After eating Copeland's we wanted a very sweet treat! Also had a coupon for nearby locations and decided to step in this very very run-down looking gem! The place is very old school dingy and not very appealing, however mixed with the tip sign that was absolutely hilarious and put me in a great mood that I was already in the donuts are phenomenal! Sometimes it's not how things look but how things taste! I believe the owner's son was the one working the shift, very cool and gave me a lot of information about the doughnuts. These did not taste like your average franchise doughnuts from all those other big names. I definitely love the small-town feel with big flavor! If I ever make it down this way again this is a definite stop, coupon or not!

Simply put, it's not worth it. Their inventory is always low and everyday is surprisingly an "early day."

The Sliders came with the best fried-to-perfection fries we've had in a long time - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and perfectly salted. The Tacos are made with handmade corn tortillas and a choice of two proteins. We chose Lomo Saltado (beef) and Aji de Gallina (chicken) - phenomenal flavors in each one! Peruvian food is a flavorful fusion of Indigenous, Spanish, Asian, and African influences known for bold flavors, fresh seafood, rice dishes, and vibrant sauces. Everything we ordered was a hit and I'll definitely be back for more! 1. Chicha Morada - A refreshing Peruvian drink made from purple corn, fruit, cinnamon, and spices with a sweet fruity flavor. (MY FAVORITE) 2. Pulpo a la Plancha - Marinated octopus served with patacones, Peruvian corn, and chimichurri. (FAVORITE) 3. Bisteck A Lo Pobre - Steak with fried egg, fried plantains, sautéed onions, and rice. 4. Al Pastor & Carnitas Tacos 5. Fettuccine a la Huancaína with Lomo Saltado - Creamy huancaína pasta topped with flavorful lomo saltado, parmesan, and plenty of passion. 6. TBD next time Tonylameats Approved

I buy extra when I can because of the minus side... It is almost impossible to get in here! I don't mind queuing up to wait at a restaurant, but every time I try to go they are lined up out the door. I have tried to go at off-times and it's still busy. Being so busy, the experience at the counter always feels rushed and there is nowhere to sit, so I never stick around once I have my bagels. I realize it's a good problem for a restaurant to have, but it still makes me want to go elsewhere. Most times I do. The bagels are a definite 5+ stars. The overall experience is 2 stars at best. Splitting the difference and giving them 3. I keep going back (well, trying to, at least) because the bagels are that good. Your results may vary. If you figure out a decent time to go in, give me a holler and let me know. I'll buy you a bagel!

The fresh bagels are delicious as are the house made cream cheeses. I got a half dozen to take home with everything and oat being faves but the cherry almond and pumpernickel didn't disappoint either. They have a nice serve yourself coffee bar offering all Abita Roasting coffee in all varieties. Creole Bagelry and Cafe also offers a huge selection of bennys, omelettes, Belgian Waffles and breakfast sandwiches , lunch sandwiches, salads and lunch platters. Don't skip the frozen coffees and teas !

After about 15 minutes, I walked to the waitress station and politely asked for a menu; the response was an eye roll with menus "shoved" at me in an aggravated manner. Regardless, I thanked her. Soon, the same young waitresscame over and took our drink orders (waters) nicely, but then she left the back room where we were seated and did not return! Whaa? I never saw her again, so we have it another 15 min and gave up. We looked for our angry waitress as we walked through to leave hoping she, or anyone, might notice we were leaving, but nothing. The restaurant was crowded and diners seemed happy enough so perhaps we simply got the wrong person in the wrong moments. However, since I'm from out-of-state, this is the impression I will forever have of La Pines Cafe.

Guy Fieri ate there so that just solidified my decision! It's a small little place with maybe 8-10 tables. Don't let that discourage you though because the food is amazing! I had the bbq shrimp and grits. New Orleans bbq, not the bbq that you traditionally think of and it was amazing! One of the best shrimp and grits that I've had. My wife had a breakfast scramble bowl with hashbrowns, eggs, bacon and gravy. It was very good also. We also had a side of French toast that was covered in powdered sugar! Everything was amazing and the service was exceptional. Stop in a try this place for breakfast or lunch.
