    Sake
    Kristin G.

Really enjoyed my dinner here a few nights ago. Meal was cooked fresh (took about 10-15 minutes to come out) and I enjoyed my sake while I waited. Both waiters stopped check how my meal was and I loved it. I'll definitely be here again.

Did not expect to find a ramen shop on top of a Whole Foods, but what a pleasant surprise. I ordered 3 Bird Wontomen (which is a seasonal Festive Specials item) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think they cooked the noodles wrong, though, because my first few bites were clumped together. The wontons were great. A little gamey but expected as they were filled with meat from pheasant, duck, and turkey. I loved how they put a dollop of chili garlic butter that melted/crumbled into the soup. Oh, and the broth has sake in it. Don't know if I've ever had broth with sake in it. I wonder if it helps to make the pulled duck less gamey. The wait staff is very nice. They have an Italian gal and I think a French gal who are super friendly.

Having been to a few locations, this one is just average. Great view of the street to people watch but there was something lacking in the generally good bowl of ramen. It's a bit hard to be rock'n'roll when you are located in a Whole Foods' food court but they still retained their loud music. Service was a bit touch and go. Lacked much vibe or energy. The food was decent. I had the seasonal garlic tantanmen. Pork chasu, minced pork, some spice, egg, bok choy and bamboo shoots. Broth was flavourful but didn't taste like it had been brewing for hours. Overall it's a good bowl of noodles, however I prefer the Soho location, which gives you more bang for your buck.

I was quite surprised to discover an entire food court above whole foods in our quest for bone daddies. The current spell of weather has me constantly seeking out soup and ramen kind of eateries. After a trip to the design museum, was trying to find a place for early dinner and "nearby" search on yelp, revealed bone daddies that I had previously bookmarked. While it is set in a food court, bone daddies has its own space for diners, so once you enter, you do get a restaurant feel. We arrived early around 6:30, but there were already a few tables occupied with people sharing small plates and drinks from their extensive menu. We settled on a jasmine tea and carrot orange juice respectively (alcohol detox diet is on, otherwise I would have loved to try some of the exciting sakes on the menu) The table had an array of condiments - spicy chilli paste (vegetarian, no shrimp, yay for me), sesame seeds, garlic marinated vinegar. The lady kindly got us some extra chilli oil when I asked for my ramen to be spicy. They also offered hair ties (elastic bands) and plastic bibs. Such a thoughtful gesture for eating ramen. He had, had a late lunch and didn't want a main course, but I was really hungry. So we settled for multiple small plates and one main. The fried chicken went well with wasabi mayo dip that accompanied the chicken summer roll. I do think the fried chicken deserved the dip more than the roll. The chilli pork bao was lovely, but I was surprised to only receive one piece (a previous picture on this group may have skewed my expectations) It was large, so we cut it in half to share. The pickled shiitake was perfect for what I wanted (cutting the viscous texture of the tonkotsu ramen) The ramen was perfect. I liked the lower proportion of noodles to veggies. And I had ordered extra mushrooms and pork. While I prefer a higher proportion of protein and veg to carb, I have to admit that I could have enjoyed a lot more of the noodles (you have the option to order extra) They were really good. The little mochi ice cream balls were perfect. Not too sweet, just a hint of sweetness. I tried the yuzu, hazelnut and chocolate & despite being a chocoholic, I have to say the yuzu & hazelnut were much preferred. I now know where I'm going for dinner anytime I'm on Kensington high street in the evenings. There's so much more in the starters menu that I want to try and I love their version of the tonkotsu ramen.

I got the spicy pork ramen and yuzu lychee juice. The broth of the pork ramen was very tasty, might be a tiny bit salty depends on your preference on taste. I think it was a little smaller than I expected. There are some handy ramen eating tools on the table, like hair ties and aprons. They also have fresh cloves of garlic and a garlic press on the table, it added a great flavor to my ramen. The juice was amazing, very refreshing and perfect on the sweetness. Great location because you can shop at Whole Foods after you eat and there are many places to shop around on the same street.

I've been to the Bone Daddies in Soho and have to say that I prefer this one in Whole Foods as it's more spacious, has better seating and the music isn't blaring so loud as they have it at the Soho branch. It's definitely more family friendly too I'd say. The Soho branch can get very busy especially in the evenings and you may need to wait outside. Not sure how busy the Whole Foods store gets as we came for lunch but if you have to wait, at least you're not standing outside! It's also great that the menu here is a mix of Bone Daddies and Flesh & Buns and includes hirata buns. I had the T22 chicken ramen which has a rich broth full of flavour. You also can't go wrong with the tonkotsu ramen too. Would recommend this place.

This ramen joint is situated up on the 2nd floor of Whole Foods in High Street Kensington, which we discovered unexpectedly. The food and service was great! Very attentive and we were able to get our orders rather quickly as well. We had ordered the T22 and the yuzu tonkotsu ramen, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert we had the green tea mochi ice cream. The consistency of the mochi was just right: soft, thin and chewy just the way I like it! Interesting tip: each table has a container filled with hair ties, so if you need one they got one ready for you. How cool is that!? Worth trying! I'll be making another trip for sure.

    Mushroom ramen. Amazing
    Amanda M.

I'm obsessed with bone daddies. The mushroom ramen is what I will always get. That was because it was the one veggie based one but since I started coming they also have a tofu curry ramen. I found that to be a tad too spicy and the broth didn't have as rich or deep of flavour as the mushroom. The tofu curry had padron peppers which are nice and also deep fried tofu- super heavy and delicious but overall not as good. The mushroom ramen dish has mushroom butter (still don't know what that is), mushrooms, an egg, pak choi, tofu, asparagus and noodles. I love the noodles and the broth. It's the best ramen I've had in London and maybe ever but I'm still deciding that. ;)

The food was great, it was well done. The beer was served in a cold glass, which was watered down on the sides to stop bubbles escaping, so the bubbles ensured oxygenation of the taste experience and so a fuller flavour. The food had full flavours and was cooked to perfection and with great skill. However the restaurant area was understaffed, or one person was working and the other appeared to he but was not effective. The effort to get service undermined the experience and the atmosphere to such a degree, I may not bother or want to come back again. The front of house lady did all she could, but that did not reduce the suffering and frustration of the experience.

Ok ramen, broth was a tad oily. Eggs were done right though. Lots of ramen eating equipment a nice touch, hair bands , aprons/bibs garlick press. Went for the chicken wings as a starter, over done the sauce in my opinion - probably should have asked for that to be on the side

Mushroom ramen & fresh squeezed juice.
    Justine J.

This place was a welcome surprise on the second floor of a Whole Foods Market, but the ramen wasn't as awesome as I'd hoped. They had one option on the menu that sounded INCREDIBLE but they were inexplicably out of a main ingredient, so I had to go with a mushroom ramen instead. It was good but overall the taste wasn't very strong. But their fresh squeezed juice combinations were INCREDIBLE, and they managed to have a surprising amount of atmosphere squeezed in such a small space.

Speaking of tables, it's worth noting that they have embedded floor seating so the tables are low to the ground, but you still sit in a chair-like position. So you're sitting on the floor, on a cushion, and there's no back to rest against. I do not wear a dress when I come here, and it can be difficult to clamber into the "seat". They also have normal tables, too so be sure to ask for that if you want it.
