Short Story: Yet another great Costco! Long Story: I've been coming here forever and it's Costco rocks! First let me say parking can be extremely difficult but that's the same with all Costco's. The selection here is quite nice given its proximity to their corporate headquarters. There's so many snacks, frozen seafood items that you won't find elsewhere (Barramundi!), and so many wines to choose from. The store is quite spacious and the employees are friendly. They have a large gas station though it's still busy at times. Their food court is located outside the store so on hot summer or cold winter days be sure to dress accordingly. We had stopped by another liquor store for comparison, and Costco's pricing was noticeably more competitive. Located at Costco World HQ in Issaquah, WA, this instance of Costco launched in-store-made sushi and sashimi in 2023, eventually rolling out to other stores. Finally pulled the trigger in spending the $40+ to get it. It was quite good, but with the store and parking lot and food court being on the smaller side, the usual hecticness really increased, trying to fit a Saturday crowd into a smaller footprint. It does have a decent size self-checkout area which we took advantage of. The sashimi (priced at $36.99 per pound) consisted of ahi tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. I thought all three were restaurant quality, restaurant prepared. Also at this Costco, we found 5 lbs blocks of Boneless A5 Ribeye Wagyu roasts for $58.99 per pound, situated with Prime US Angus Cuts for quite a bit less...with plenty of quantity. This is by far the worst Costco I've ever been to--and unfortunately, it's the closest one to where I live. Every visit is frustrating due to consistently poor customer service. Most employees seem uninterested in helping and unwilling to do their jobs properly. At the regular checkout, we're always asked if we'd like a box--we say yes, but they either refuse to pack it or do it with zero effort. It feels like they just don't care. Most frustrating of all was my experience with Rosa at the membership counter. My card was so scratched that the gas station attendant told me I couldn't use it, but Rosa refused to issue a replacement despite that. I took my car there today for a simple repair for one tire They told me it was just a nail and the tire itself was in great condition, still under warranty I dropped it off around the time they opened and tonight I tried countless times to find out the status on my car only to be put on hold for 20 mins and no answers And then finally around 7:45pm! Having recover from 3+ days without power, heat and all our food went bad, we wsent to shop costco and was very very sad to discover on return home that the wilcox eggs 24 pack price was $9.89 which reflected an increase of 16.49% , prior to the storm was selling at $8.49. I am ver appalled , disturb and very sad that a market leader like costco would take advatnage of recent storm to raise staple food like eggs on the community reeling from after effect of a major storm, instead of lending a helping hand. Shame on you Costo Leaders. I remember Wilcox eggs 24 counts used to sell at $5.99 years ago. I love Costco, but, not this location. First, one of the employees carried out furniture to my hatchback, shoved it in, and broke off the console between the front seats. It took a long time to get a very small check from Costco (under 300.00), and no one could fix it and replace it as my car is a 2009 that's been discontinued. Second, I went in today, didn't realize I was 10 minutes before 10, and they wouldn't let me in for not being a 'premium,' member. I understand those rules, but I had simply mistimed my morning errands. It was cold out. I thought it was very bad customer svc. to make me leave and come back as a long-time good standing member. Third, their food stand is outside in the cold. That's a huge dislike. I do not recommend this Costco location. read more

Not going to lie, this place is always busy, but the staff are consistently kind and helpful despite the rush. Today I went in for pizza and want to give a special shoutout to the gentleman running the food court pizza pickup. He was so sweet and friendly and chatting with people, asking about their day, making sure we knew the wait time for whole pizzas, and keeping the mood upbeat. When my order was ready, he even called out my name and looked around to hand it to me personally. I think his name started with a B (maybe Brenton or Bryan), but I didn't quite catch it. Either way, he really stood out. On top of that, another staff member was cleaning up nearby and struck up a friendly conversation after I grabbed my food. Honestly, the employees here are always so warm and welcoming, it makes the busy atmosphere feel a lot more enjoyable. Super sweet staff! read more

Usually go to South Center/ Tukwila Costco cause they tend to have more stuff but I was pleasantly surprised by this Issaquah one!! Lots of parking space, less crazy than Tukwila location. They had lots of cool stuff that I either haven't seen before at Costco or has been out of stock. The people handing out samples were kind. My daughter was crying and the sample lady sincerely tried to help soothe her. The gift card purchasing process is different than Tukwila location. Instead of buying it at the register and waiting for an employee to bring it to you, you need to go to the counter. It was also strange at checkout they told me my 3 year old had to get off the cart, which was ok cause my husband was with me; but it would of been hard having to carry her and paying since she will run away... This place is crowded but to be expected given the location. Parking was difficult to get so plan accordingly if you have an appointment. Once you check in at the counter, you fill out medical info on a tablet. There is seating but it is limited. The screening is done in the corner of the waiting room. The exam room is next door to the optical center. The price was spot on, but it is back-to-back patients. The customer service was good. They helped us pick out new glasses without issue. read more

