I left a party because I was sent a text message to pick up my prescription. I drove over there to pick up my scription and the pharmacy was closed. If your ever sent a text message on the holiday saying your prescription is ready don't believe it. They should send that message after the holiday. read more

Never had so many problems getting prescription filled.. 3 different ones over 4 days and all had a problem. wrong medication given and orders not ready when promised and always with attitude! Switching back to Walgreens even if it's not in the area! read more

This pharmacy has the worst customer service in the world. The pharmacists are rude, unhelpful, and seem to think that their time should not be spent in customer service. If you have the option of taking your prescriptions elsewhere you should do so. read more

Really wish Yelp would add a negative star when a business falls so short of minimum standards, such as simply being open during the posted "OPEN" hours. I had a critical medication to pick up. Of course I went to pick up a day before I actually ran out, only to have the woman pharmacist slam the metal gate down in front of my face. This was a few minutes BEFORE her lunch hour. I waited in line for two previous customers to pay for their prescriptions. As soon as it was my turn, she slams the gate down so hard, one would think there was a fire. I asked her not to do that to me since I waited so long. Her response was she would get in trouble if she didn't close exactly @ 1PM. I don't think management meant an employee had to do that in the middle of a transaction. But she did. I returned the next day. I called for 30 minutes and not once did someone pick up. I was trying to confirm their closing time. I gave up and went over. I arrived to find lights out and gate locked exactly 10 minutes before the posted sign said they closed. I was more than a bit irritated being the second time in less than 48 hours the pharmacy shut down before the posted time. I went to the Supervisor and he agreed they should not have closed. He paged the pharmacist on the store speaker at least 6 times, without a reply. Then he said he knew where he was. So we both walked back to pharmacy and saw Gary, the pharmacist, coming out of the bathroom with a bag of candy, his coat on, refusing to open the pharmacy. It was still not quite closing time. Gary absolutely refused because he said he set the lock and would be in trouble for re-opening. I told him I needed my medication and it was critical. I didn't have any left. Gary said there was nothing he could do. The Supervisor told him to go get my Rx and he would ring me up. He didn't want to get Gary in trouble, because Gary has had so many complaints filed. He simply cannot do his job. Warning to all who use the pharmacy: Plan to be there 45 minutes before the posted closing hours‼ The pharmacy includes whatever closing duties they have be performed BEFORE they close, according to Gary and those who work that shift with him. Gary figures he needs 30 minutes to get ready to close. So he stops answering the phone and locks the gate. This behavior seems to be sanctioned by the store manager. However I appreciated he did ring up my Rx at the grocery counter. In light of all the recent gun threats inside and outside the store, the homeless stealing merchandise and selling it in the parking lot, this store is a scary place. They're lucky they have any customers. Why do I come here you say? My insurance plan! Wonder if corporate ever checks in???? read more

I have to first say, the people that work here are really friendly. However, can we pick up the pace in filling our prescriptions? My doctor had my prescription entered directly online, so I wouldn't have to stand in line to place my RX, but I still had to wait 20 minutes when it was sent to them 45 minutes prior? They could not have been that busy because there was really no one in there at around 4pm. I guess if I had some grocery shopping to do to kill time then that would be okay, but I knew that they've had my RX for what would now be an hour, knowing this I was hoping to be in and out of there. I like how they've separated the pharmacy from inside the grocery store. So much better this way, more space without shopping carts backing into you. read more

Very disappointed with this pharmacy. Unresponsive and unprofessional. When calling in to check on a prescription, I was continually placed on hold - which eventually transfers to random voicemail not affiliated with the pharmacy. When I finally got through, an employee said they would need to call me back shortly. I never heard back. I have had 5 prescriptions here and there have been issues with 3 of them. I will no longer use this pharmacy. read more

Von's Pharmacy is a winner! Having just moved to Pasadena, the search began for all new service providers (such fun). Von's Pharmacy. I was to find offers the significant value that many claim to have but few deliver. Some of the highlights: 1. Calls are promptly returned and I've not waited more than 2 minutes for any pick up. While this may differ depending on time of day, this has been my experience regardless of the time of day. 2. Extraordinary customer service including personnel always courteous, have an eye toward rapid problem resolution and embody significant healthcare expertise. When calling regarding an antibiotic cream I needed I learned, through conversations with one of the pharmacy techs, that she was an RN and had experience with applying the burn cream I was using. Certainly empathy is preferred but may not be mandatory for this role. In this case I found her exceeding empathetic and sympathetic with my very difficult condition. Such interactions, when providers take the time to participate in them, can create an immediate bond. 3. Proactive customer service. Recently a drug to drug interaction I had spoken to my MD about but not conveyed to the Pharmacist was picked up by an employee. Clearly I would have preferred to get the script immediately, but when the Pharmacy called they explained the delay was the result of their ensuring, with the doctor, that the interaction would not be harmful to me. 4. Prices are in line and perhaps even better than the pharmacy I last worked with. If you have the chance to use a pharmacy, don't pass Go and check in with this Von's! read more

