My first impression was a dispute between a customer and really himself because the guy behind the glass (not bullet proof) didn't speak great English. It was sorta comical but this customer wanted his 2 bucks back for a cup he paid for when you get a cup with the combo. Anyway the situation went on and on all while I was ordering my 3pc chix tender combo. There's no place to sit except for outside onlooking Pulaski Hwy. No thanks but to those tenders,,,,they were BIG, Tender and greasy. The fries were great and the Half/Half tea was sweet but you needed it to cancel out some of that fried oil. The whole combo was dusted with maybe a butter dust that I was told is referred to as crack dust. I don't need to go back anytime soon as my arteries are clogged another 10%. I'll be back though to try the catfish another day. My combo with cup came to $7.41. read more

I had the 3 wing, 3 leg combo, comes with fries and coleslaw and bread. It was not expensive and comes with a lot! I loved the flavor of the chicken and it was juicy, not dry. The seasoning was really good. I did not really care for the fries, they were soggy but could have just been because they were delivered and not eaten there. I was full after two piece of chicken! I stopped here while in the area. The inside is just to place an order or pick up an order because there's no sitting room. There are a couple of seats outside with umbrellas. I ordered the regular size fried shrimp about 14 pieces with French fries, two pieces of white bread and a sample Cole slaw for about $12. It tasted good! Super quick trip to Baltimore! Grabbed a "chicken box" which is nostalgic to me from my college days! Aww! Hip Hop Fish & Chicken - it gave what it was supposed to give! Pulled up on what felt like the hottest day of the summer. Went inside and it's not the most appealing but so what! Lol! I went ahead and ordered. They gave me a buzzer to wait for my food that thankfully worked in my car. Later on I found out that the guys next to me buzzer never went off in their car! Funny but not funny! This is unacceptable. Whoever works there really need to take some time to prep things accordingly in the line of cooking. I understand it's fast food and things should be quick, but ain't no way you can overcook fish and basically have nothing to even nibble on. Mac and cheese has no love to it and taste like it's from a box. Green boiled with no salt or pepper, pretty much the basics of seasoning and didn't even do that. This may be the first restaurant/ take out that will THRIVE at this location. I drive pass this place everyday and I saw the improvements they were making prior to their opening. The wait on the opening was absolutely worth it, the parking lot & the inside has been packed every time Ive driven by so I decided to call to place my order ahead, busy tone, every single time. I get to Hip hop chicken and of course it's busy, I place my order and they told us it'll be ready in 15 minutes, not a bad wait time at all. Finally I get home & get down to business =p Everything was delicious, hot and fresh. This place has recently opened and I have to say, the owners are fantastic. Staff was happy to help and willing to answer my questions. Food was ordered quickly, and brought out just as quickly. The chicken and hush puppies was overcooked and the fish was undercooked. The potato salad was generic and had some random Italian seasoning on the top. Potato salad should not involve Italian seasoning at all, at any time. No celery or onion involved, disappointment. The bread in the box seems like an excuse not to give you more fries. The nuggets are caked in salt almost like the lid fell off the shaker. I know they like to use their salt seasoning generously but this is a joke. Who's going to buy their chicken if they kill everyone giving them high blood pressure? Somehow they found a way to botch cheese sticks too. Never going back to this location again. They get props for the fried fish but that's it. Overcharged me for the meal. Greens tasted straight out of the ground.
