I like this Costco. The staff are really nice and it's always very clean and laid out well. The parking lot is also really large. I highly recommend unless you need to be close to the door just go to the further back parking lot. There's always tons of parking there. Their food court is good as well. What can I say? It's Costco... but not just any Costco. This one happens to be right across the street from their headquarters. So you'll often see things here that aren't at other Costco's. The main differences I've noticed though are more likely process improvements and changes like membership scanning at the entrances or changes to how the food court orders and delivers the food vs. product changes. They tend to pilot things here I've noticed that aren't rolled out globally yet. Good and bad. Sometimes I do notice different products on the shelves as well, but I think that may be more driven by locality vs. global product launches. Either way, love this Costco. I come during the week so I never feel overwhelmed or crowded. Like any Costco though, its gonna be packed on the weekends so plan accordingly. read more

I've been a Costco member since, I think 1989(?) so even though we've moved around and traveled a lot, we've generally found a Costco. I'm a long-time customer because what I pay in membership fees I always recoup in Membership Rewards. Every year we get a Membership Rewards check with which we pay next years membership fees plus enough left over for a big shopping trip - sort of on the house. And they have those cheap (but goood) hotdogs, and pizza and ice creams, etc in their little food court. But I think we've bought some of everything in Costco - camping equipment, furniture, tires, tools, housewares, electronics, eye glasses, wine/beer/liquor, you name it - oh yeah - groceries. And when/if you need to take a purchase back - they accept it. Costco is just a good deal and I/we'll always be members. read more

Purchased a refrigerator came it was defective so called Costco had it checked and reordered a new one all that was good... However the nightmare started after that:( So the replacement fridge was ordered and a delivery date was set to bring the new one and swap it out and take the old one... The did not show up took day off waited and waited no show called and got the apology rescheduled Happens - Ok so rescheduled they show up drop off the replacement but refuse to take the defective refrigerator REFUSED!!! I called but could not get a person in time they were gracious enough to move the defective fridge under my car port out of my way and in a covered area but like said REFUSED to take it back to were ever Costco takes the defective appliances :( I was not happy at all!!! I finally got through to a live person and they did not know why they would not & did not pick up the refrigerator that it was on the order as a replacement that it should have been picked up??? Said they would look into and get back to me... I called for weeks no reply to when they would be picking it up??? Always the same BS... I never heard of such a thing??? Weird ... Well a month or so goes by no call no emails until finally... I receive a email stating if I did not return the refrigerator I would be charged ... WHAT??? Not happy I replied and called and again they said they saw I had called and again could not believe this was occurring and said they would get back to me and would schedule a pick up ... Well they scheduled and I took off to be there for them ... NO SHOW !!! Not happy wasted a whole day waiting on them ... so called again and they did not know what happened and said they would reschedule and they did - Finally they picked up the refrigerator... I took pictures of them taking the fridge so no question it had been picked up and returned... :( Well my husband goes to Costco has a full cart business things and other items gets to the line a FLAG has been placed on the account !!! Not happy embarrassed time wasted holds up the line people behind not happy manager stated something about a something not returned & paid for etc... He calls me I told him only thing I could think of ... I bet its the refrigerator Manager checked further and of course it was. OMG I was upset... :( They refused to let him purchase the items We are long time members since opened - HE WAS LIVID - NOT HAPPY :( I called and got the same run around said would take care of... So our employees go to purchase items for ur store told cannot use member ship had to leave the items or use their personal cards so our company looses the points embarrassing beyond acceptable :( We call again said would take care of it ... So we go to Costco same thing - Manager looks into this time he sees the fridge has been returned at least tells us what to do and lets us buy our items but still long line customers waiting embarrassing we were given a $50.00 chargeback for the inconvenience which does not even begin to correct all the time wasted time lost etc... from the above BS all do to Costco and their inability to doing their JOBS & log things correctly and follow through. Well its now Christmas months of this BS and anouther employee goes in with our rewards check to buy items for the store Now we have been told all this was ok corrected. They refused to let him purchase the items on our account so he used his account but they would not let him use our rewards check which expires in a few days now... long lines embarrassed NOT AT ALL OK!!!!!!!!! Enough is Enough !!! This Costco is close to home and very convenient if I need to swing by to grab an item or two, although it always being coming out with a full cart! Items are generally stocked well. Food court has your standard Costco foods. I do like their açaí bowl though, not bad! read more

