    Truffle ramen

Yummmmm!! I had 0 expectations when coming here. It was cold in London and this sounded perfect. My husband and I both ordered the truffle ramen and it did not disappoint. It was full of flavor but not overwhelming. The service was fine. They brought us our food promptly. The restaurant mimicked the small feel of Japan styled restaurants. It was really cute. The only thing that might need work is their restrooms. Highly recommend this place for ramen.

Last time we came to Kanada Ya was 3 years ago. The ramen is just as good as we remembered and worth the 30-40min wait. Surprised there was a wait even at 2PM! In looking at old photos, the quantity seems to have diminished (both for noodles and broth), but at least the taste is consistently good!

Yummy ramen with no frills or gimmicks. Party of four throughly enjoyed your ramen on a cold and rainy day. It was hot and tasty. Everything was perfect. Thank you!

The food and sake was amazing. Truffle edamame is a must have. Truffle ramen is delicious. There's a theme.. anything with truffles is delicious. The ramen noodle is fresh and not the top ramen kind of ramen. Kids loved it. Husband ordered the tonkansu X which was delicious, but he liked my truffle ramen better. We would definitely come by. Kids approved. They don't have desserts at this location, but you may be stuffed from the edamame and ramen. Service was ok. Hostess was very nice. It took awhile for anyone to noticed us but the food made up for it.

Very good Ramen spot, maybe not the best in London but at least in my Top 3. I had a Spicy Yuzu Ramen with all the toppings and extra Hanjuku egg that was really good. The broth was tasty and mildly spicy so that it could be easily enjoyed. Noodles were also good and just enough to go with the generous amount of good toppings. Service is very good: friendly, quick and efficient.

TONKOTSU £12.10 + £2.00 (Hanjuku Egg) pork bone broth, chashu pork belly, spring onion, wood ear fungus 4/5 FOOD 4/5 VALUE 5/5 SERVICE 5/5 CLEANLINESS The broth was thick, slightly gloopy, and had a strong flavour, all hallmarks of authentic Japanese ramen. The Hanjuku egg was prepared and marinated perfectly as the gooey yolk oozes into the broth. The noodle itself requires more work as it has got a bite to it and would be greatly improved if it were prepared in the broth for a little longer. This allows for the noodle to become softer and one with the soup, allowing the aroma of the broth to simmer into the noodle. The pork belly was thinly sliced to bite size. The fat was not overpowering or greasy but the lean was slightly over salted on its own. However, when complemented with some broth, the flavour paired perfectly. The staff were very friendly, speedy, and diligent in attending to the customers' needs.

Usually when I go to a new city, I want to try as much as possible. I went here TWICE in my 3 week stay in London - that's how awesome this place is! My favorite ramen place was in San Diego, CA up until I came here. This easily ties for first. The broth is so flavorful. I'd opt for the hard noodles, as the menu suggests. It's the perfect amount of crunch/soft. It's tiny and while I didn't wait the first time to be seated, I waited in the line for 30 mins to be seated the second time. I had the traditional the first and the pumpkin one the second round. Both with an egg, as that is easily my favorite part of ramen. How they get that egg so good... magic. Not sure. The tuna appetizer didn't really do anything for me - a lot of rice with some yummy spice and then some tuna spread in the middle. I'd skip that. Oh! And they have black garlic oil. It's a must. No matter which ramen you choose, the black garlic oil is an absolute must. This is definitely book marked for my next round in London!

Their TRUFFLE RAMEN is the best ramen I've ever had!! Cute shop near Soho area. There can sometimes be a wait but we got lucky. Service was great - fast, friendly, kind. We ordered the salmon rice ball, toneki and truffle ramen. Toppings such as eggs are extra and you can choose your ramen firmness. Tonkatsu - super creamy broth!! The London version (Tonkatsu X) is less creamy. It was great and not super salty. Truffle Ramen - It came with a spoonful of truffle that you mix into the broth. It's so strong but absolutely amazing!! You can taste the truffle but it still keeps the flavor of your typical ramen broth. Noodles were great (hard) and decent portions. Rice balls - just alright. Salmon wasn't flavored at al it seemed like but the rice was good. It really lacked in comparison to the ramen. Would have loved to come back again just for this truffle ramen.

