Fantastic ramen! Nice dining experience! The service was awesome! The restaurant was also very easy to find, it's just beside the road.

Signature bowl of amen. Personally, 7/10.

The noodles didn't quite donut for me. Not the perfect texture. And the wait was somewhat longer than expected. And more importantly, the restaurant was a tad on the hot side. Better ventilation would have been better.

The ramen was truly excellent, and the broth was impeccable. I also ordered a lychee cocktail and that was DELICIOUS. My dad also really loved the kara age chicken AS HE SHOULD. The chicken was tender and the accompanying sauce honestly slayed. All in all, 10/10. Excellent experience, highly recommend! Also, just the greatest staff. We came by after watching Hadestown around the corner, and the staff were really kind and welcoming, especially at the relatively late hour. We wanted to make sure we wouldn't be holding them up, but they graciously seated us and put our order in quickly so we could maximize our eating time. Thank you again!

I would say I am pretty predictable when it comes to finding ramen places. I ALWAYS try to go to at least one ramen place wherever I am. It doesn't always work out but most of the time it does. This time, it worked out. We chose this place because it got good reviews. The inside is really nice, rustic with a modern twist. I'm almost 100% positive we were seated upstairs. My fiancee and his sister both got the tonkatsu ramen. I got the Shoryu Ganso Tonkatsu, which is their signature ramen. I think it's really difficult to f*ck up ramen, so of course, the ramen was really really good. I also got the virgin yuzu mojito, which was tart, but I liked it. I couldn't tell if it was just me but the waitress was a bit short with us. Maybe I was just imagining it. Regardless, I can see why this place gets good reviews. It's a modern-rustic place for great ramen. Perfect place for friends and dates.

Excellent service, food, and location! The ramen was fresh and hot, the wine selection was nice, and the restroom was clean! This place is a perfect match for cold weather. The pork bun is amazing! You have to try it!

The weather forecast in London called for sunshine. That sun never came and it was bitter cold. Nothing helps a cloudy windy cold day go by like a hot bowl of ramen! This place was a short walk from our hotel and we made reservations online in fear of having to wait in a big line. Many Filipinos were inside waiting tables and cooking. So not sure if this location is owned from someone in the Philippines? The food, service, timing was excellent! The ramen broth was excellent with a silky delicious pork flavor and would love to go return when in town.

Solid Michelin star ramen located just south of Picadilly Circus in the heart of London. Highly recommend the house ramen which had excellent flavours, generous garnishes and perfect flavour. Would have liked a tiny bit more pork belly but overall was fantastic. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid bowl of ramen in London!

This was the best bowl of ramen I've had!

I am so excited to write this review! Today I went to Shoryu Ramen for lunch and from the moment I walked in I knew it was going to be good! I went with a friend who is a ramen virgin and she left wanting more! Hands down the best bowl of Ramen I have had outside of Japan! We arrived around noon and the place was nearly empty! We noticed a lot of tables said reserved but thankfully they had a few open ones in the back. We were one of 2 seated tables. Our server was amazing and quickly came over and took our orders! I wanted something meaty and spicy so I went with the Karaka Tan Tan Tonkotsu! This was the best ramen ever! They ask you hear how you want your noodles. You can have them soft, medium, or hard noodles! I got it with soft noodles. It was a tonkotsu broth with a twist - rich and spicy marinated minced pork instead of one giant piece of pork belly! It had garlic and chiu chow chili oil! It was delicious and I finished every drop of my bowl! As an appetizer we decided to get the bbq pork belly buns on a steamed bun! They were super tasty and wonderful! It was so good! They were huge and had spicy mayo on them. The bun had a piece of cabbage and a cucumber spear on it! Each bite of the bun was delicious! The service was wonderful! Our waiter made sure we had everything we could want! The restaurant is kinda small inside, but it's a traditional ramen shop! I've never been in a ramen shop that's bigger than a counter and a few tables! This ramen shop also has a full bar for those who want a drink. They also give free ice! This is a big deal in Europe! I can't say enough good things about this place! Hands down this was amazing! I have nothing bad to say! I hands down recommended this place and it won't come to a surprise if you see me check in here again this week! I 100% recommend!

