    Tokyo Cock Ramen
    Erin O.

Stopped in for a quick bowl of ramen after long walk around Hyde Park and the surrounding streets. I went with the Tokyo Cock Cock which came with cock scratchings. Now what is that you ask? It's fried chicken skin in spices. Was odd but it worked. Ramen was solid if unspectacular. Maybe could have used more noodles? Music was totally on point, they must have known I was coming as they played 90's hits one after the other. Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog, and so on. A+ on the music made me linger with my Jasmin tea.

Great place for Raman on a cold rainy London day. Small and crowded, we shared a long table with others. The spicy edamame was tasty as was the raman. Interestingly, on the table, there was a jar of whole garlic to add to the meal and a jar of hair ties for long hair. That's a first! Also, on the table was a stack of bibs to keep clothes soup splatter clean. Very clever!

Holy amazing ramen, Batman! We swing in here for a quick ramen fix before leaving Marylebone. We both got the Pork Pork Chilli, which has charred pork belly, pork mince, chilli, chilli oil, spring onion, bamboo, bean sprouts, a killer egg, and awesome ramen noodles! Aaaagh, so damn good. You can pay £2 more and add a ton of stuff like another egg, more meat, veggies, you name it. We sat at the bar, drank pints of Asahi, and stuffed our faces. If you dig ramen, swing through, they're killer.

Ramen is one of my favorite things so I was excited to try this place after recently discovering it. We were able to be seated right away on a Friday night, which was nice. We ordered the fried chicken bao as a starter. It was so delicious- I would eat that as my entire meal it was so good. The ramen itself was fantastic as well, I really loved the fried pork that was in it. Overall, this is great spot to get ramen and I think it will soon be one of my go to places.

My experience is limited to one visit, without checking Yelp reviews beforehand (which are not all favorable toward the ramen served here). Walked by, noticed they had three (!) different tantanmen ramen dishes on the menu (one of my favorites), which is what drew me inside on a busy rainy London evening. Tried the Tantanmen #1 - reasonably rich broth and great taste, nice balance of accoutrements, and finished every drop! Also had the yuzu margarita - delicious (yuzu being another of my Japanese favorites). With ramen, my experience is: you just gotta try before you can judge!

We tried the Miso and Tonkotsu ramen. They were both so good. We also had a side of edamame and wings. It took a while for the food to come out, but the wait was worth it. The restaurant had a cool look.

I've visited this location for two pop ups over two years. I like the ramen takeover concept as someone who knows their regular menu well. Both times were great for different reasons. This year was a shoyu broth which was simple but delicious. There were some slight variations but ultimately one type to get and it was good. Not too salty broth, generous amount of toppings and satisfying. We got an order of broccoli and fried chicken on the side. Broccoli was cooked perfectly and went well with the sesame sauce. The fried chicken was a little dry so not as good as I've had before. Drink menu is decent from sake, beer and wine to cocktails and soda. Service was quick and friendly. Coming on a weeknight did not have a long wait, thankfully.

Pros: service was great, and they carry an awesome cider. Also, their menu has a good variety! Cons: broth is flavorful, but the rest of the dish was pretty bland.

Really good ramen spot near Oxford St. I ordered their yuzu tonkatsu ramen. It was delicious but I thought it was too oily for my liking. I can really taste the yuzu in the ramen, will come again if I am in the area.

I really love the Japanese ramen here, very tasty pork and ramen! It is also reasonably priced at around 11-15 depending on what you order.

Food was very poor. All 3 people in my party left their meals because it didn't taste good.

The space alone is worth the visit--set inside a stunning cathedral with stained glass windows and beautiful woodwork, it's unlike anything else in London. Even the pulpit has been transformed into a gin bar, and there's also a German craft beer bar, which just adds to the uniqueness of the experience. The food options are incredible--basically something for everyone. We saw everything from homemade pasta and Napoli-style pizza to British grass-fed burgers, tacos and margaritas, pad Thai, Indian dishes, gelato, wine, and desserts like baklava and banana pudding. It's almost overwhelming (in a good way), and perfect for a group with different tastes. Seating is a bit of an adventure--main floor is first-come, first-served and fills up fast, the upstairs has limited small tables, and the basement offers more intimate, restaurant-style spaces that looked like they take reservations. My advice: get there early to grab a table, or plan to enjoy a drink while soaking in the lively, energetic atmosphere. Overall, an amazing spot for groups and a must-visit if you're in London and want great food, drinks, and a truly memorable setting. Until next time...

Also they seem pretty Covid conscious with the screens dividing between the tables. I ordered the Menya Ramen which is essentially the regular Tonkatsu Ramen. Wasn't the biggest fan of the chasu pork, but I did appreciate the seaweed as well as the rich broth. I thought the amount the gave was also quite a bit for the price, especially with the amount of noodles they had. Overall, pretty great experience at Menya. Will definitely come back for more!
