Short Story: One of the more high end grocery stores in Renton. Long Story: I've been coming to this QFC for more than 20 years. It has not changed too much over the years but the store is quite large. It has a nice selection of all the essentials such as: produce, meat, seafood, milk, and cereal. The employees (when you can find them) are quite knowledgeable and always take you to the item when you can't find it. The parking lot is quite large as the store in in a strip mall. Worst customers to shop with. People are rude and will run you over if you are looking in a spot. Opposition with those that like to stand at the entrance in the middle of the aisle. There is little room and disruptive high schoolers running around during their open lunch. Good staff but a little pretentious, and the self checkout rushes you by calling an attendant if you're looking for your card. read more

Unsanitary bakery. I don't recommend this location because I purchased moldy bagels not once, but twice. Gave them another chance then I saw bugs flying around inside a muffin box. Do better QFC. Here's a video. read more

I did a one-star review of several QFCs in my area because of my experience today with digital coupons. The QFC staff are all great, and I like QFC products including produce, meat and seafood, and deli (Boars Head). I like QFC brands including private selection. My issue is with digital coupons. Today I went shopping and I purchased 45 items. 30 items had a digital coupon meaning most items had one. Each item with a digital coupon required 7 clicks on my phone to clip the digital coupon. This means I swiped and clicked and scanned my phone 210 times to purchase my groceries. Mind you, most of the products with digital coupons were QFC brands (Kroger, Private Selection, etc.). I came prepared with a grocery list, I shopped efficiently, and it still took over an hour to do my shopping. I spent a significant amount of my time clicking and swiping digital coupons. Next, I had to checkout. My local QFC does not have checkers, so I am now required to scan every item, and bag it. I scanned most of these items once, and now I am scanning the same items a second time. I buy a good deal of produce which takes extra time because unlike a checker, I haven't memorized all the produce codes. Checking out takes about 20 minutes and I am efficient and moving as fast as I can. I've now scanned about 40 items and clicked the screen to ring up my produce another 30 times. About an hour and a half later, I'm leaving the store. I've clicked on a digital device about 250 times in total. By the time I factor in the time to drive to and from the store, a simple shopping trip took me 2 hours. I asked the QFC employee, "why would QFC corporate decision makers possibly want to create such a terrible experience for me?". It was an honest question. The QFC employee was nice, and explained the benefits of the app. Although the benefits of the app may be relevant to someone, they are not relevant to me. I spend thousands of dollars at QFC every year. I've shopped at QFC, almost exclusively, for dozens of years. It's shocking to think how much money I have spent at QFC. Why would QFC reward my patronage by making me click a device hundreds of times every time I go shopping, on top of making me ring up and bag my own groceries. I'm sure somewhere there is someone in a QFC corporate office behind this experience, claiming victory for all of this. QFC corporate person, if you are reading this review, I want you to know that you are an idiot that is out of touch with the experience your customers are having in your stores, or you are fully aware of their experience and that makes you a jerk. Shopped here today using an electric shopping cart (since I am disabled) like always. Was so surprised when I was ready to check out that not a single check stand was open! No checkers! they expected everyone to use Self Checkout. that is too hard to do from my motorized shopping cart. Kai (sp?) saw my dismay, came over and agreed to open a checkstand lane for me (and one other elderly lady). Bless his heart, he was so helpful! I really appreciated his help on this. But I am unhappy that QFC expects everyone shopping at 10am on a Wed. to do self checkout. Nice floral section, good produce choices available. A decent store, but QFC is over priced and has a small selection. I don't come into this place very often and drive out of my way to go to Winco or have groceries delivered from Costco and Fred Meyer. Items that are my faves aren't available here like San Pellegrino. No bulk foods section. I generally stop by here just to buy something small and even then avoid doing so because it's cheaper elsewhere. There's a Red Box out on the sidewalk to the left of the main entrance. read more

