This is by far the BEST pharmacy EVER. This is a PERSONAL HUMAN pharmacy. A few examples - *my mom had a key stoke medication, and they called the DR to double check the dosage as it looked off. *they called me to confirm dosages for my dad as dosages had changed from one dr to another * they made sure that when I picked up my meds - to tell me how I should take it It's the personal touch. They know you by name! If you need multiple meds and dosages - or handling for your family - these folks that are part of your medical team. read more

Coming back to modify my review; I still think that this pharmacy can be great. But it's clearly unpredictable and entirely based on who you speak with/deal with. I called earlier to ask a few questions about having a prescription filled, because the medication that I take for my narcolepsy has been out of stock everywhere and I'm just trying to find somewhere that can fill the prescription so I can do things like drive without falling asleep, and keep my job etc. The woman who answered the phone told me they were out of stock for the generic, as predicted. I asked if they were able to get the branded version, to which she replied "we don't have any. What part of 'we don't have any' don't you understand?" I truly wasn't being rude in any way, I realize it sounds like I must have said something to set her off, but I can assure you, as someone who has worked in customer service, I'm extremely polite. I think the questions themselves must have been annoying because I'm sure she's being asked these questions constantly right now in the midst of this shortage. She then told me that they don't even carry the drug I was calling about, even though as recently as a few weeks ago, they did. I realize everyone has bad days. But this was completely unnecessary. read more

I've been having a horrible last few weeks and have had to pick up prescriptions from Fairmont Pharmacy twice during my health ordeal. Sal and Maria are absolutely incredible! They are always so professional, friendly and kind. Maria could tell I was having a bad day as I paid for my meds with tears rolling down my face. She actually came over and gave me a hug. This is my go-to pharmacy for 99 percent of my medicinal needs. Everyone is so on top of everything, courteous, and up front about everything. Since this is a small pharmacy, if you're taking a medicine that is not easily available, and would cost them too much money, you probably will have to fill that prescription at a larger, chain pharmacy that has some bargaining power in regards to pharmaceutical prices; I do that for one of my medicines, and it's not really a problem. I don't blame them, because that's the system they're working under. I don't hate the player, I hate the game. They have a nice card selection, and a small store with lotions, homeopathic remedies, and other health and wellness sundries. This is my grandmothers pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is always very friendly and helpful. There is hardly ever a wait when I go in to pick up her medications. Staff is very fast. Parking is not the best due to neighboring businesses (ex: Huntington Hospital, Labcorp etc). They do sell other stuff here like beverages (juice/soda/water) as well as snacks like lunchables. It is a smaller pharmacy (not a big chain like Rite Aid or CVS) so you truly get to know the workers overtime. They go above and beyond for their clients. It is extremely easy to call over the phone to refill a prescription and it is even easier to pick up. I am literally in and out within 5-7 minutes. Did you know they can even compound medications for pets?! As well as a local delivery option. read more

Located just a couple blocks from the super busy CVS...this little hidden gem is a boutique pharmacy that is A-Mazing. They stock things that many big chain stores don't and I they don't have what you need they'll get it quickly....they are super fast and beyond friendly. Give this Mom and Pop shop a try. This is hands down the best pharmacy I have ever worked with. They go above and beyond to deliver outstanding service. Aside from sourcing difficult-to-obtain medication, today they stayed a few minutes after closing to provide me a prescription because my car battery had died and I had to use an Uber. I would totally have understood if they couldn't have accommodated me--it was not their fault that I was late. This pharmacy is so nice. They're across the street from my doctor and I was without a car and feeling lousy one day, and decided to have my Rx filled here instead of getting a ride to CVS. What a difference! I've had prescriptions filled at the same CVS for 10 years and every single time they treat me like I'm trying to run a hustle to get that sweet amoxicillin. These folks were SO nice and filled my prescription quickly while I browsed their nice selection of greeting cards and gifts. You can see they are Independently owned by the outstanding personal customer service they provide and seeing the same friendly and courteous faces to help me with all my prescription needs. Going to Walgreens or CVS or my local supermarket don't fit the bill in terms of service as well as finding me the best options when considering my insurance coverage. Los Angeles really takes the cake for bullying, infantile, self-justifying incompetency and stupidity, and venom. It's pandemic... like a Rod Serling nightmare world, where no one has any accountability, and instead, they attack people they've slighted. Case in point: the pharmacist, here, who became only the second idiot in 30 years of my taking a seizure medicine, to interfere with it, in his case, refusing to fill it, because he erroneously thought he needed it specified Delayed Release, Sustained Release or regular, immediate release, when THE PRESCRIPTION CALLED FOR THE LATTER. CLEARLY. When I asked him why he interfered with my fill and my neurologist's office, by calling them, he started to laugh it off, because he HAD NO GOOD ANSWER, SAYING HE WAS JUST BEING THOROUGH, AND YELLED AT ME, LIKE I WAS AN ANIMAL, ABOUT RESPECTING HIM, at the same time. And he had no idea about decent, American customer service practices, either. read more

