We moved out of state, and we still haven't found...and probably never will find...another place quite like Mel & Faye's. It's the food, the drinks, the service, but more than anything, it's the people. My go-to is the cranberry walnut salad with chicken (so good!), and Sean loves the sourdough burger. The food is always great, but honestly, we come back for the atmosphere and the people who make this place feel like family. Mary is always a hoot as our server, and we absolutely love the entire staff. Bart and Maura have created something really special here, and we appreciate them more than they know. Every time we come back to town, one of the things we look forward to most is walking through those doors, seeing familiar faces, catching up, and feeling right at home again. We miss everyone when we're away, but it makes our visits that much more special. Mel & Faye's will always be our home away from home.

It's a classic diner, so the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect, but the service was excellent and my meal was good. I appreciated the "Seniors 59 and Older" section on the menu--perfect for those of us who don't eat as much as we used to. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich ($8.49), which came with bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. It was a perfect portion and very tasty. Would definitely stop here again.

We pulled up Yelp to find a good lunch spot, saw the solid reviews, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, the atmosphere had that small-town vibe--simple, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was very good. The service wasn't polished like a Michelin star restaurant, but it didn't need to be. It was authentic and heartfelt, and sometimes that matters more. You could tell the staff cared about what they were doing. The place was busy, especially for the time of day we went, which tells you something. People come here on purpose. That says a lot. We were seated quickly, our order was taken without any issues, and the food came out in a reasonable time. When it hit the table, the portions were generous and satisfying. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the moment. If you go, post your photos--I'm sure the business would appreciate it. If you've followed my reviews, you know I don't give out 4 stars often, and 5 stars are rare. This place earned that extra star because of how it made me feel--between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, it just worked. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm definitely coming back for another meal.

We literally poured liquid out of it multiple times. On the flip side, the lemon poppyseed waffle was a solid 10/10 and definitely the standout food item for us. I'm giving 3 stars because there's clearly potential here. The drinks were great, the waffle was amazing, and I do think this place could easily be a 5-star experience with more attentive service and a little more consistency in the kitchen. French toast looked yummy with a nice amount of fruit on top and my friend seemed to enjoy it. I don't think I'd come back since the food is so unpredictable. A few things to fix - the bench seat wobbled whenever anyone moved at the other end, and the hot sauce wooden cap needs to be glued on! - it keep turning and comes off and gets glue in peoples food and looks gross underneath. The clam chowder was the soup of the day and so so good, I love when clam chowder has potatoes with the skin still attached. I read a review about their experience at Franks and the French Dip and the service I just want to say we were sitting at the table in front of them and the waitress was not rude but did want to know why she was unsatisfied because she wanted to correct it. And she did not guilt her into anything. She did defend their food because there is nothing wrong . There were several people having the French Dip and no complaints. Don't let one disgruntled costumer keep you from Franks because it is a very good restaurant and wonderful people running it
