Pepperoni flatbread! They have mushroom and cheese, too!

This is a quick and easy place to go to get breakfast or lunch. They're food is great for being "market food". Coffee and teas made to order with their baristas are a life saver when you want your drink, your way, and are in a hurry. Bonus: it's right next to the water. Today, I had the pepperoni flatbread. They have a pretty great selection on their menu!

It is super expensive. Unless you need something right then. Wouldn't recommend. Was clean and organized.

Great views, solid menu options, though a little on the pricey side. Staff are super friendly though!

I had the combo silog (lumpia, pork chop, longanisa, Ilocos sausage, eggs, garlic rice and kamatis (tomatoes). I also split a side of corned beef (not pictured) w/ mija and a female rellie (they shared a combo silog). The food was a definite smash!!!!! The pork chop was tender, and went well with the homemade vinegar & garlic sauce. The long lumpia shanghai was GBD, and also went well with the sauce. The longanisa had a texture that reminded me of childhood, and the Ilocos sausage (that is less fatty), was a nice contrast. Lastly, the savory corned beef was a good way to finish the big portion of garlic rice. I def needed a nap after this meal. Regarding the ambiance, its a small, casual place that holds 50. You order at the front, and your food is brought to you quickly. There were a lot of Flip clients, but there were also a fair number of non-Flip clients. Many of the clients looked like regulars. The staff is super nice, and they play Hawaiian reggae in the background. All in all, an awesome experience in DT Seattle. There's a reason Ludi's is on Yelp's Top 100 list. I have a trip booked in Oct to SEA, and I'm glad my hotel is very close to Ludi's.

I had a smashwich which is a smashed sausage patty, crispy hash brown, sunny side up fried egg, American cheese & spicy mayo on a SODO roll. Friend loved it. I did to but probably would prefer a different bread. But i'm kinda bread-fussy these days. My Americano was perfect having an additional shot added to the 16 oz. It's counter service here and everyone we interacted with was lovely. So busy and popular on a work day! Good to see.

In the back there is a huge mural of Dolly Parton, Anthony Bourdain, and a tiny Bob Ross in the style of American Gothic. The walls are covered with trinkets from the 80s and 90s like Homies and California Raisin figurines and KISS Pez dispensers. The food: Smashwich - A really good breakfast sandwich. The hash browns give it some added crunch that is surprising but welcome. Chicken in a Biscuit - The biscuit and chicken taste great. It's a bit hard to eat because of how large of a bite it is and how firm the components are. Vanilla Cream Shokupan Doughnut - The donut portion is tasty and there is a ton of whipped cream on this. The cream is quite heavy though and leaves a fatty mouthfeel. Wish this was a lighter cream that's fresh filled into the pastry, but that's another prep step before serving. Overall, really fun place in terms of the decor, music and interesting twists on food. Oodles of nostalgia is always a positive in my book. The owner, Jen, is an absolute dream, and her staff reflected that same warmth and care. Every visit felt welcoming, thoughtful, and special. This place will be greatly missed, and I'm so grateful for the many wonderful meals I had here over the years. The burrata was always outstanding, no matter the season or preparation -- somehow familiar yet always fresh and creative. From comforting pot pies and rich lasagnas to classic meat-and-potato dishes and beautifully executed cuisine, everything that came out of the kitchen was mouthwatering and made with intention. While it's hard to say goodbye, I'm thankful that Jen still has Brimmer & Heeltap in Seattle, where her talent and vision continue to shine. A truly special place, run by truly special people.

The food was great, I had a large slider and some clam chowder and my friend had a large slider with some brussel sprouts. However, the service was terrible. There were 3-4 servers behind the bar, but it took us around 15 minutes to even get one of them to acknowledge us. They did have a small crowd, but nothing outrageous. The servers were obviously busy, but they ignored our efforts to be helped and 3 other couples got served who sat down after us. When we left, there was only a few people left in the bar, and the servers had turned over. The new bartender/server also ignored us. He finally acknowledged our existence when we asked for the check. Of course the bill was incorrect and included extra items that we did not order. We left and went to the receptionist to get parking validation. Apparently the free parking is only 2 hours free, we were there for a little more than 2 hours. So, we paid the extra cost and left. That area of Renton is super cute. Unfortunately, we wont return because we can find similar offerings in the area with free parking and better service.

I even tried coming alone one time, and today my friend and I got in RIGHT away! The universe was working in sooo many ways this time around. Now... I SHOULD have looked at the menu ahead of time! Wayyyy too many options IMO. I love having options, but for a smaller spot like this, I feel like focusing on your best dishes and PERFECTING those would make more sense! Anyways, that's just my opinion! Ha! I got the carne asada omelet with tortillas, beans and potatoes. The potatoes were flavorful. Not crispy, but tasty. The beans -- BOOOMMMBBB! The tortillas -- PERFECT. The omelet was just OK. The flavor was a little lacking, but it was fine. If I had waited an hour for that omelet, though... it would NOT have been OK. Sooo maybe we can remove that one from the menu! Now the hot cocoa... DELICIOUS, different and fun! The coffee was fun too, especially with the hazelnut cream. But when I pulled up the menu, I forgot they make those fun bomb drinks, and I didn't see the drink menu at the counter -- which I wish I had! So if you come here, definitely get one of the fun coffees/drinks or the hot cocoa! I wasn't quite sure how to rate the French toast (photo) because my friend wasn't really feeling well, but I did ask him what he thought and he said they were good! Now, this man is from LA, so the standards are HIGH but he said they were better than the French toast down the street! And I have to mention -- the breakfast burrito I had last time and the mascarpone coffee were DELICIOUS... but that was over three years ago, so I'm not sure how much weight we can put on that review! Overall, I'm glad I FINALLY got back in! Sometimes you just gotta let the universe work it out.
