On the road and heading home after a week of carbs, here's the last big meal with carbs before getting back to my keto diet. Not very busy this morning at 8:40, I went right to the "All Star" which is a major quantity of food - city ham (I find the country ham too salty), waffle, two eggs (over medium), hash browns and toast. With this much going on, I skipped adding my usual cheese to the hash browns. The food was quick and hot, served all together. It's great when they are able to time the waffle with the eggs. Friendly service and the only ding is that I did have to ask for more coffee. Service was amazing and food was hot and fresh. Came in around 10am which I would imagine to be extremely busy, in which it was. Waited for about 5 minutes before a table opened up. Food wasnt all that great. Server seemed like she was new. Very quiet but really polite. The cooking station wasnt all that clean but we were on the road and hungry. They need to season their food. Great Waffle House. Staff seemed happy to work together and everything came out on time and correctly. My only disappointment is I didn't see any guests make a scene which is kinda expected at a Waffle House. Then I realized the top of my right sandal detached from the sole of the shoe and I had to get up and pay then awkwardly walk out like a culturally appropriated hobo. We waited maybe 20 min to get a seat and waited another 20 to pay our bill. It wasn't on the waitstaff, they were just swamped with all the diners. Had the most incompetent waitress yesterday. Place has limited seating, and there were more staff than customers. We came in before a 4 top and ordered. Guess who got more face time than us? Yep. 4 top. My son and I were second class citizens. Wanted hash browns brought out grits. Son got hash browns first, no waffle. No sausage. After a long wait, she brings hash browns. Just about to take the plate, she makes a 180 and heads to the 4 top and gives it to them. Guess who gets his browns dead last, after my son's completely finished? Me. Gave her a 12% tip. Horrible experience to start... my brother and I went to this Waffle House for breakfast this morning. The tables were all dirty so we stood next to a booth waiting for the table to be cleaned. The waitress Brittnay walked up to the table, picked up the last customers receipt and walked away. We remained standing and awaited her return. A few minutes later she returned to an empty table 2 Botha away and started cleaning it. No one was waiting for the table at the time so I walked over and said, "excuse me, we are waiting for this table". She said, (very rudely) "I know that! This is my table to and I'll clean that one next!" I said, "But no one is waiting on this table and we've been standing for a while waiting." She said, "I'm cleaning that one next"! So I said, "Never mind, we'll go see elsewhere". At which time she turned around and walked toward the cash register and said, "sh*t, I'm going outside!" As my brother and I were walking away there was a couple at another booth that said to us, "She's had a horrible attitude since we've been here. We complained to the manager." While this was going on Alli cleaned the booth and since she Brittnay was gone we decided to go on and eat there. Alli (much to the contrary) was delightful, helpful, attentive and friendly! As we were leaving I asked to speak the the manager. Justin (after some time) came up and I explained our experience. After I was done he looked at me blankly and said, "OK". After what seemed like a minute but was only few seconds I said, "well what are you going to to?" He said, "I'm not going to tell you what I'm going to do to discipline an employee but I'll talk to her." They are serving a limited menu. When other waffle houses are serving a full menu. I wasn't informed of this until after waiting 10 minutes for a seat . Then after I sat down I was told. They could scramble an egg but not fry the egg. What does that have to do with a limited menu? Hashbrowns were served plain or cheese only. No scattered smothered covered chunked or peppered . There was no butter on the toast . They forgot the waffle and never came back to the table to bring the check . We had to ask for the waffle and check. Worst Waffle House experience ever. read more

