I originally planned to leave a higher rating because the donuts themselves were delicious. They weren't quite as fresh as Butter Krisp in Covington, which is where we used to go before moving this past weekend, but they were still very enjoyable. I visited the Pontchartrain location. As a first-time customer, I want to mention that the young girl, Holland, working the drive-thru around 6 a.m. was very upbeat and kind. However she couldn't be more than 15-16 years old, if that. After the charge posted to my account, I noticed it was more than double what I was originally charged. My total at the window was just $5.48, and I did not add a tip since I went through the drive-thru. When the charge finalized, it showed over $13.48. I'm not sure if this was an honest mistake or Holland entering an $8 tip that I didn't give her, but it was concerning to see such a large difference after the transaction was completed. I would recommend customers double-checking their receipts and making sure "no tip" is written if they do not intend to leave one, to prevent something like this happening to them. I hope management looks into this so it doesn't happen to other customers. UPDATE: After speaking with Shannon, a shift manager, she stated if I brought my receipt in she'd handle it. I then told her Holland never provided a final receipt, only asked me to sign one and gave me my donuts through the drive-thru window and said "Have a good day". I did inform Shannon that I had a screenshot of the charge being updated in my back account and that she could view it here because I'd already left a review about my experience. Shannon then stated she will reach out to the owner Maddie to have this issue resolved. I will update this review on whether I do or do not receive a resolution to this matter. read more

I pulled my Ford Expedition across two spaces in the small parking lot as we have a hitch on the back to hold my disabled veteran husband's wheelchair and didn't want to block the entrance in the small parking lot. As soon as I entered the young lady lectured me about not parking that way because others could not park... this all before she even welcomed me in. I told her my reason for parking that way even though establishment was empty at the time and she continued to argue with me... I did not get a donut and instead took my money elsewhere... I come here sometimes when I'm in town checking on my house. Went there this morning around 8am. Ordered a I/2 dozen glaze donuts. They sold me cold, old donuts and this isn't the first or second time this happened. There won't be a third time because I will never go back there. I usually ask if the donuts are fresh. Even if they're not hot at the least give me something you made this morning not yesterday or day before. This time I didn't ask and she gave me crap. It's okay tho, I'm sure their lives are crappy too. Needless to say after two bites. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this place has gone down. I used to love going here on a Saturday morning with my kids. It mostly smells like cigarettes and there's alwaayd hi ugh flying around. The location is great, right off of a busy street. The donuts aren't bad though. Good place to stop in if you're in a hurry. I'm not a fan of the gnats swarming around occasionally. After eating Copeland's we wanted a very sweet treat! Also had a coupon for nearby locations and decided to step in this very very run-down looking gem! The place is very old school dingy and not very appealing, however mixed with the tip sign that was absolutely hilarious and put me in a great mood that I was already in the donuts are phenomenal! Sometimes it's not how things look but how things taste! I believe the owner's son was the one working the shift, very cool and gave me a lot of information about the doughnuts. These did not taste like your average franchise doughnuts from all those other big names. I definitely love the small-town feel with big flavor! Delicious donuts! You can't go wrong with any selection here. They are all good! You can get about any kind you can think of. On my last visit I tried the blueberry filled along with my usual glazed. So good!! I recommend. They serve the glazed warm. Service is usually pretty speedy and they have a drive thru as well. You can eat your donuts at the counter and they also have a few tables. If you are not in the mood for donuts, you can also order sliders at lunch. I think they have a couple other lunch items besides the sliders, but I can't remember what they are. We walked in to an empty donut shop except for a young man sitting at the counter. We seated ourselves at the counter and waited for a staff person to show up. After about 5 minutes, a young woman walks in. She barely glanced over at us and then proceeded to fill two boxes of donuts for a drive thru customer. She completely filled the two boxes and never once acknowledged us in any way. At that point we got up and walked out. We probably would have waited for her except for her long stringy hair hanging in the donuts, her ungloved hands, her short shorts, and the fact that the coffee pots were filthy and the cases and general appearance of the place was dirty. If you're looking for a wide selection this is not your place. Also they're often out of the few things they do carry, especially donut holes. I've gone at least 5 times and only been able to get donut holes once. They don't carry anything with sprinkles which I feel like is a staple of the donut business. Don't judge a book by it's cover. This establishment may not have the curb appeal of a corporate business such as Dunkin Donuts but it sure hits it out of the park with their donuts. The sit down eating area is medium in size. You have 2 choices for seating. You can eat at the bar/diner style stool seating or at a table. I took my wife and kids here to start our Saturday morning. It was about 9 am and the place had about 3 patrons in line to purchase donuts. A father and his 2 children were sitting at the stool seatings to the left of the display case eating donuts and washing it down with some milk. A couple at the stool seating to the right of the display case were enjoying their donuts with cups of coffee. A mother and her son was sitting at one of the tables also enjoying donuts with a bottle of milk. The staff was very friendly. 2 of my kids ordered the devils food donut, chocolate with chocolate glaze, the oldest ordered the bow tie with glaze, my wife picked a regular glaze and a chocolate frosting, I ordered the lemon crumble. The devils food was a little dry, my daughter said the bowtie was amazing. My wife said her donuts had a delicious crisp outside with a most chewy inside, my lemon crumble also had a crispy outer layer with delicious lemon filling, Yum. We washed these delicious treats with milk and coffee. This place had a drive thru. The restroom is located in the building but you have to leave out the door leading to the drive thru and go halfway towards the rear of the establishment, watch out for the cars going through the drive thru also when you exit the restrooms. As mentioned in my tip, this place can be a location to enjoy the simple joys of life and create memorable moments with your children. Make it a routine to visit and when your kids grow up you can reminisce about the fun Saturday mornings enjoying great donuts and milk. Based on reviews, my friends and I took a chance. The building is outdated and small. Looked a little sketchy. We walked in (3 ladies) and older gentlemen were seated at the counter. They looked like they have coffee there daily and the waitress seemed to know them all. Since we had never been there, and are from SC, we needed a few minutes to take it all in. Probably 10 flavors of donuts caught our gaze. We then noticed the case of amazing looking pastries!!! Cinnamon rolls bigger than your hand. Donuts the size of a 45 record. Apple fritters and elephant ears. I heard another customer ask about king cakes. The baker said he would have them in 20 minutes! What?!?! I waited 35 minutes to have one to bring home.