All time favorite ramen in London, affordable price and great location! Good collection of Sake with several deals available throughout the week

On my recent trip to London/Paris I became addicted to ramen and Kirin beer! This place was right around the corner from where we were staying and it consistently had a line out the door which made me think it must be good. I was right! We waited in line for about 20 minutes and were seated at a table downstairs. Pork bones are simmered for 18 hours to create the delicious tonkotsu broth. Bowls of this are then filled with thin wheat noodles cooked to your specification, from super-firm to super-soft (hard is the recommendation and what we had). I am going to have to look REALLY hard to find a place half as good as this at home.

This was Pre-Covid: After eating many English foods during our time here, we needed a change and we were feeling something warm and soupy to combat the cold winter weather. This ramen was good for London standards but coming from California, it was only decent enough to fill the craving.

Despite the constant queue and small interior, Kanada-Ya is right at the top when it comes to ramen in London. To avoid the long wait, my friend and I came on a Sunday at 6:15pm. We were seated by 6:30pm and our orders were taken shortly after we sat down. For starters, we shared a karaage. This was alright. I felt that there was too much batter but the chicken was really tender. For my ramen, I usually go for the tonkotsu but wanted to try something different this time. I decided on the truffle tonkotsu and my friend got the regular tonkotsu and an egg (extra) for both of us. You can choose the level of firmness for your noodles and we both picked "hard" as recommended by the restaurant. The truffle tonkotsu definitely did not disappoint. The truffle flavor and scent were strong but I could still taste the creaminess of the tonkotsu broth. The pork was flavorful and had just the right amount of fattiness though I wished each piece was thicker! What I loved most was the heaping serve of scallions and the yolks of the tamago. They were flavorful and cooked perfectly - even though the egg is extra I highly recommend getting it! The only thing I wish could be better was the thickness and the texture of the noodles - the noodles were pretty thin even though we got "hard" noodles it still felt less than al dente. In terms of taste, Kanadaya is definitely my favorite ramen joint in London. I'll be back frequently!

    Gekikara ramen - highly recommend!!!!

There are a few negatives about this place.... it's really small, the egg isn't included, the line of people waiting outside makes you feel like you need to rush, and they don't take reservations. However, even considering all of that, Kanada-Ya probably makes the best ramen in London. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles are cooked to your liking (although they recommend 'hard'). I ordered the Gekikara which was full of delicious spicy pork flavor. Oh.. and the hanjuku egg? It's definitely the tastiest soft boiled egg I've ever had. Worth the extra £2. I literally woke up the next morning thinking about this ramen. I can't wait to come back!

The space alone is worth the visit--set inside a stunning cathedral with stained glass windows and beautiful woodwork, it's unlike anything else in London. Even the pulpit has been transformed into a gin bar, and there's also a German craft beer bar, which just adds to the uniqueness of the experience. The food options are incredible--basically something for everyone. We saw everything from homemade pasta and Napoli-style pizza to British grass-fed burgers, tacos and margaritas, pad Thai, Indian dishes, gelato, wine, and desserts like baklava and banana pudding. It's almost overwhelming (in a good way), and perfect for a group with different tastes. Seating is a bit of an adventure--main floor is first-come, first-served and fills up fast, the upstairs has limited small tables, and the basement offers more intimate, restaurant-style spaces that looked like they take reservations. My advice: get there early to grab a table, or plan to enjoy a drink while soaking in the lively, energetic atmosphere. Overall, an amazing spot for groups and a must-visit if you're in London and want great food, drinks, and a truly memorable setting. Until next time...