Out of all the Costco I've been to, I hate this Costco food court the most. For one that is literally across the street from corporate, you would think they would have it together. I literally ordered a salad and they had to go through each number before it can be given. So we all have to stand there while the pizza and chicken bakes is cooked and ready before we can get the easily accessible-ready food. Some customers ordered a cup of drink and he had to wait for the workers to pack up all the other 20 orders before him before he can get his cup. Do not order from the kiosk, it did not expedite the process because the employees had a dumb way of streamlining the process. Other locations has common sense. Go there instead. If you have time to waste, come here. read more

I've heard about Costco sushi after reading about it on social media these days. Parking lot was busy but people were courteous. I was impressed how efficient member service was when I returned an item. When I walked to sushi section, I saw a line of people even though they were closing in 20 minutes. I saw staff made sushi rolls and measured each box by weight. After waited for 10 minutes, I was able to get fresh made California rolls and spicy tuna rolls. I was very excited to try at home. I really like the flavor of spicy tuna, fresh crab meat and packs of ginger but not a fan of rice because texture was too mushy with a slight hint of vinegar flavor. The price was affordable. First time going to the Issaquah Costco. I only came here to check out the sushi since there's been hype about it. This Costco is pretty calm compared to the one at Southcenter which is the one I normally go to. The parking lot wasn't even chaotic...like nobody's trying to run you over with their car trying to find a parking spot. Their food court was outside which is different from most Costco food courts I've been to. Guess they want people to eat their hotdog outside while enjoying the fresh air. The employees seem happier. Maybe it's because they're next to Headquarters. Maybe being closer to nature has something to do with it too. The employees on the floor and at checkout were having genuine conversations while laughing and smiling. That was really nice to see in someone's workplace. Sushi was pretty good and reasonably priced. I wouldn't go out of my way to drive back here just for sushi though. I'll just wait till they have one onsite at Southcenter, 4th Ave, Federal Way or Covington. read more

Got there right when the place opened, which was actually about 5-10 minutes before their scheduled opening time. You have to scan a membership card upon entry. This place had your standard Costco items inside. I didn't notice anything too unique that you couldn't find in other Costco locations. The parking lot seemed small, but at around 10am there was still ample parking left. I could see how it could easily fill up and create a headache during peak hours or on weekends. First time at this location. It was a little bit of a drive for me, but it turns out to be well worth it. Ample parking, even though they were quite busy. What really stood out was the associates who were going around the store and sweeping up constantly. The store was clean and well organized. The other thing I liked was that the food court is located outside. Even though there were some liens, it was not clogging up traffic in the store and causing mass confusion when people were trying to exit. Highly recommend this location if you are close. read more

Between the South Seattle, Shoreline, and Issaquah Costco Gas stations, the Issaquah is consistently more congested (they have no control over this - thus excluded from my rating). The locale is much better than the rail-road-yard feel of S. Seattle or the Home-Depot-Parking-Lot-Annex of Shoreline. I love the trees, and if you come on Saturdays, it's ALWAYS slammed and busy, but you can swing by the morning farmers market to make up for it. Solid 4, while S. Seattle and Shoreline are a 3-star. They all get 5-start for gas prices though. Love the ~$.50 cheaper gas. read more

American Costco sure looks fascinating to me all the time. I was here with my family back in December for my birthday trip, and we stayed in Issaquah, WA. Large selections than the ones in my city, and the food court has bigger selections it's overwhelming lol. This Costco also has self-check out like the ones in Abbotsford. Self-checkout seems very innovative and sufficient. This Costco seems to sell almost everything from piano, food, fondue, wine and even Poke. Coffee vending machine was super cool as well. We didn't buy much due to conversion rates. Grilled chicken were better pricing than Canadian Canadian Costco. They also had babyback ribs which looked yummy. I had a great time at food court as well. I can be one of indecisive people at the restaurant and got Acai swirl with Churro. Churro IS always a must buy! Pizza and burgers were the best sellers. Large pizza was big. Some condiment for hot dogs weren't available I guess people take too many of them. I found myself confusing whether to order from the back (in the building) or outside by the entrance. My shopping experience was fun. Hopefully I can revisit this Costco year after if possible. read more