This was a wonderful ramen experience. The food was delicious, and the beer was cold. I took the waiters advice on everything I ordered, so I can't tell you the name of any of it, but it was delicious. They provided a bib, which is something I'm not accustomed to, but found very useful, as I tend to get broth on my shirt when slurping ramen.

Delicious Tonkatsu ramen and yummy Japanese fried chicken ! I am delighted to find such authentic Japanese ramen in London.

After a cold day walking around London, the idea of a hot bowl of noodles sounded great. There was a bit of a line to get in so that was a good sign. Turns out this is a chain. To some, that's off putting or inauthentic. But when done in a respectful way - and tasty way, who cares? When you finally get called for saying they hit a drum and yell something that's supposed to be in Japanese. Cute and sets the Japanese motif. I like that you are able to request noodle doneness for the ramen. In general, I found the ramen (we tried two different ones) to be a little bland but otherwise really good. It had the nice soft boiled egg (but with a slightly reddish yolk). The BBQ pork bao was pretty delicious with a substantial piece of meat. The Soho platter was a pretty posh sampler of food including sashimi, tempura, and Kara age chicken for two. They even had a near-frozen Asahi beer that really hit the spot against the fatty broth of the ramen. We skipped the cocktails but they looked really delicious. We skipped dessert but overall, it was a pretty good meal and surprisingly inexpensive vs. expectations. Would definitely recommend this place for ramen cravings!

Visited due to the positive reviews online, but thought the shop was just mediocre. We arrived shortly after 11:30, but the restaurant was behind opening (opening listed was 11:30). After the employees finally gathered themselves, we were sat down and ordered a couple ramens and a takoyaki. The takoyaki arrived first and it was too heavily breaded, the octopus was barely noticeable. There was also way too much of the bonita flakes on top - there wasn't even room for them to flap around. The ramen came, and we were only delivered one. Our server seemed confused, but we were more confused - why would 2 people order 1 bowl of ramen.. the ramen was just ok. The noodles tasted packaged and not consistently cooked between the 2 bowls. The soup tasted less rich than it looked. Wouldn't recommend.

"My favorite stop in London ! and for years I had such a great experience here. The staff is very welcoming. They are very traditional ramen restaurant. They have a great variety for you to choose from and everything was very fresh the broth and the meat are made here. The Ramen was Amazing! The Pork cuts were the best I've ever had, melts in your mouth. Crispy chicken was also pretty good. Ramen broth is so good yummy especially in cold weather. Be prepared for a long wait to be seated though as it's super busy and I can see why! Can't wait to try other things on the menu next time & I Will definitely recommend this place"

I was lucky enough to, along with a colleague, be taken here on several occasions for a quick lunch by a client (indicative of how welcoming the Japanese are!) By 'genuine' I mean no dumbed-down menus, no super-slick interiors to detract from potentially average food, and no gimmicks of any kind. The place is staffed and run by Japanese nationals as any self-respecting Japanese restaurant should be - and perhaps more importantly, frequented by them regularly, too. Service is smiling and attentive and no more that it needs to be. The food is inexpensive (~£6-8 for a bento, £7-11 for ramen, udon or donburi) and so tasty. On my most recent trip I had beef ramen with tan tan (sesame paste) soup base, and my brother had salmon teriyaki on brown rice. Both dishes had generous proportions of meat/fish, and the donburi came with a side salad and pickles. The unagi (eel) is also lovely, and the place does an extensive line in pick-your-soup base noodle bowl dishes where you have the option of shoyu, miso, and sesame as mentioned above, among others. I can't speak for the takeaway bento, but they looked pretty solid and of a decent quality. Drinks come in the familiar (Coke etc) and the more, um, 'traditional' - aloe vera juice, Pocari, cold bottled green and black teas and others. This place is rather hidden away on the fringes of the City, behind Aldgate station on the Petticoat Lane side. In many ways it's a great location as it's very much a local haunt, and in others a little frustrating as even if you're working in the City it can be a fair walk to get there and back! My advice would also be to get there early (between midday and half-past) to ensure a seat, as well as before some of the more popular items on the menu disappear. In brief summary, I couldn't really recommend this place enough if you're in the area. You'll get multi-kudos from any friends Nippon friends (or appreciators of their incredible cuisine) and have a lunch to beat the hell out of an uninspired sandwich / soft-drink combo whilst spending a similarly scant amount of your hard-earned cash. As your fellow diners would say: "itedakimas!"