This Costco versus all the other Costcos I've gone to is easily one of my favorites. There's a slower more calm pace about this place - albeit the parking lot can be just as crazy as any other location - inside, no matter how busy it gets, it doesn't "feel hectic/crazy" which I enjoy. Their selection doesn't lack much of anything beyond the restaurant/business costcos so that's always nice to be able to grab the essentials without dealing with the craziness. However this Costco like all other Costcos, the fruits and veggies do NOT seem to last long. Not sure why but I don't bother buying fruits and veggies here as they go bad very quickly. read more

Over the years, I have bought both small and large appliances and have been very satisfied with the price, delivery and installation. A smaller but efficient Costco. Everything is laid out so much more conveniently. Parking, checking out, even the food court is so much easier to shop from. I didn't have a wait at cashing out and I didn't have a wait at the food court. The food court has an amazing self serve kiosk. So you walk in and easily walk out. Lots of families and kids, probably the most I've seen at any Costco. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Like everywhere, you can have good and bad experiences here at the Covington Costco. I hate crowds..but it's Costco, there will be crowds. Most of the fresh fruit and veg are good. I have had bad luck with bananas-they look fine on the outside but are often rotten on the inside. Look over any stone fruits carefully, an entire box of peaches was bad...but I took it back the next day and was given a full refund. The meat selection is limited to a few "popular" cuts, so if you want something special you will still have to go to a butcher, but the prices and quality on what they do sell is good. They stopped selling prime cuts (except during the holidays) which is a shame, because I was/am totally willing to pay for them. The fresh French bread is tasty....but make sure you pick one with a "use by" date that isn't today or tomorrow...that often happens on weekends. But stay away from cookies and cakes- they are basically tastelessly sweet..and nothing else...yes they are cheap...but to quote Prue Leith "not worth the calories." They change their stock, so if you really love something, don't expect it to be there next time you shop. Also different warehouses sell different items and at different prices, so it can pay to check out other warehouses. The pharmacy is also hit and miss. Most of the people who work there are nice and friendly, but one lady is quite "nosy" asking why you take this?, or how long have you been on it? When I looked her in the eye and said "that really isn't your concern, is it? I have a valid prescription, I've paid for it, and I have no questions about its use." She stopped asking, but looked like she had swallowed a lemon. Another issue I had was their computer system stopped accepting prescriptions, but rather than tell customers who were there to pick up, they just said "we haven't received anything for you." that went on for 3 days in March of 2024, when I finally talked to someone helpful, I was told about the computer issue- seriously about blew my top- I was waiting for pain meds after oral surgery- and Tylenol just wasn't helping. The surgeon's office kept telling me they had faxed it in. Come on Costco..be HONEST..I could have had it sent to a different pharmacy and not been in pain for 4 days. The state should have investigated that! The last thing to watch out for is the house brand Kirkland...just stay away from it. There are people who will say it is the exact product as the name brand right next to it, but trust me..it's not. My butt can tell the difference between Charman and Kirkland, try mopping up a spill with their paper towels and you will always buy the Bounty, the Vanilla ice cream is so bad, I just threw it away, and the egg bites that replaced Starbucks...yes they are cheaper...but they awful. Costco has become what it set out not to be...the purveyor of mediocrity on a large scale. read more

