In my opinion, all road trips deserves a pit stop at local Waffle House. In general, this location was just fine - it was not the best Waffle House, but it was not the worst that I have visited. Upon walking in, I was a bit turned off by the large stack of dirty dishes. I think this probably was due to us stopping by right before a shift change since many of the staff left while we were eating. Also, the counter tops were pretty dirty even though the restaurant was not super busy. Maybe we stopped by right after a large group of folks visited. I have no complaints about the food and service. Everything was served to Waffle House standards (take that how you would like). The prices were on the pricey side (for a Waffle House), but that's probably due to prices going up in general. I was a bit suprised that a breakfast for two with tax and tip was about 40 bucks. But, that's the world we are in nowadays. Be sure to drive a slowly in the parking lot because it was (as of April 2025) full of potholes. read more

The nostalgia of Waffle House from years ago took over me and when I saw the sign on Exit 77A- I just had to take that exit and pull Into the Waffle House parking lot. This waffle house location is small. I walked in and seated myself. I nice lady came over to take my order. I ordered a coffee and the all star special with grits. I received the coffee with no sugar or cream. I had to ask for sugar and cream. The. Coffee was gross and I took one sip And that was it. My breakfast was taking forever and I learned they were short on cooks and they were down on waffle makers and the manager jumped in to help out. Part of my meal came out ( grits, eggs, and toast) warm and not hot at all. Then finally the waffle arrived and I had to request butter and then the bacon came out. Just to be clear, there was about a 5 min delay between each item being dropped off to my table. The manager did not offer to remove anything from bill. I barely ate my food. I come through Maryland every few months. This Waffle House has consistently good food and coffee for breakfast. The waitstaff seem to change fairly frequently but I've only had polite servers. The guy cooking the food does a really nice job. It's pretty quiet when I go so I can say what it's usually like. The bathrooms are hit or miss with cleanliness, but I think it's more down to the customers since I have seen staff clean them. read more

The terrific wait staff and cooks (shout out to Aiden) are so friendly and kind -- what a treat in today's often surly world. One of the worst meals I've ever had. Seriously. It's a large statement but legitimate. I will preface this with saying we ate at 1am. The weight staff was great. Very nice and talkative. The chef was terrible. He cooked the eggs in a pan he reused without even wiping out for every person. Like people were getting chunks of old eggs that were leftover from previous orders. He let my, and my friends, scrambled eggs cook so long he had to scrape them out of the pan. They were hard. Hard He dropped half my bacon on the ground getting it to the plate, so instead of the 3 pieces that were cut up I only received maybe half a piece total. Usually when someone is cooking baked you get good food. This was not the case. The hash browns were barely cooked and cold in the center of each "hash brown" piece. Which I thought was almost impossible lol. Uneatable I took two bites and pushed my plate away. They saw but still charged me. We stopped here for breakfast on our way back to NYC. It was very crowded and the staff were working nonstop fulfilling orders for customers inside and on the phone. Despite the business, the team appeared to have a system going that kept the flow moving well. Shoutout to the workers there that day, because they were moving around nonstop. The location looked old like it could use an upgrade, it appeared grungy looking. We were seated right away and our server, Abby did her best to ensure we had a pleasant stay. She was friendly and apologetic for the delays. We really didn't wait that long, but I did feel bad that the place looked short staffed. Me and my friend ordered the "All Star Special" which included bacon, ham or sausages (all pork-they had no substitutes), eggs, grits or home fries and a waffle. One thing I liked about this place, was you can watch the cook making the food and he was working, working. The food was delicious and hit the spot. First of all I am a fan of the Waffle House. For years I would go and have a meal or two on my way south of Maryland. My best friend said they had one that was not too far from us. They can handle it. I have done this in the pass. Well since it has been a while since I went to the house the menu was different. Now what I wanted was steak and eggs. They did not have that on the menu. I was sad. I waited all night for this and they did not have what I wanted. So I had to move to something else. I selected scrambled eggs with cheese, ham slice, and a cup of hot coffee. The young lady took my order and they started to cook it. It is late morning with the place busy but not too busy. they had about 5 open tables plus 4 counter positions. I selected one. Another man had the slot next to me. The place was clean and the bathroom was clean. All was good. I did not see any fights going on either. All was good Until! I was watching the cooks preparing the meals and my server went by to talk to the cook about an order that was in the process. I notice that she has blond hair. No problem but her hair was down her back and touched her buttocks. Really? Sorry I had a problem with this. Here is why. I have been in food service since high school. That young lady hair was too long. She should have had her hair confined such as a hair net, cap, clipped, pinned, pony tail, etc. My teacher would have a fit if one of her student came to work like that. I have to agree. Although I like her long hair, I don't want it in my food or drink either. I have short black hair, if I find a long blond hair in my food or drink, we will have a problem. Secondly, the long hair server gave me my cup of coffee. She did not add anything to it. I had requested cream and two sugars please. Nope. Not here buddy. To make matters worse, she gave me a cup of hot coffee in a coffee cup but, get this, a clear lid for a cold beverage that has the opening for a straw. Really? No straw was given to me, thank God. Ok I am in my car how am I suppose to enjoy this HOT coffee without getting a second degree burn trying to drink it and avoid having a serious accident. This was a complete fail. All the truckers who come here to get a meal and coffee they would want a coffee lid. What is up? They ran out of coffee lids? I poured out the hot coffee because I did not want to hurt myself. I made it home and the food was good. Eggs were perfect and the ham was also good. Sorry no hair in the food. No photos this time too. Overall. I won't be beck and I am not recommending this location. I suggest you go to the other restaurants located across the parking lot or across the street. read more