This has been my pharmacy for the past 29 years. This family owned pharmacy has a friendly staff that is knowledgeable, helpful, and very fast in filling my prescriptions while I wait. I have noticed that they greet most patients by their first name when they enter the pharmacy. They usually have whatever medication I am prescribed; and if they don't have it that day, they will certainly have the next day. Their service is above and beyond any chain drug store. I would give 0 stars if I could. I went to fairmount pharmacy for a new compounded rx that is not covered by insurance. The pharmacist and techs were more than pleasant reconfirming my delight with small business. I was charged $143 for a 1 month supply. I resigned myself to the fact that I would now be spending a small fortune every month but worth it. Luckily for me I was getting ready to go out of town and needed to find another small pharmacy closer to home for my 2nd months supply. I was shocked to find when calling around the exact same compounded medication was between $30-57. Logically I figured I was charged $143 in error. Today I walked over and spoke with the pharmacist Orlando to inquire. I was flatly told that that is his price and has always been and he proceeded to tell me to go pay the lower price. Wow I was floored the ever so pleasant Orlando was now very smug. I'm a bit sad for those on set incomes such as the elderly because odds are they are also being taken to the cleaners. Orlando, Maria and the rest of the staff are rock stars when it comes to customer service and quality assurance. I have a chronic illness that brings me to the pharmacy at least once a month, and I'm always greeted with a smile. You'll never get that service at a chain pharmacy. I've been a customer of theirs for many years, and I've changed jobs during that time. I tried a different pharmacy initially, close to work, but there was just no comparison. For quality, friendliness and speed of service, there is no place like Fairmont. I would give them a ten if it were possible. I can't say enough good things about them. I cannot recommend a pharmacist who, instead of checking to see if my medication was in stock so I wouldn't have to drive over for no reason, proceeds to loudly lecture me on how I must be having problems finding it because they checked my patient history --i.e., I was over-using it and 'refused' on this basis! Once he launched into his speech, he didn't allow me to say anything or interrupt, it was blah blah blah about the check system and therefore the lack of availability was my fault -- never mind that none of the other pharmacies even knew my name or had looked at my prescription, they simply didn't have it on the shelves. But in his haste to judge he kept going on and on about how infallible the system was, how that proved it was my problem -- never mind that this info was totally irrelevant. He was still loudly lecturing me on the system when I finally gave up and hung up. I get that some patients may have issues, but this is neither here nor there when someone calls to merely see if their meds are in stock. To this pharmacist, I was a criminal and he was the cop, protecting society! His manner was so off-putting -- let's call it what it was, shockingly rude and unprofessional -- any number of otherwise glowing recommendations here can't overcome this fellow's lack of courtesy and attitude. (If you're coming here for Motrin or antibiotics, I'm sure he's nice as pie. But I won't be giving this pharmacy any business.) read more

I would give this pharmacy 10 stars if I could. First of all it's like the old sitcom Cheers you walk in and everyone knows your name is like family to me. Over the past 8 years I've had a few health issues and I needed medication they remind me when my medications do when ever I go up there it's ready and they have plenty of handicap parking up front. Fantastic folks. Very knowledgeable, caring, quick, and extremely attentive to detail. Since I happened to walk into their pharmacy some eight years ago, they have always been my go-to guys with all my prescriptions. They work extremely well with my doctor and his staff. When I need to extend a prescription, they contact my doctor for me, and that saves a lot of time. They work fabulously with my insurance.