Management really shouldn't make their cashiers double as loss prevention. I was at self checkout and the female employee monitoring the area walked over to my register area, stood 2 feet away, and stayed there with her hawk eye focused on me the whole time. I never called her for assistance nor did she ask me if I needed any help. She just took it upon herself to play TSA. I get that the store must have a shoplifting problem because I saw the lot cop in the parking lot but cashiers should be more Customer Service focused. I mean, helloooo, hire security if you have to. I will say the employees at the deli immediately helped me and had great customer service and I also witnessed an employee on the floor assist another customer. I think this is an employee specific personnel issue that may need to be addressed but until then, be prepared to meet "Hawk-Eye" at self checkout. read more

QFC uses a cheap ploy to entice you to use their chain exclusively by using phony tactics. special sales are not honored by your usual QFC membership card. Now they insist you download a QFC app on your phone. Almost impossible to sign up and they want more than the usual info. Cheap shot and a Kroeger marketing scam. Never before have I worked in an environment where the cashers were rude and disrespectful. Due to me being low functioning I was denied breaks, taken advantage of for chores and tasks, told frequently how "poor of a job" I did when I did tasks correctly the first time.... As a new hire at this location I didn't top more than 10-15 hrs a week and had my union rights constantly violated to the point where I decided to transfer after my 90 day probationary period ended. Tell me? Why should some employees get away with more and not be held accountable for their actions? When others work really hard, do jobs correctly the first time and demeaned and belittled to the point of quitting or moving on? This happened in 2015. I've watched many a staff come and go here. The company poorly handled covid. Company refuses to cross train disabled's and will just shove them in the position of c.c. for ever 'n a day. For the most part working with qfc has been more of a blessing but I should not of had to transfer to 6 different locations through out my working career to find that one store that is a good fit for me. That ain't right. More than once I've had my safety as an employee questioned through out my working career. From a customer point of view: This store has long lines, company has repeatedly reduced store hours to the point of force encouraging the use of sco. This location has a high theft and staff due to company rules can't do anything about it. How this store handled covid was a total joke. read more

This is my primary store but since the remodel I noticed a reduction or elimination of products that I now have to get elsewhere. I also feel sorry for whoever has to work in the liquor area all day, that area is a sauna! Saw a lady pass out last summer because it was so hot in there. Also, you would think QFC would want the best experience for their customers, so why is it ok for an employee to always be parked in the first one or two spots rather than customers having access to those spots? Little blue Chevy Spark that seems to always be filled with garbage, you know who you are! I'm also sick of their Buy This Get That. When they first started this marketing, it was Buy 3, get the discount price. Now we're up Buy 6 to get the discount price? Ridiculous! Just give the discount price to begin with, I dont need 6, I only need one!! And the stock isnt big enough to support this marketing ploy! read more

After reading quite a few negative reviews about the staff, I wanted to share a positive experience just 2 days ago. I went in to pick up just a few items, thinking I didn't need a basket. I had a stack going, then went to get some green onions. In the produce section, a young man, Parker, was restocking the produce. He saw me carrying my stack, asked if I wanted a basket. I said I think I can manage okay. He saw I had a produce bag in my hand to put the green onions in. He opened the bag for me. Kindness like this is so rare these days. I used to love shopping at QFC. I would go there for a few items and leave having spent $400. I frequently shopped in the early morning hours and the staff was pretty much great except for John. John should not be allowed to interact with the public in any way whatsoever. He's rude and abusive both verbally and physically. I filed several formal complaints with the general manager citing John's abusive behavior they did nothing. John's a lawsuit waiting to happen big anger management issues. The only thing i like about this store is the selection and very low prices in the clearance section. Every time I come to shop here they follow me around like I'm stealing or plan on doing so. I skate often so I usually wear a backpack and I offer to leave it up front so it won't be a concern. I shop here almost everyday it should be clear that I'm not stealing! I'm very frugal with what I spend on food so sometimes I take a while to choose what I'm buying or I might not buy anything at all. For some reason I prefer shopping at any different QFCs rather than here. Didn't mean to hurt them and walk away, but in my opinion this store is sadly going downhill. 4 or 5 years ago they might be a prefect store to shop at, but the food quality and staffs professionality were no longer stays above and beyond. Now the employees at the self checkout counter are rude, ignorant ,and not being helpful at all. The boxed nuggets tasted like old wagons. Frozen meat products weren't so fresh either, threw out their slacked beef dozen times. Guys in the bakery department gossip about how they hate this job. I just got in with my baby boy (age under 2) and they asked me to leave the store because he doesn't have a mask. Rude guy, and he said he doesn't care that I'll write a review anywhere. I love this store. It is almost perfect. -Friendly Associates who greet us/ get to know us. -Open 24 hours. -Click list - enough said! -The produce is always so good. The guy who regularly stocks it is super nice! -They carry a huge selection of items that meet lots of different dietary restrictions. Puts Safeway to shame. -Peanut carob clusters in bulk (yum :P) -Next to Bartells, has a Starbucks, but also a full service SBux across the parking lot. -Meat counter always has what we need, folks back there are great ("how are you my friend?") -Parking lot can get full on event days and the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Like I said- almost perfect. If they don't have something you want you can request it. Super accommodating and just a good place to shop. read more

