I'm picky about my preferred brands! Prices are always good, if you apply for their discount card you can get even further discounts. The clerks are friendly, the store is easy to shop, not crammed with stuff like the one across the street and it's right on coal creek pkwy. So easy to stop there on your way home from work.

I did a one-star review of several QFCs in my area because of my experience today with digital…read morecoupons. The QFC staff are all great, and I like QFC products including produce, meat and seafood, and deli (Boars Head). I like QFC brands including private selection. My issue is with digital coupons. Today I went shopping and I purchased 45 items. 30 items had a digital coupon meaning most items had one. Each item with a digital coupon required 7 clicks on my phone to clip the digital coupon. This means I swiped and clicked and scanned my phone 210 times to purchase my groceries. Mind you, most of the products with digital coupons were QFC brands (Kroger, Private Selection, etc.). I came prepared with a grocery list, I shopped efficiently, and it still took over an hour to do my shopping. I spent a significant amount of my time clicking and swiping digital coupons. Next, I had to checkout. My local QFC does not have checkers, so I am now required to scan every item, and bag it. I scanned most of these items once, and now I am scanning the same items a second time. I buy a good deal of produce which takes extra time because unlike a checker, I haven't memorized all the produce codes. Checking out takes about 20 minutes and I am efficient and moving as fast as I can. I've now scanned about 40 items and clicked the screen to ring up my produce another 30 times. About an hour and a half later, I'm leaving the store. I've clicked on a digital device about 250 times in total. By the time I factor in the time to drive to and from the store, a simple shopping trip took me 2 hours. I asked the QFC employee, "why would QFC corporate decision makers possibly want to create such a terrible experience for me?". It was an honest question. The QFC employee was nice, and explained the benefits of the app. Although the benefits of the app may be relevant to someone, they are not relevant to me. I spend thousands of dollars at QFC every year. I've shopped at QFC, almost exclusively, for dozens of years. It's shocking to think how much money I have spent at QFC. Why would QFC reward my patronage by making me click a device hundreds of times every time I go shopping, on top of making me ring up and bag my own groceries. I'm sure somewhere there is someone in a QFC corporate office behind this experience, claiming victory for all of this. QFC corporate person, if you are reading this review, I want you to know that you are an idiot that is out of touch with the experience your customers are having in your stores, or you are fully aware of their experience and that makes you a jerk. Someone is reading this review and saying to me, "why aren't you just shopping at Costco?" To you I say, "touché"

One of the main reasons for us coming to Whole Foods is to do Amazon returns, which continues to be…read morevery easy to do (no packaging required, very simple if prework is done to generate a QR code on your phone before you come). So no problems there. But since we were here, decided to get something I've been wanting for a while. On a visit to a Miami's Whole Foods, noticed that they sell Golden Osetra Caviar from TSAR NICOULAI ($94.99 for an ounce). Like some other sale items, there is more of a discount if Prime member, so got the item for $76.99. In the same area, there are caviar accompaniments like blinis and creme fraiche, so got some of that too. Self checkout was easy: able to use the Amazon app to generate a barcode for my account, and was able to use the Amazon credit card to pay for it. The receipt was sent directly via email, but printing is possible as well. Well...the caviar ended up being not good even though the expiration date was in May (2 months out): mushy and tasted a bit like mud. My daughter and I looked online to see if that was what it was supposed to taste like, and decided that it was not...something in the supply chain had ruined it. Returning it the same day was hassle-free, with the employee just asking the reason for the return, and returning the amount back to my credit card. Don't do food returns much, so wanted to give props to Whole Foods for making it easy for a valid reason.

My family and I had one of the most absurd and frustrating grocery store experiences I've ever seen…read moreat Blanton's Grocery Store. My aunt (44) and uncle were using the self-checkout and bought a case of beer. Instead of simply checking the ID of the person purchasing the alcohol, the employee demanded to see the ID of everyone standing anywhere nearby. My aunt, who is clearly well over 21, was forced to show ID even though she wasn't the one paying. Then my sister (24) and her boyfriend (32) were also told they had to show ID just for standing nearby. They actually had to walk all the way back outside to their vehicle just to grab their IDs to satisfy this ridiculous demand. The part that really pushed things over the edge is that my sister's boyfriend is a U.S. veteran who was injured while serving our country. It's incredibly ironic that someone can be 18 years old and old enough to enlist, risk their life, and serve the United States, but this same person gets treated like a criminal and harassed in a grocery store just to prove they're over 21 while standing next to family members buying groceries. And somehow the situation still got more ridiculous. I was standing by the doorway waiting for my family and I was also asked for ID, despite not even being part of the transaction. Every single person involved was clearly and obviously over 21. This didn't feel like someone responsibly following policy. It felt like a teller on a complete power trip who decided to make things difficult for absolutely no reason. I've worked in customer service and hospitality for over 8 years, including time in a grocery store, so I understand alcohol laws and regulations. Verifying the purchaser's age is standard practice. But demanding ID from every adult in the general vicinity, even someone standing by the door, is beyond excessive and completely unnecessary. The irony is we walked across the street to the gas station afterward and had zero issues. Blanton's managed to turn a simple grocery stop into an unnecessarily hostile experience. If this is how management chooses to treat customers, don't be surprised when people take their business elsewhere.