On a family road trip, never a bad time for Waffles. Being that there are not any Waffle Houses in my area. I try to visit one when I am traveling. The Waffle House I visited was quiet, fast, efficient and the food was great. It is not a fancy place. However the waffles are great. The cook, and waitress were very nice, and my order was perfect. You may see dirty dishes, and a lot of cleaning stuff laying around. But with only one waitress doing everything, and a cook do not expect anything other than a good food. I am very grateful, and appreciative to my order being perfect after driving all evening on a long road trip. My order consisted of a waffle, which was freshly prepared, butter, and syrup. I did not order coffee, or anything. I did ask for ice for my bottled water but something was not working. No problem for me, I am very easy to please. I had my drink which was more important. I would definitely say give Waffle House a try if your in the mood for a good waffle, that will be prepared fast, to get you back on the highway, and it's better than grabbing a bite from a welcome area wherein the food could be questionable. read more

I have an unreasonable obsession with Waffle House. I have only eaten there once before, and that was 12 years ago. The meal was unremarkable. But, it was with a group of good friends and the memory sticks in my mind. So, when coming home from Baltimore recently I knew I had to stop at one. Ironically, we could look out the window past the closed Burger King to the Denny's just across the parking lot. My wife checked Yelp reviews to see which ones were best. I kept telling her "it is like a Denny's" but that didn't stop her. I guess this one had better reviews. We walked in to find a 15 person line, but some left early (if you can't stand the wait, don't get in line) and some quick turnovers meant we were seated within about 15 minutes. Having read the menu wrong (don't ask me how, it is as simple a menu as you can get) I ordered three things a la carte and my wife got the Big Breakfast which had everything I wanted (and then some) for less than what I paid. Doh! The waffles were spongy but filling. I had mine with pecans which did add crunch but not much extra flavor. The hash browns tasted strongly of onions so I let my wife have them. Either they were cooked on a griddle with onions (it is an option) or they have shaved onion in them. My bacon was extra crispy and just the way I like it. I tried my wife's biscuit and it was thick and stodgy. She didn't like how her fried eggs came out... they weren't cooked all the way. For $20 for two it was a decent, filling breakfast. It won't win awards. It won't get many stars on Yelp. But it fills a niche that is out there. I do wish we had one up north. read more

We walked in and everyone behind the counter (between 8 and 10, not sure since they kept moving around) said hello. Friday morning at 10:30 and we got the only two open spots at the counter. They had some interesting looking things on the menu, but we both went with the biscuits and sausage gray, adding hashbrowns after spying the "Casa de Waffle" salsa in the condiment tray. This is one well-oiled operation. Everyone behind the counter has a job and they seem to do it well. One is making waffles, three guys are at the grill (one on hashbrowns, one on eggs, one on sausage and bacon). Another employee was in charge of the toast. Two taking the orders and one washing dishes. WHEW! We pretty much had our food before I could take in all the scenery. There was a jukebox playing music a bit louder than my usual preference but hey, I was at The Waffle House! When a disc came on that was apparently defective, the young guy managing the door was told to unplug it. Hmmm, after that...I kinda missed it. I actually couldn't finish all my breakfast, it was a lot of food. And cheap! Interestingly enough, when we left, they were still packed. Just had a really nice experience at this Waffle House! We aren't dining in much these days, but we had to stop for food during a long drive home from a hike and Waffle House was one of the few places open. I'm so glad we did. The two people working (Kyra and the cook- I didn't catch his name) greeted us like we were old friends. Both were wearing masks. Everything was spotless and we saw them cleaning throughout our meal. Where do I start. The place was a mess so we sat at the counter. The wait staff was a young girl and guy neither had a clue what they were doing. The girl that waited on us put batter in the griddle and then forgot about it. The guy went to make waffles and found the dark brown hard waffle and pretended to throw it like a frisbee. He then attempted to make three waffles and after several attempts finally was able to plate them and not throw in the trash.