My wife and I tried the chicken and Joe Joes twice. We threw the food out both times after one bite. It tasted like it had been cooked in way over used oil. It had an acrid flavor. If that is the case, hopefully they address it and spend a few extra dollars and change the oil much, much, much, more often. read more

This morning, May 14, 2021, I was shopping at the Highlands QFC at around 8:30 AM. As I was standing at the only open staffed checkout, I was a little shocked to observe the checker talking with a friend who was either just standing there keeping her from her job. The female checker, whose name I did not get, is about 5'6"-5'7", mid-40s, with heavy build and shoulder length blonde hair. She and her friend talked loudly and excitedly about their theory that Covid is a "hoax", that doctors and hospitals are making lots of money treating nonexistent cases, etc. I opted for self-check since the checker was pre-occupied by her editorializing. I just returned from a week-long trip to the Midwest where I spent a week caring for my mom, whose lungs have been destroyed by Covid. It seems that the quality of the checkout staff has markedly declined in the last few months. There used to be faces that I recognized at the store from one visit to the next. Perhaps that is because Kroger decided that hazard pay would not be offered. Whatever the reason, no matter. It would seem to me that basic rules of professional behavior would be the following: 1) When a customer approaches the check stand and you have completed the previous order, you need to greet the new customer and start unloading their groceries onto the belt. You should not continue socializing with your friend whose transaction is complete. 2) Keep opinions to yourself. Full stop. We live in a fraught political age in which people can be insulted and take their business elsewhere if they feel that the store and employees are inimical to their values. By keeping your opinions to yourself, you do not risk alienating anyone. read more

Just wanted to give big KUDOS to one of the employees named Loretta. I was shopping this morning and happened to overhear a female customer complaining about her to a manager. I observed Loretta's interaction with her and she was nothing short of kind and very professional while trying to help this total JERK of a woman. If you shop here regularly like I do you would know that Loretta is about as kind as the day is long and you picked the wrong employee to target with your false accusations of racism. Loretta has worked at QFC for a very long time and has a huge fan club due to her friendliness and helpful attitude. Go play your game someplace else - you're not wanted here. Made snarky comments and rushed us through checkout even though the place was pretty much empty. If Haggen (formerly Safeway) wasn't going out of business, I'd shop there because of their customer service. As it is, we are at the mercy of QFC and their rude employees. Today (as well as other times), I got to: 1. Listen to the guy replacing chip bags complain to another employee about someone he hated. "We should put his face on a target," he said. 2. Have their arrogant meat dept employees act like they are put out just because I did not see any chicken wings on their shelf. 3. Endure the non communicative employees in their checkout lines. I love QFC. Compared to Safeway, they're a dream. I never have to wait in a line that's wrapping down an aisle, there's always stock, and there are cooked chickens!! I love those chickens. If you're there early enough they are in the front by the self-checkout, otherwise they can be found by the CHEESE (or deli), unless they have been sold out. Those chickens make the best dinner and are so fun to pick at - as long as you're a meat eater... that is.... The other thing I love about QFC is the CHEESE (think Wallace and Gromit). I can find awesome cheeses that I thought I could only find at Whole Foods, like Humbolt Fog... mmmmmmm cheeeeeese. They also have cereals you can't find in other stores (Safeway) and they have horchata Rice Milk. YUM! QFC rocks! SAY CHEESE!! read more

