Katsu Curry (Chicken) (RIGHT) and Chicken and Prawn (Shrimp) Pad Thai (LEFT).
    Isabel D.

This was my first dining experience at Wagama, and it was delicious. If you're used to going up to the register and placing your order, this will be a whole new experience for you. The waiter gives you your own paper menu with all their options, when you make you selection, the waiter circles the meal numbers and they will come out as their ready. When you're done, there is a website you go to, plug in your table number, and pay for your order over the website. If you're looking for recommendations, I recommend their Katsu Curry (Chicken), Spicy Vegan 'Short Rib' Ramen, Chicken and Prawn (Shrimp) Pad Thai, and Korean Barbecue Beef and Red Onion Hirata Steamed Buns. (Yes, I wanted to try a bit of everything.) They're also very sensitive to dietary restrictions and allergies so they can give you a specialized menu or point out what dishes to not get.

I'm surprised we don't have this in LA. The apps were delicious (mixed green stir fry and firecracker cauliflower). Our cocktails were refreshing and expertly crafted. The curry was not Japanese style but had a wonderful character of its own. The kids meals were good portions and tasty. We would definitely come again.

    Teppanyaki with sirloin

Average place. Don't know what the hype is about. My Teppanyaki was served with sirloin and tasted pretty good, the problem was that the meat was very tough and hard to chew. It was cooked on the rare side, and again, no one asked me how I liked it cooked, which would have been medium rare, but since it was sliced thin, I though it would at least be easy to eat. Well, my jaw is still sore. The grill duck donburi was more disappointing. There was sand in the veggies (rinse better please), and the duck sucked. From the small portion of duck that was there, it was of dubious quality and poor taste. The tap water was good.

Teriyaki soba with a mix of veggies and tofu

If you don't already know from my Yelp reviews at Wagamama locations, I'm kind of obsessed. Why? Because Wagamama is amazing. They have amazing food. The food is so good. It's delicious. I love it. There are lots of amazing options but since I've had the teriyaki soba I can't stop, won't stop, get it get it. It's soooooo good those noooooodles. And they have extra spicy sauces and soy sauce which is nice. Anyway, at normal restaurants (not the airport) you can change it up a bit. Meaning you can sub fish or meat with vegetables. This time I got tofu and vegetables and it was mighty fiiiiine. Oh Wagamama, I love you so much.

Beef teppanyaki; no onions, no curry sauce

First off the place was very busy and very friendly. The waitstaff was great. It was also the only restaurant in London that when I slid my card it asked if I wanted to add gratuity. I thought that was an American thing but I clicked too quickly and didn't tip (might have if I saw it in time). Food: I ordered the beef teppanyaki, and really enjoyed my meal. The beef was tender! It was also medium/medium rare, perfect for me, but they didn't ask. We just walked across the millennium bridge (watch out for death eaters), and this place was right there! Originally we were going to walk to a Korean place with a lunch special but this place was packed so we tried it despite the higher price. My partner got the yaki soba which was yummy as well. The meats and sauces were light and tasty. I didn't feel heavy like I ate Chinese food or something after lunch! Server/environment: Prompt and great service. We were in and out quickly but were not rushed. There is a coat rack but we didn't use it because it was full. It started pouring rain when we were inside. Bathrooms were clean. I also brought in an outside drink, I was carrying it while walking, and they didn't mind. Recommendation: I was craving the soup noodles because it was cold out but didn't feel like ramen (I know, I'm a diva), so I settled on the beef. I'd recommend going here if you're in the area. If I'm ever in New York, I'll try the one out there also. It wasn't perfect, price was a little more than 10 £ per plate but I recommend stopping here if you're in London. Also check google reviews, not many people use yelp in London.

Hmm how can I put this.. Was invited to attend a soft launch of this new branch just behind the Tate Modern.. Which as a location is a tad inconvenient to get to.. It was around a 15 minutes walk from the nearest station. We booked as a party if eight however they couldn't sit as all together?? Really? The offer on offer today was a main, side or dessert and two drinks. Our first server was lovely and very friendly, however she failed to mention to us that we must order all our food and drinks before 5pm..and she knew we wanted desserts as only one of is ordered a starters. I ordered a duck ramen, which was very disappointing as there was no flavour at all in the stock.. I had to add lots of soya sauce to get any flavour into the soup.. The ramen was as a tad cold for my liking.. Apparently ramen aren't a good choice for wagamama... Well now i know. We had to kinda argue with the server as to why we should get our desserts which was the white chocolate and ginger cheesecake.. Gosh.. There's no cooking involved.. Just slice and serve.. I must say.. Again.. It's no better than a supermarket cheesecake so I wasn't impressed with that... As we didn't manage to order before the 5pm deadline I never got my second drink.. Which by that time.. I wasn't kern on staying until when they came to collect the sauces the server actually spilt soya sauce down my back ... She wasn't apologetic at all and actually said that cause she can't see it it was OK?? Erm hello I didn't come here for soya sauce to be spilt down my back.. I can't say that my experience would encourage me to return to wagamama.. I would give this place half a start.. However I can't and one star is being generous..

So I was lucky enough to come down for the soft launch and oh the food... Wow so yummy! Starter wise.. I tried the chilli squid, which spicy and so delicious!! The portion is big, so ideal for sharing. I tried out the prawn lollipops and it's basically 3 giant prawns, which when you squeeze the lime on them, are soooo succulent! Totally yum! Main course wise, I tried out the prawn firecracker, which was hot, hot, hot!!! So tasty and spicy... For me it's the stand out main course. I also tried the grilled tuna, which came medium rare and coupled with the quinoa and kale, was sooooo healthy and not dry in the slightest. I was a fan of cucumber salad part, but the rest of the dish was on point! Dessert wise I tried the banana Katsu, which is sooooooo yummy! The banana was fried to perfection and served with the most delicious salted caramel ice cream! It's a dessert you simply can't miss! The service was spot on for my group, served fast and the menu was explained, along with recommendations! For my first try of wagas, I'll definitely be back!

Also they seem pretty Covid conscious with the screens dividing between the tables. I ordered the Menya Ramen which is essentially the regular Tonkatsu Ramen. I really appreciate the fact that this one already had a soft-boiled egg in it which I always think is the best part about ramen, and this one is no different. Wasn't the biggest fan of the chasu pork, but I did appreciate the seaweed as well as the rich broth. I thought the amount the gave was also quite a bit for the price, especially with the amount of noodles they had. Overall, pretty great experience at Menya. Will definitely come back for more!

I had the miso, very flavorful, chasu pork was perfect, just enough fat to be flavorful, very tender. Gyoza we're solid and the kimchee was very good. My son and I traded for a taste and next time I am going for the Menya Ramen, no spice. It was so savory, subtle, I wanted the bowl to be bottomless. Service was as prompt as possible for a Sunday afternoon after the museum. Line went fast. Thank you for the amazing meal.

Upon entry, the staff greeted you warmly and were on point to execute a perfectly designed bowl of ramen for your eating pleasure. I honestly felt guilty from the way I enjoyed my ramen given how much my oldest daughter loves the food. I appreciated how open the staff was to making my bowl "extra" spicy and adding yet another egg even though it wasn't specifically on the menu but satisfied my particular desire. What added to the "realness" of the resturant was the steady flow of what seemed to be true ramen experts coming in and navigating the scene, menu, and food at lightning speed with even better eating results.
