When the ownership of Best Buy Drugs changed hands a few years ago, becoming PAX 2 Pharmacy, Sierra Madre faced a real problem. It's a small town and set in our ways. The community is admirably resistant to chain stores (the one survivor can be found dispensing charred, overpriced coffee worldwide), and if PAX had not decided to move here we may instead have had one of the indistinguishable chain drug outlets. Instead we now have a splendid example of a superior, locally-owned business that is both professionally top-notch (I'm a geezer; I know what I'm talking about) and exquisitely attentive to its clientele. The pharmacist/owner, Bella, has a comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy, naturally, but is attuned to her customers. She has retained the staff who have been here for years, and brought in some outstanding people as needed. In short, even if I lived in Pasadena, I would still trek to Sierra Madre in order to get the sort of personal attention you receive here. read more

I'm not typically a person that posts reviews and would not like to flame a business for one bad experience, but the pharmacist and some of their employees are so rude and unhelpful (Joyce excluded, she is lovely). There have been mistakes made over the years and I've looked the other way, but the last one was the final straw. No accountability and rude on top of it. It's a shame. It's a great location and such a cute blast from the past. I'm someone who supports small businesses but we'll be going to CVS on Foothill now. They are actually very nice over there. read more

Great place, very fast service, high quality medications. I recommend them 1000% Iover CVS, Walgreens, Walmart etc.

The BEST pharmacy around. They have what others don't. Their service is helpful and courteous. We are changing our prescriptions to be sent here instead of the big chain pharmacies. They care! read more

Loved the old one, but this one is just fine. Same excellent service and friendly staff. Will continue to trust them with my prescriptions. read more

This pharmacy changed owners and the lady who used to give me the stink-eye no longer works there. This has made all the difference! I no longer feel like I'm being sized up as some kind of thief or addict. The people running the pharmacy are pleasant and helpful. Good vibes all around. The store itself is virtually identical to its previous incarnation. If it isn't broke, why fix it? Anyway, with one key staffing change this pharmacy is now great to go to. Happy to support a local business. read more

Truly terrible pharmacy and owner. Was a customer for years at Best Buy and was very well cared for by Paul and his wonderful staff. Since this outfit took over the business has gone downhill. Bella, the owner, is the rudest and most irresponsible pharmacist I have ever encountered. Hopefully this pharmacy will change hands soon and go back to providing compassionate and quality care...you will not get good care here. read more

My family has used several pharmacies over the years, and this one stands out as the best! We went to another pharmacy to fill my mom's medication, but there was a small mix up with the prescription and they couldn't help. Since we were nearby, we decided to visit PAX, and the pharmacist Bella was incredibly helpful. She went the extra mile and reached out to my provider to ensure that our prescription was accurate and complete. We are truly grateful for her patience and compassionate customer service! Definitely will be returning! read more

Had a great experience at PAX. They had everything I needed and service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be back!

I know the transition from Best Buy Drugs to Pax Pharmacy wasn't as smooth as it could be, but I think overall, Bella and the team at Pax Pharmacy (Sierra Madre) have done a great job. I've been a long time Best Buy Drugs customer (15+ years) and was sad to learn about Paul (previous owner), but have been very happy with the great service that Bella (new owner) has provided. read more

Pax Pharmacy has been great! They have gone above and beyond when it comes to filling out prescriptions. Bella and the staff are amazing!

My partner and I stopped by to pick up some medications and had a terrible experience. Worst pharmacy we have ever been to, very unprofessional and took forever to get our medications. read more

Still a great pharmacy, just wanted to give 5 stars. Bella, Joyce and the group still good

It took me several years after moving to Sierra Madre from Pasadena to switch because my old pharmacy was close enough. When I finally did make the move, I was so pleased at the personal, friendly care I received from Paul and his staff. I was beyond ecstatic to walk in one day and find Joyce, from my old pharmacy and the person I missed the most! Since Bella has taken over ownership nothing has changed with regard to attention, care and compassion! Thank you Bella, Joyce and all the staff for keeping the "family" feeling in our small town pharmacy! read more

Great people, friendly and very professional in all they do. Joy has been there for years and my favorite.

I travel quite a distance to specifically to use this pharmacy. Isabella goes the extra mile for her clients and I am so grateful to her. I have a medication that can be difficult to find and she is always able to assist me. The morals and values of her and her staff are bar none. I've seen her open the store for a person whose family was in crisis, just so the woman could purchase a gift for her family member. She and her staff are exceptional and I'm grateful for them every day. read more