Stopped by to pickup some donuts (since Chuck's was closed). Main thing I noticed was how DIRTY this store was. What keeps me coming back is the fact that I don't like the new Haggan's that replaced the Safeway on NE 4th AND QFC is tied in with Fred Meyer at the gasoline station. I've never been a big QFC fan and likely never will be. In my opinion they are extremely PNW elitist and their prices irritate me. They strike me as a cross between a grocery store and a wanna be Trader Joe's thrown in with a slice of Whole Foods. My biggest grouse about QFC is in the meat department. I really disdain that their meat case is chock full of items that have already been marinated or doctored up with blue cheese and some sort of rub. To me, this really narrows down the selection of the items I'm truly after. Furthermore, the doctored up items are really not that great anyway. Until Haggan's makes its ultimate final makeovers to replace Safeway and/or my closest Safeway decides to pull its head out of its rear end and increase its size, I figure I'm stuck with QFC...for the time being. read more

This QFC is filled with some of the nicest, sweetest, jovial people! So I showed up at 5AM the day after Thanksgiving. The husband and I were on a sleep-deprived post Black Friday mission, hunting for some Top Pot donuts and for some super special Holiday Seattle Chocolate Bars. I don't know if I had stepped into a weird teleportation device or something, but everyone here was So. Nice. They were so nice, that it made me miss the Midwest. When we scuttled over to the Top Pot Donut display, the case hadn't been filled for the day, but the super sweet older woman manning the coffee area ran out quickly with a shopping cart FILLED with ~30 boxes of fresh donuts, and asked and kept on insisting if we had anything that we wanted in particular because she would put those out first. How thoughtful of her! We told her that we would come back so she shouldn't rush. We then headed out to the registers to find those specialty Seattle Chocolate Bars, a woman stocking the front end rushed over to happily greet us. She was such a happy, nice person that you could just tell that she was sincere. She quickly opened up a few displays for us to have at, and joked around with us for a little bit. The people that we interacted with while we were there were an actual bright spot on our day. They made it so that we left in a better mood than we entered with, and it was just such a positive experience that we will absolutely go out of our way to go to this QFC from now on. read more

My other go-to grocery store of choice. Red box- heck yes!!! Great beer selection (for a grocery store that is), hoorah! Their produce is always fresh, delicious and a lot of the time local. I really like that. The prices are on par with just about anywhere else, but their weekly specials/deals can save you a pretty penny, especially if you are a coupon ninja and double up on the savings! The store is always clean, i've never seen it disorganized. The staff have all been friendly and help you find items, but there store is laid out well enough that usually you don't need that kind of help. I have to say this because a cashier named Julissa. Who had blonde hair, looked like she could be in her 40s/50s, was wearing a white shirt. It looked like it was creamy white, possibly a stripe shirt (not that it matters), but she was extremely unprofessional at the checkout. When my mother tried to get her attention by waving her arm for help at her station, she completely ignored her. She didn't help or anything. Nothing at all!!! There were others who also needed some help as well and tried to get her attention but she ignored them too. She would rather chat with her friend ( Very overweight, had dark brown hair, a blue shirt, and could of possibly been an employee there as well. I did see a tag, but wasn't sure if he worked there or came from a different job and shopped there.) and other employees but NOT do her job. UNACCEPTABLE!!! I overheard her say out loud that she was covering for another coworker. Ma'am, I don't care if you're covering for your coworkers, you're there to serve customers. Quit your yapping, and DO. YOUR. JOB. Her unprofessional behind could of at least showed some common curtesy by greeting the customers by saying hi, or check on the customers and see how they're doing, but no. She would rather chat it up with her friend like it's happy hour. But as soon as a customer (who is white) finally waves her hand and speaks up to ask her for help, then all of a sudden she quickly helps her and serves her. And then still continues to chat it up with her friend and then her and STILL ignores my mother including everyone else. JUST HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I would NOT recommend anyone going to this location in the Renton Highlands at ALL, especially if you're a person of color or Black. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