Today was my first visit to this Costco location. This is a really nice one! I like the wide partially covered sidewalk from the parking lot that even has benches along the way. They have a cool card scanner as you enter and I noticed a few other modern conveniences that some of the other ones don't have. The employees here are super friendly and helpful. I was waiting for an employee to restock chicken patties and he proactively grabbed a bag for me, gave me a smile, and readily handed it to me. As others have mentioned, this location didn't seem as chaotic as other ones - especially for a Saturday. The other customers at this location seem a bit more chill and personable, too. Although I love Costco, I dread visiting on a weekend. However, this was a pleasant surprise and a smooth, easy visit! read more

There aren't signs posted that say where to sign up so there was some confusion and we encountered some rude service. We were very unhappy with the customer service from the returns staff. We went in to ask to get a membership renewal because we lost our card and the ladies there practically yelled at us and were very rude. They told us to go through the front door "next time" and didn't even let us finish asking our questions. Very upsetting service from this woman. By the way, there wasn't even anybody waiting in the returns line and just five staff members standing there talking, you know, just shooting the crap, SUPER NOT BUSY, so you could've helped us, the customer, and led us to the signup booth which was directly next to your returns stall instead of being rude. read more

Disappointing tire center experience. Clean puncture about two inches in from the tire shoulder, they said it was on the shoulder and won't repair it. Look it up, this far in is NOT defined as the shoulder. And I have relatively low profile tires for a sports car and so they're pretty flat out to the shoulder. Brought it right over to Les Schwab (45mn before closing time) and the tech's first comment when I pointed out the puncture location - "that's totally repairable" and he happily took it right in. I Didn't even mention my poor Costco experience. Best part is when I went to pay and bring it home they said No Charge! I don't pay Les Schwab an annual membership fee to be a customer and I didn't spend $8000.00 with them last year and am not on track to spend about $15,000.00 with them this year. I probably won't spend that at Costco now either because I'll stopping where I'm at now between 8-9k. Here's My belief on the real Costco tire background... The initial tech, Dylan, I spoke with at 6:30 the evening before seemed to have a hair up his sphincter over something. When I first approached him outside the garage to ask if I could drop my wheel by the garage while I go check in, he immediately became combative about whether they would accept it, which they didn't - I had to return the next day - even though the tire center told me on the phone that walk ins are accepted and that I could just drop the wheel. Funny thing is, this guy Dylan (who seems like one of these Antifa types - you know, the whiny weasily ones who don't like to work) ran right through the shop to beat me into the desk while I walked around, which didn't take me long. When I got inside he was there whispering to his supervisor, who turned towards me and asked "him?" And then Dylan walked out. Wonder what that was about. Anyhow I asked him about it the next day when I returned and he says "oh no that wasn't about you we just had a lot going on". Yeah Ok buddy. So I'm sure he didn't like being called out and negotiated a reason why my tire "wasn't repairable". Don't know what this boy's problem was, you change tires for a living son if you don't wanna do it then change careers. Anyhow, they were also reluctant to swap out a dead battery earlier this year that was months within warranty but of course had to. Apparently my hard earned money and business is well spent elsewhere that customers are appreciated. The tech at Les Schwab was so pleasant and helpful I tipped him $20; how good customer service should be treated - but Dylan and the others at the Costco tire center will probably never know this. read more

I have shopped at Costco since they first opened. Selection is great and the online store is handy also. Besides the usually TP and paper towels, etc., I have purchased hearing aids that have changed my life. Covid protocols are followed fairly well and I appreciate the early hours shopping for folks with some age on them. read more

Haven't been inside this Costco for several years. I arrived this morning about 10-15 minutes after opening and the parking lot was FULL with many vehicles driving around looking for parking. I wanted to buy an individual membership as my previous one was part of a business through my son. The customer service woman kept trying to convince me to buy an Executive Membership, but I finally managed to convince her I wanted only a regular, personal membership. Prior to my visit, I checked the Costco website to see what type of payments they accept. It showed they take ApplePay, so I figured I was set. Apparently what they don't say is that if you have a Mastercard as your ApplePay credit card, Costco won't accept it. So, all that bother for nothing. At the front entrance the greeters claimed they were counting people, but I don't believe it. The parking lot was totally jammed and lots of people were walking in while a few walked out. The employees and all customers were wearing masks, but I don't feel there was a legitimate attempt to limit the number of people in the store. I'm kind of happy my membership payment didn't work because I have no interest in returning to this zoo. read more

