    Original Ramen

Easily some of the best and flavorful ramen I've ever had (and I've been to Japan). I got the original tonkatsu and I wish I upgraded to the larger bowl. The perfectly firm noodles, the silky marinated egg, and the broth was the most satisfying and comforting thing that has ever graced my throat. I wanted to kiss the chef

I had the cha mori ramen and matcha fondant. Both were amazing!! - cha mori ramen: I loved the thin noodles. They were nice and springy. The broth was flavorful and not too salty or oily. The minced pork was okay so next time I'll prob just get the tonkatsu. - molten matcha: the bite melts in your mouth, was pure heaven

We needed a casual place to have our final dinner that did not require a reservation. We arrived around 7:00 pm on a Sunday night and only had to wait about 5 minutes. The place is pretty small with only a few tables and booth areas. It fills up quick and you eat next to strangers. The ramen and broth were really good. The gyoza not so much. I had my ramen which was a collaboration with a brewery and served with a specific beer. Unfortunately, this was not my first choice as they weee out of specific ramen or paste but it was quite good. They had us pay on our phone which was nice. A quick bite to eat but I highly recommend.

We were just looking for a good ramen place and found this place. It's a very cute restaurant, small but decorated well. It reminds me of a small ramen place in Japan. The service was great, staff were very friendly. I loved it because you get to custom make your ramen from the type of cook of the noodle to everything in it. Our ramen was absolutely delicious and worth it. I'd come back if we ever go back to London.

I visited this ramen place after seeing a high reviews but left disappointed. The place is very small, cafeteria seating , and you get on the waitlist when you arrive. It turns around fast so not much a wait. I had the tonkotsu x, they use the thin noodle which is ok but the broth is very blend. There's not much topping just couple very thin sliced pork belly not the Japanese style Chashu, and some black fungus and scallion, you can pick one of the three toppings ( sesame seeds, pickles or seaweed) for free. But overall the flavor was lacking and little topping really not worth the money. After having visited Japan this is such a let down.

got the truffle ramen it was super boring and no meat which was disappointing i thought it had pork in it. maybe their other stuff is good. i liked the egg

Popped in for a quick bite. Had a to wait maybe 15 minutes to get a seat, they don't do tables, only bench tables so when a seat opens you take it. Reviews were very promising but I didn't find the food really good. It was just "meh" ramen. Servers were very pleasant and were quick to clear spaces, so for someone with a tight schedule this place can work well for them. But for any ramen heads out there, you may leave disappointed.

Service is fast. Food is really good. Great option for a cold day. I ordered the hot paste for the side, but I dont think it was worth it. Yet, the Ramen was delicious.

The ramen was awesome with plenty of pork shashu. The egg was very good too. But the waiters were too few. Gyoza was amazing. I loved it.

This is the best ramen I've found in London! I've been here a few times now: the line can get quite long, but during weekdays and off-peak hours, I've never had to wait for more than ~20 minutes. The interior of the restaurant is small, so don't be surprised if you end up sharing a table with other diners. The service is fast enough that you can be in and out of there in thirty minutes or less, depending on how quickly you eat. As for the food: I'd recommend the Tonkotsu X if it's your first time, just because it's a classic, but you can't go wrong! I've been ordering the truffle the last few times I've been just because (1) I'm a sucker for anything with truffle and (2) they do it very well -- fragrant and decisively truffle-y without being overpowering. The broth is delicious too.

Ramen was okay. Friendly staff and fast service. Expect tight space with small tables. After all it's in London.

Took a last minute solo trip to London (summer 2019) and did no planning! Did a quick search on Yelp and came across Kannada-Ya; the reviews seemed promising so I decided to pay them a visit. This establishment is relatively small but service was really efficient - wait time wasn't bad at all when I arrived. The perfect atmosphere for solo guests. I'm always nervous eating alone but trust me this place was built to accommodate it. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE SERVICE. Normally, average service is all I'd ever expect. However, the staff here went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. When someone noticed I was trying to Shazam a song that was playing (the music they play is pretty great), he went to the back to get the track for me. That was so nice! I wanted to tip them more but they told me standard tip is already included (which wasn't a lot imo). What I ordered: Tonkotsu X (£10.90 during my visit): Honestly one of the best ramens I've ever had. The broth was flavorful and smooth. The condiments complimented the whole experience. I picked this ramen bc its "exclusive to London" and I honestly didn't know when I'd come back. Definitely recommend. Overall, very happy with my whole experience. I will definitely pay them another visit when I get the chance to return to London.

Also they seem pretty Covid conscious with the screens dividing between the tables. I ordered the Menya Ramen which is essentially the regular Tonkatsu Ramen. I really appreciate the fact that this one already had a soft-boiled egg in it which I always think is the best part about ramen, and this one is no different. Wasn't the biggest fan of the chasu pork, but I did appreciate the seaweed as well as the rich broth. I thought the amount the gave was also quite a bit for the price, especially with the amount of noodles they had. Overall, pretty great experience at Menya. Will definitely come back for more!

I had the miso, very flavorful, chasu pork was perfect, just enough fat to be flavorful, very tender. Gyoza we're solid and the kimchee was very good. My son and I traded for a taste and next time I am going for the Menya Ramen, no spice. It was so savory, subtle, I wanted the bowl to be bottomless. Service was as prompt as possible for a Sunday afternoon after the museum. Line went fast. Thank you for the amazing meal.

If you don't pay attention you may walk past one of the BEST ramen experiences one may ever have…read more The restaurant was unassumingly stacked along all the other offering on Old Street. Upon entry, the staff greeted you warmly and were on point to execute a perfectly designed bowl of ramen for your eating pleasure. I honestly felt guilty from the way I enjoyed my ramen given how much my oldest daughter loves the food. I appreciated how open the staff was to making my bowl "extra" spicy and adding yet another egg even though it wasn't specifically on the menu but satisfied my particular desire. What added to the "realness" of the resturant was the steady flow of what seemed to be true ramen experts coming in and navigating the scene, menu, and food at lightning speed with even better eating results. If ramen is your thing, then you NEED to check out this place. Definitely one of the top spots for Ramen I've been to in all my travels.