This particular Costco is a special Costco because of its location by Costco's corporate headquarters. One of the special features that I've found at this Costco is that Costco people that decide on the wine selection for all Costco stores will try out new wines in this Issaquah store to get feedback and see how they sell. The other reason to shop Costco is that buying from Costco supports a competitor to Amazon. We certainly do buy plenty from Amazon due to the extreme convenience of buying many items from Costco, but I like the fact that Costco seems to treat all of its employees fairly well. Here's some some specific departments that are great at Costco: Tire Center: Costco is probably one of the highest volume sellers of Michelin, Bridgestone and BF Goodrich tires in the US. The tire crew at the Issaquah Costco in particular does a high volume of tire installs. They've always done a great job for me in doing tire installs. On top of that, Costco has rotating discounts for Michelin/BF Goodrich & Bridgestone on alternate months. Optical Center: The quality of service and prices for glasses at Costco are both great. In fact, you will pay less for glasses at Costco than if you you go through optical "insurance" that requires you to use one of the name brand optical stores such as Lenscrafters or Pearle Vision (both owned by the Italian eyewear company, Luxottica who offers optical "insurance" through EyeMed). The scam with optical "insurance" is that you get a "discount" off of inflated prices for eyewear. The regular prices are Costco are about 1/3 of the prices charged by the name brand optical stores. And it is more convenient to buy from Costco as well since there are no insurance forms to submit. read more

Normally I'm a Costco enthusiast, but the Issaquah Costco is probably the worst I've been to. Not all of my complaints are strictly Costco's fault, but but that doesn't mean I'm going there again any time soon. I was there on a Sunday afternoon in February. The first problem is before we even entered the store: the traffic flow on the roads into the parking lot was a mess. They're not really sufficient to handle the traffic of a busy Costco. Incoming and outgoing traffic get in each other's way, and gasoline and warehouse traffic get in each other's way as well. Next problem is that the flow of people within the store is messy. Usually a store has a dominant direction of flow. (For example, in Kirkland almost all traffic circles the store in a counterclockwise flow.) But this store seems to have no dominant direction, and in places the hordes cross, leading to shopping cart traffic jams. Another problem is the other customers. There seemed to be a lot more rude (or clueless) customers blocking lanes and other bothersome retail nuisance behaviors. And almost no one was wearing a mask, even most employees. Sure, it's been three years of pandemic and masks are a hassle. But it's still killing people. A point in this location's favor is that it seems to have a larger selection. For example, there seemed to be more stuff in the towering non-food section. And when I was looking for rice milk, another location said that Issaquah was the only metro Seattle location that still stocked it, though I didn't check for that on Sunday. Another good point is that it's still Costco. Employees are efficient and even long check-out lines move pretty quickly. The cashier told me that the crowds were even worse than a typical Sunday because people were freaking out about the weather and monthly coupons were about to expire. Compared to retailers in general, this store rates a three-star "A-OK". But compared to other Costco stores, it's more of a two-star "Meh, I've seen better." read more

Costco used to be my favored store for 20 years. But, I noticed both their goods quality and services go down a lot in the last a couple of years. Recently, I replaced my tires in their tire center and the tire start leaking within the same month. I asked them to do a check , the front desk guy asked me to either leave my car for two days or schedule a time . I'm not sure what is their policy but this doesn't make any sense to me. I'm not requesting a new service here but ask to fix the issue came from your service and product you sold. Should you ask me to wait for one week or two weeks for the fixing without car usage? It is hard to retain customers' honor but easy to lose. History repeat again and again. Customers can feel the change when interact with your employees. I feel it is time for me to say bye bye to this store soon. read more

I love this location!! They have so much stuff other Costco's don't have. It's quite a drive from where I live, but it's totally worth it! Very organized & spacious, so even during quarantine there's plenty of room for people to maneuver around even when it's busy! Staff is also super friendly & the lines actually move pretty fast. They also have self check out which is awesome for when you only have a few things. Walk in each aisle if you have time, I always go in for a few things and come out with more then expected... lol If you love candles you must get the 4 wick Bellevue candles!! I'm obsessed!! I would think twice before buying a Sansung appliance with Costco. I moved into a new home had ordered a Sansung Refrigerator as this home did not have one. It was delivered and when we open the box the water door had a dent, I call right away to Costco Ecommerce department about the issue I was told I could return it or they could order a new door I went for a new part being I need a refrigerator. I received a call about an hour later from Costco Concierge that they would be handing the issue, that there was a 30 Cosmetic Warranty and they would get a door order. For the last month I have been back and forth with Costco regarding this matter. I would never buy another appliance again from them nor a Sansung product.
