its less busy. If I had to offer advice for improvement, I would say their pharmacy workers seem depressed and apathetic, but its also not the best location and I bet they have to deal with a lot of impatient and obnoxious customers. Its hard to blame them. They are one of the most affordable pharmacies in the area, it will be interesting to see how or if they compete with the new CVS going up on 160th. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. They are chronically understaffed and there have been numerous problems with getting our prescriptions filled over the last couple of years. We finally got so fed up that we transferred our prescriptions to Bartell's down the street despite the inconvenience of no drive-through option. We've encountered the following problems with the Walgreen's Pharmacy: 1. They do not have set policies and patients are at the mercy of any given pharmacist's whim. For example, I went to get a prescription filled and the pharmacy did not have 30 pills but they would be getting more the next day. I explained that I needed the medication the next morning and the pharmacist offered to split the prescription, saying we could pick up one dosage in a couple of hours, and return for the rest of the pills the following afternoon. However, when I went to pick up my prescription, I was given 24 pills and was told they could not split the prescription. I was charged for 30 pills even though I only received 24. The earlier pharmacist had gone off duty and the replacement pharmacist said he did not believe in doing " loaner" prescriptions and that it was against the law. I told him that all of the pharmacists should abide by the same policy as it's unfair and confusing for patients to be told different information by different pharmacists. 2. This pharmacy is chronically understaffed. The wait time on the phone to speak to someone is ridiculously long. 3. If there is a question or problem with your prescription that results in it not being filled, the pharmacy won't phone you; rather, they will wait until you come in three hours later for your prescription before telling you that it could not be filled. We are much happier with the Bartell's Pharmacy where the service far surpasses Walgreen's. read more