A good, solid and balanced selection of natural snacks, chips and sake. The restroom subtly reminds me of the Rainier Beach Safeway, though.

Not a high turnover rate of employees at this store, which is nice. I have seen the same people working there for the past ten years! Very clean, staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I don't like that they merged the organic section with everything else since now I have to (gasp) walk all over the store to do my shopping instead of being able to swoop into my one area and get it done in a few minutes. read more

After living in the PNW for a year and a half, I don't know how it took me so long to shop at a QFC. It is miles beyond Albertson's and definitely better than Safeway, as well. The store just seems cleaner and of a higher standard than most stores in the area. The worst part about this location is the parking lot, good luck ever finding a spot. And oh yeah, they also offer Boar's Head meat at their deli department. Reminds me of Publix in Florida! read more

This is the only store at which I will purchase fish (other than Gemini Seafood, but that is a little bit too far to go on a regular basis). QFC fish department in general is hands-down the best of the chain grocery stores, and the staff at this particular location are extremely friendly and helpful. I feel like I always learn something new about fish whenever I shop here. They also have great produce and a solid natural-foods section, but since I moved to a different area of Renton, I tend to just come here for the seafood. read more

Typical QFC but there are several things I particularly love about this branch. They carry the Grand Central breads. I will drive wherever I have to go to get the sliced Como and I'm so glad I can find it here. This store is far better stocked than other QFCs in the area such as the Coal Creek QFC which I avoid like the plague. And the staff at this store is just AWESOME. I mean AWESOME . I'd like to shout out a special thank you to the cashier who was working register 5 at 11 AM on Friday 6/10. She has long dark hair, but sorry I didn't catch her name. Her phone number ends in 61. I had already checked out and put my stuff in the car, but realized my phone was missing. I checked out at a different register which was now closed. This kind woman asked me if I had called my phone and I said I couldn't because it was my phone that was missing. She literally reached into her pocket and handed me her PERSONAL cell phone. I figured I left my phone in the beverage aisle (as I had tried to call my spouse about what flavor San Pelligrino to buy) but I wasn't sure. In any case, I was able to call my phone and heard it ring - yep - in the beverage aisle. I had somehow left it amidst cases of Budweiser. Thank you kind woman at check stand five. You went way above the call of duty. I never would have expected someone to offer that kind of trust to some random customer and you made it out like it was no big deal. I can assure you, it was a big deal to me. You saved me hundreds of dollars and a whole lot of headache...by using your own personal (not employer) resources. These "small" kindnesses - even though they only take a minute or two - are so very memorable and appreciated. Your kindness was not "small" to me. Thank you so very much! read more

I love the fact that I see so many familiar employee faces when I shop at this store. Very friendly and helpful. Management is definitely doing something right. The produce is fresh and the meat of good quality. I was particularly impressed on one visit... couldn't find an item I wanted and when asked if I had found everything I told them that I couldn't. The clerk told me she believed they didn't carry it...but that she would tell someone. Whether it was because of this conversation I'll never know but they DO carry it now. This QFC has been very good to me. The store is neat, merchandise is arranged in an intuitive fashion, and crew members are helpful. The Safeway on 4th is closer and more convenient for me, but I drive the extra block to get to QFC because I don't understand Safeway and why it's impossible to find anything there on your own. There's always plenty of parking here, too. Another plus: the boba place next door is a fun post-grocery shopping stop! read more
