I was so Amazed to see how Big the Parking Lot is. Easy Parking. I didn't park too close have to get my steps in. Walking in I immediately noticed how Spacious this location really is. The aisles are so wide and roomy. The shelves were fully stocked and the Store itself was Very Clean. Great selection of Produce and Meat. The layout is the same as all the other locations but I really enjoyed being able to walk and look without being in the way. My Cashier was very Courteous and Friendly as were all the other employees I encountered. I really love this New location. Tbh I also love the Sumner and Tacoma locations as well..

Call me crazy but I do like to go to grand openings if I can. I assessed the situation and I got a "green flag" feeling so I went for it. I am so glad I did. I scored a parking lot quickly along the street that offers some shade in the afternoon. Also conveniently near a shopping cart return. Walking into the store there were no shopping carts available but only had to wait a few minutes for some to be brought in. The layout inside the store is almost identical to the Kent store. Veggies and fruits to your right as you enter. Always my favorite section of the store for great prices and quality fruit. Bulk good section big and offers many tempting treats including large gummy drops which I was able to resist. I scored two of the best grand opening specials. Black Forest Deli Ham for $2.48/lb and boneless skinless chicken breasts for $1.48/lb. I was shopping with a list to prepare for a Luau dinner party and I got everything I needed. Pineapple juice, spam, macaroni, mayonnaise, pork butt and a fresh pineapple. All checkstands were open and they were offering to help bag groceries today. Brenda my cashier was fast & efficient. I felt I got a great deal on everything I bought. I will be back.

That said, after today's visit, I stand corrected. The exterior is run down and the lighting inside is depressing, but the place is clean, the staff is nice and the pricing is competitive. If this place had a robust meat selection, I think they could give Uwajimaya a run. I didn't find everything I was looking for, but the dry spices and vegetables were exactly what I was after. I didn't see cabbage or celery, but the selection was still more diverse than any other store I've visited. My singular knock was the two guys stocking the store. Both were kind and polite, but they also had radios blasting music. I'm sensitive to sound, so it made it hard for me to focus and I'm sure a couple items I was after I missed, because I couldn't stay in the area where they were stocking merch. Bulk spices tend to last, so it may be a minute before I find my way back here. That said, this will be my go to spice store.

Worth checking out, especially if you are in need of some lesser known or harder to find ethnic items for cooking. Gigantic selection of South Asian staples, in particular. The size of the selection is honestly astounding. Also some very original, for this area, items such as Afghani bread. Very cool. On the con side, it's a bit ramshackle and untidy or run down in appearance. Very popular, tho.

Lots of dining options and affordable prices in the food court area. Deli foods are some of the best I've seen inside a gigantic Japanese grocery store with lots of space and aisles to walk around. Everything you need can be found here in one stop. Favorite section that stands out is their souvenirs & gifts aisles in back. You can find authentic Japanese gifts or shop for local Seattle souvenirs and other items. Everything was clean, new, and cute here. The Japanese folks made a very good investment here. Walkable to Chinatown restaurants and shops. Staffs are all good citizens. Cleaning lady says Hi and talk to you if you talk to her. Seattle's Chinatown district has been on a decline due to crimes/violence/vandalism since Covid til now, but Uwajimaya holds strong. They even hired own private security guards to escort criminals and troublemakers out as needed. There had been shoplifting and harassments to employees and customers from random outsiders and drug addicts or homeless folks nearby. Uwajimaya is doing everything it can to remain in business operations. Fully staffed. Good product selections. I was able to find everything I wanted throughout the shelves and bakery area is convenient. This Japanese grocery store has a lot to offer, so I hope it stays open during high inflation times. Excellent stop for tourists. If you need to use the public restrooms in dining hall food court area, you'll need to purchase something and the access code will be on your receipt. I enjoyed shopping here. Highly recommended. I'll be back for sure.

I had nearly 2-hours to shop before being bussed back to the apartment complex so I must've circled the entire store and gone up & down every isle 3-4 times when my eyes came rest on Trader Joe's Dark Roast Coffee ($6.99 for 10- oz. bag of ground coffee). Never having tasted the coffee, and knowing how much I like dark roasts, I picked up a bag. The first thing I did upon returning to my place, was brew up a fresh cup of coffee. The 100% Arabica beans lent off a heavenly aroma leading my imagination to the fertile hillsides of Columbia, the jungles of Sumatra and the plantations of Cuba. Excellent flavors! This location of Trader Joe's was relatively close to my high school classmate's home, so I stopped by quickly to take a look beforeIhad to meet up with her. I was so happy to see that the peach-colored AND turquoise-colored mini insulated coolers were available (at the entrance)! They're really handy as my niece has been using them to bring her leftover dinner to work for lunch the next day! She said that these mini coolers are a good size! I got some for her father, sister, and mother! Inside, this Trader Joe's was clean, spacious, organized, and well-lit. I got some snacks, greeting cards, and some yellow nectarines! I started looking for the store mascot and asked the cashier if these plushies were the ones. I showed her a photo on my phone, spotted the correct mascot, and took a photo when a female worker approached me and told me that "no photos were allowed in the store". I thought that she was joking until I looked at her facial expression. She was serious. Shucks. Oh, well... it's over. We got our prize (a lollipop) and took a photo outside of the store. We still went back the next day for more snacks and greeting cards because I had a bit more space in my luggage... LOL!