First of all, what's not to love about Costco aside from a hoard of people and kinda hard to maneuver, seems it's a Costco thing, not a location thing. This Costco isn't too bad, it alleviates the traffic from the Tukwila location. Plenty of parking, friendly staff and great selection of food, goods and more. The Costco I prefer is Federal Way as it's easier for me as I live in the West Hill of Kent and can hop on I-5 and would take me not too long to get there. However, when I'm with my mom (she lives in Kent East Hill) I go with her here, and it doesn't trigger my anxiety like Tukwila. read more

and 50 million percent do I love this place! When I first heard that a Costco was opening up in our neck of the woods, I was too ecstatic! Costco is my jam!! My place for EVERYTHING! I actually probably shop here too much. Where else can you get a set of tires, shelves, smoking pellets, prepped foods, clothing, entertainment, jewelry, AND get your vision checked? Great prices in gas? Nowhere... that's where! This place has it all! The staff has always been cordial and has given service with a smile. They have even sparked great menu ideas with their sample stations, let alone, having great deals on food prices. Their meats are pricy, but where isn't it? They have a great wine selection, as well as, a bakery, deli, pharmacy, and appliances. I've purchased a gun safe from them and had it delivered without a hitch. This place is awesome! If you're lucky, you've had Nathan V, Homer, Lee, Bryan, Krista, or Natalie give you assistance at some point. Everyone there is great, but these people have made my experiences so much better over the years with their hospitality, friendly smile, and general knowledge of their products and service. BEWARE when receiving a load or flooring from Costco!! I bought $3000 dollar load of flooring, which is an entire pallet. It was shrink wrapped and appeared contained, when they loaded it in my truck. I left and didn't make past their building, when load broke through the wrap and broke my trucks back window and spilled onto the street, blocking two lanes of traffic. Upon inspection it was only shrink wrapped one time and each box is 40-50 lbs., so it was a completely unsecured load. Like a time bomb waiting to happen. It could have killed me or people in any car next to me. Costco now says I signed a release, and it's my problem. $1,200 for new window. read more

This is my favorite Costco in the area. There's ample parking. It's easy to get in and out of. The staff here have always been helpful and friendly. The lines at the register move quickly unless you plan to show up the day before a holiday then good luck to you. I enjoy perusing each aisle to see what new products they're now selling. The only drawback is I always end up spending several hundred dollars. That's no fault of Costco. If you need items in bulk, this is your place! read more

I've been shopping at Costco Covington WA for 24 months. I've bought cucumbers and strawberries and grapes which turned out to be rotten when I opened them at home. Frequently. As a medical professional I don't have time to return 5-10$ items so I've just 'let it slide'. Today I went through the self checkout. The Costco guy helping there offered to scan my two storage bins and the large boxes under the cart. I told him "no thanks" but he went ahead anyways so I didn't even check his work. I assumed he knew what he was doing. At the door the receipt checker found that only one bin had been scanned. His attitude was suspicious and I felt very embarrassed as many people and families passed me by while he kept me there like a criminal after I told him his buddy had made the mistake. It took 10 minutes to sort out. The entire time the staff made me feel like I had been trying to steal the I scanned bin. I am mortified. I will not be returning to this store. The Costco staff had NO business making me feel like a criminal. As much stuff that I've had to throw out from their nasty produce section they owe me 50 bins at least. This was scandalous. My heart is still pounding. They basically accused me of trying to steal a stinking storage bin! I told several of them "check the camera feed". It was their own employee who made the mistake. I don't make those kind of mistakes. Shame on you Costco! 20 years ago you were a good company. Today you've turned into the same crappy profit driven schlup of a joke as every other giant mega store around. Is our once great country ever going to recover or are we heading towards what the Bible calls a "time of trouble as never before seen on this earth!"??? I'm done with Costco.