The food was good, the service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean. I tried the bacon, egg and cheese hash brown bowl with sausage gravy on top. It was delicious and more than I could finish. The staff was incredibly RUDE! It took forever to get helped when there were so few customers & a glut of employees! The eggs I ordered had so much runny white that I couldn't eat it! The hash browns were dry & overcooked! I had to wait to be helped while the workers chit chatted! I tried multiple times to get water, but they were so absorbed in their "having fun" while working that I didn't get water till the end of my meal! Instead of cleaning up after guests left, they were joking & laughing & having a great time while customers were looking for clean tables to sit at. No sense of responsibility among the workers. There was one particularly overweight white woman with shorter hair who was rude to other people coming in. I'm not at all prejudiced against heavy people. I'm very overweight myself! She sat on her butt & watched everyone else work. She seemed to run the place even though she wasn't the manager. There was a lady there who sang a song. This woman told her she needed to leave. It was so wrong & rude. The folks eating seemed to really like it! It created quite a scene , which was unnecessary! What a crazy work dynamic! Oh well, I won't be going back there again! I recommend you don't as well! Some of her verbiage was racist! I was shocked because in this part of the country, it's very heavily black. I don't get it!! I'm blown away by my experience! Who does this? She never smiled or engaged customers & basically made people feel uncomfortable being there! She had a hard time doing her job because she just sat around the entire time I was eating. But the worst was when I saw a customer upset. The cook didn't see that I was watching. It looked to me like he spit in the food when a customer got a bit frustrated that his food wasn't done correctly. I know not to say anything or you'll get spit in your food! I overheard them talking about how the customer would be sorry they complained. I have to say that I've never experienced such pathetic customer service as I experienced here. I am an observer. Other customers eating there were seemingly frustrated with the service! This place needs more oversight!!! I have a feeling that management has no idea what goes on when they aren't there! They need to fire the help they have & get new employees that care about the customers. Actually, they need a new manager too! I have no desire to go to another Waffle House after my experience. I don't expect much when I come to Waffle House and this location STILL let me down. Let's start with the positives... our booth was clean, the waitress was very nice and service was decent. Oh, and the bathroom was clean. That's where the goodness ends. Offered a hashbrown bowl, a waffle and an All-star. Waffle bowl came out missing gravy, we were missing a waffle and sauage. Through a few more trips, the waitress figured it out. Unfortunately, my over-medium eggs were more like over-done and the waffles were both cold and burnt. How does that happen?! I feel like you have to try to ruin waffles like that. Also, if the food you are serving is in your restaurant name, maybe you should strive to serve that food prepared at least relatively decently. It's fast food in a diner type setting. Had to ask the waitress for three different cups because of things floating around in the water. The food is decently priced and they have a lot of options. Open 24 hours it's the only thing open when you're either drunk and need to sober up quickly or getting off work and don't have anything left in the house to cook. Private parking lot. Fast service on the food. Workers are always pretty entertaining and nice. I don't eat here often or even more than a few times a year. Terrible making food with hair hanging instead of up out the way of food, 1 of the cooks never changed gloves the whole time I waited to even be acknowledged and he moved throughout the cooking area touched different food with the same gloves. But I swear I watched a man pick up bacon with his bare hands and transfer it over to the next side of the grill bypassing about three other people to do it! Seems as if every time we attempt to call in an order this location has an issue where they can't take the order which forces us to go to another location where they always work through any issues. One time it was no containers and this time it was I can't hear you on the phone. The other location improvised and used lids and Saran Wrap. Best Waffle House I've been to by far. Best service and of course great food. Our server, Johnathan, was a great host and very friendly. Always checking to see if we needed anything extra and just a great guy overall. I'd also like to thank their Assistant Manager, Joe, for restoring our faith in Waffle House. I have been to many Waffle Houses in my travels, this one by far is the cleanest. We walked in tired and worn down from being stuck in traffic on I-10 (for hours) and we had the privilege of meeting Jonathan. He bring such a good positive energy to the place. He is funny and kind. He anticipated our needs before we had to ask for anything. We walked out feeling happy and energized, I can't say that about one restaurant. Jonathan is a unique gem. He works Monday-Thursday; go see him. He is the epitome of what it is to be southern & hospitable. I will never again drive past this Waffle House without stopping by to visit Jonathan.
