Very large CVS, located in the Hastings Ranch Plaza, deep within the SGV. My wife having a new CVS digital coupon is usually the impetus to walk into a CVS if we see one on a trip (with the large number of CVS's in SoCal, this happens a lot). So that's what happened on our trip to Pasadena, and it ended up being worthwhile. The inside is well organized, with clear, large sign near the ceiling explaining where everything is. LIke most big retailers, CVS sells their house brand products right next to the name brand item, often at quite a discount. We saw that Krill Oil pills were on sale (buy one, get one for $1), so bought two, expecting another CVS house brand coupon to apply. This usually happens very easily via self-checkout, but this time, we had difficulties. So ended up being 'those customers' that hold up the checkout line for minutes while trying to apply a coupon. But the manager and her staff helped us, even though it ended up being our fault. It was really appreciated. read more

I was shopping at the store, and two employees on july 30th around 9pm were following me through the store as if i was about to steal. I had forgotten my phone in my car which was in the second lot space about 15 feet from the door, and both employees had followed me because i saw them thru the glass reflection. When i had got back in, the male employee once again followed me through the ales and when i made eye contact, he asked if everything was fine trying to hide the fact he was following me. Came into CVS on May 15th to pick up and item because a different CVS did not happen to have it. I came in and Carlos was there. There was only two tide pod boxes available but I needed more than that. I asked him if there were more tide pod boxes. He said there weren't many to begin with and did not really help me. I then said I was going to go to a different store to pick up more. He had the audacity to say "you're wasting my time". The attitude that Carlos had was very disgusting because I asked nicely and he turned around and treated me like I was a bad customer. One of the less popular CVS near the Arcadia/Greater San Gabriel region, this store unfortunately does not carry a lot in terms of amenities such as an active or dutiful pharmacy or stocks of perishable goods as other CVS stores in the vicinity. However, it is reliable for quick over the counter medications which may be otherwise unavailable at your common grocery retailers. Still worth the visit if needing said goods, but just not as complete as other comparable storefronts with the namesake! read more

For me, having the AI bot answer the phone all the time is really annoying, although she sounds very human like she can do very little. I feel like I'm going around in circles trying to get my prescription filled.. On the flip side, this is one of their better CVS stores that are always fully stocked. And have staff waiting to help. Dear CVS Customer Relations, This happens at Pasadena store at foothill blvd next to the freeway 210 on Monday night around 945 pm I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred at one of your CVS Pharmacy locations involving an associate named Stephanie. After completing my purchase using the self-checkout, I briefly remained in the store to look at additional items. I then exited the store while on a phone call. At that point, Stephanie followed me outside and publicly accused me of not paying for my products. This was both embarrassing and distressing, especially as it happened in front of others. I immediately informed her that I had already paid and offered my receipt. She reviewed it and confirmed that my purchase was valid. However, she did not apologize. Instead, she stated that she was "very busy" and did not see me paying. While I understand that the store may have been busy, being falsely accused and approached outside the store in a public manner is not acceptable. Additionally, during the interaction, she mentioned that she speaks Spanish, even though I had not requested assistance in Spanish. This comment felt unnecessary and made me uncomfortable, as it seemed based on an assumption. As a paying customer and an ExtraCare member who pays an annual subscription, I expect to be treated with professionalism and respect. Instead, I was wrongly accused and publicly embarrassed without any acknowledgment or apology. So I found out this CVS Pharmacy is conveniently located in the first plaza from Hastings Ranch, Pasadena, CA. I had to return a bottle of vitamins I didn't need but bought thinking I was gonna try the brand, 'Nature's Bounty.' I thought I was gonna have to wait in a block of a line at first like the West Covina branch, but either the manager or the cashier was very observant, she immediately helped me out right away, and there was zero wait time. Horrible. I purchased a laundry product a couple months ago and returned it the next day for a refund since I found it cheaper somewhere else. The lady behind the counter "processed" the refund and the return. No biggies. Well, she never did. I contacted my bank for a refund and they processed it...only for CVS to claim two months later I never returned said merchandise. Since it's been two months, I no longer had the receipt so I couldn't claim they were wrong. I think it's funny they would claim that when they supposedly have cameras everywhere watching people so I'm sure if I pushed the issue, I would've had them run the footage. This store is so poorly run. The pharmacy is great, but the main store lacks order, inventory and overall cleanliness. A lot of shelves are empty, turned upside down. The pharmacist at this location is really rude and needs to learn people skills. She walked away from people when they're asking her questions pertaining to vaccination and appointment scheduling. A customer in line said, "maybe she's on her period, she's so moody." Basically, everyone in line laughed and agreed. It's really important for a pharmacist to listen to a person's medication concerns, as their life depends on this medication. This is a fantastic CVS. There are always plenty of carts and baskets available. Thee shelves are neat and the store is organized. They display current food and vitamin trends (such as keto, high protein, etc) on the left side of the store, upon walking in. The staff is helpful and usually friendly. There are lots of gift card options. The reason for 4 starts and not 5 is because sometimes there is a wait to ring up your items. If you're interested in a 2 star pharmacy, look no further. After using this pharmacy and shopping here multiple times, it is clear that they don't really care about taking care of the patients. More often than not they have been rude and unhelpful. The tipping point for me was when I called in about status of my prescription refill. The lady was extremely rude, said she didn't know when they would have it in stock and refused to check other pharmacies to see if they have it in stock. I proceeded to ask her if they might have a similar medication in stock that I can request since I really needed the prescription and she hung up on me. Zero interest in doing her job and assisting a patient. This is the level of care and standard CVS has. There is 1 or 2 pharmacists that provide much better service, but the vast majority of the rest have been terrible. Clearly a leadership issue at this branch and above. Why come here hoping for the 1 or 2 people that actually try to assist you when there are better pharmacies available? Look elsewhere for a more dependable pharmacy. read more

Once again Corporate America makes things things less convenient for the consumer. The pharmacist handing your prescription is no longer allowed to answer questions. After standing in line to get the prescription, you are to stand in another line to ask a question! This place is a pharmacy what can I say. I wish my out of pocket was less and that they goer my refills to be picked up around the same time. This review is for a flu shot. Pros: 1. Very convenient location. 2. Didn't need an appt - just walked in and only had to wait about 10-15 mins (two people in front of me). 3. With my insurance, my flu shot was free. 4. Not much paperwork (less than what Costco makes you fill out for a flu shot). 5. Process was easy and the staff was friendly. Cons: 1. Quite possibly the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. Does nothing to help the customer. The pharmacy tech there rolls her eyes at every question you ask. She would not allow me to speak to the pharmacist after multiple attempts to talk to them. "She's going to tell you the same thing I'm saying." Is her response when I asked. I asked once more and was ignored. On top of this, They did not call the company behind my medication with a coupon issue and kept telling me I needed to call even though on the coupon it says the pharmacy needs to call with any questions. I just did a drive up COVID Test. I was nervous at first, but the pharmacy technician Nicole explained the whole process to me. It was very easy, except for the discomfort that comes with sticking the swab up the nose; I was in and out within 15 minutes. Still waiting on my results but from what I have heard they take about 24-48 hours. I love CVS and MinuteClinic and will definitely return for other services. read more