I give the staff a higher rating than the pharmacy which is chronically understaffed. The staff members are helpful and knowligible but the one hour break between 1-2 (or 2-3 I don't remember) is often longer than one hour. read more

I was at an urgent care close by this Von's on a Tuesday evening. I had just gotten in a car accident the day before, and because I didn't have a car I needed a pharmacy that I could walk to in order to pick up a muscle relaxer that I was just prescribed. It was around 745pm and Google said the pharmacy closed at 9pm. However, I knew that due to COVID-19 I should call just to double-check on the hours. When I called and asked, I was abruptly told that they actually close at 8pm. I told him that the doctor at urgent care who had seen me said he could send the prescription over in the next five minutes and that I could walk over there in less than 10 minutes. I didn't even say this in a demanding manner, just more trying to get a feel if the pharmacist or pharmacy tech would be okay with this. The man on the phone very rudely and abruptly said that he didn't know if the doctor would send the prescription over in five minutes and if they would even have the prescription I needed. His tone from the very beginning of the conversation made it very clear he had no interest in speaking with me or helping me out. And then as I was asking the doctor I was with a question, the pharmacist or pharmacy tech just hung up on me. Look, I've worked in customer service before, in coffee shops and restaurants. I know the feeling of wanting to get the fuck off work when it's time to go, and hating those customers who come in five minutes before closing. However, I feel like when you work in the medical industry you should have a little more patience and compassion for people. I had just gotten in my first ever car accident the night before, was still in shock, and needed my prescription so that I could sleep that night. I didn't expect this gentlemen to stay open past 8pm for me. I don't think I'm that special. But maybe he could have recommended a pharmacy close by that he knew was open later? He could have been kinder. I don't feel like that's crazy to expect from someone who works at a pharmacy. read more

My wife and I were evacuated by the reinvent fires we found ourselves in Pasadena and we both forgot medications. We called this Pasadena Von's Pharmacy and spoke to Vanessa. We explained our predicament and she took over. Von advances my meds for 5 days and Vanessa found my Wife's doctor who had been evacuated as well, got my wife's Rx renewed. But Vons was out of the med so she fax the Rx to a competitor nearby and we got the prescription and the insurance even covered the cost. Vanessa we above the call for service, she exceeded our expectations and treated us with patience and kindness. The whole experience was a silver lining in a very dark cloud! read more

This is the nicest group of pharmacists. Here is why: Me employer switched health insurance companies and all of a sudden medication I take for a chronic condition that was covered is no longer covered. I'm told it will start costing me $700 a month unless I go generic (which I've tried and it wasn't effective for me). Needless to say I'm very concerned at this point. The prescribing doctor starts the process to fight the decision. (But as you know there is no winning with the insurance companies in the long term.) Anyway, long story short, the pharmacist called me personally and suggested an alternative medication that is still covered. I called the doctor and she said it's a great suggestion and we tried it and it worked perfectly for me. They didn't have to do that. It was beyond nice of them though and I'm grateful. read more

I have been a Von's customer for 19 years on California Blvd. However, about a year ago, one of the pharmacy staff members used my prescription information and called me at HOME to complain to me personally that I did not respect her since she is a minority. She went on and on and I told her clearly that I respect everyone. I told her that I just came in to pick up my prescription. I believe if she had the nerve to call me at home with confidential info I gave at the pharmacy including my phone number, address, etc., she probably does this to other Von's customers on California across from Huntington Hospital. Very pleased with service at this Von's Pharmacy, especially for flu shots. This is our second year to get flu shots at this Von's and once again the service was fantastic. The pharmacy tech was friendly and welcoming, as was the pharmacist. We got our shots with no wait (mid-morning). The area where the shots are given is very clean, comfortable, and private, unlike two other Pasadena pharmacies where we have gotten shots in the past. In addition, twice in the last six months have had to get a prescription filled late in the evening and quickly and the service here has been excellent. read more
