Tons of people have visited it over the generations, and it's one of the landmark history spots of Los Angeles, and is a must-see stop if you are a Route 66 history fan. Parking in the area can be a bit difficult; however, it's not hard to find metered street parking in front or the paid parking lot across the street. Inside is really cool and preserved as if it is in the 1950s. In the back, they have a fully functional and working pharmacy, and in the front is a merchandise area, a little bodega, and a full service soda bar and milkshake station. The attendant behind the counter was extremely polite, and I tried a Cherry Soda, which I thought was great, and I wanted to get a banana milkshake; however, they were out, so I chose Funfetti Milkshake and enjoyed it very much. It was a great sweet treat on a warm day, and I would highly suggest to anyone to stop in for the history alone. It's also well known in many movies and TV shows, so if you are a filming location fan, it's also a must visit. I would highly recommend and will be back again in the future.

I called with reasonable questions about a compounded prescription, specifically why such a large quantity of cream was being prescribed for a procedure that requires very little product. Rather than explaining the quantity or addressing my concerns, the pharmacist, Ava, became incredibly rude and dismissive. She told me I was taking up too much of her time simply by asking questions and that she needed to hang up on me. She then abruptly ended the call without even clarifying whether my prescription would be filled. I had to call back just to determine whether they intended to process it. As a patient, I should be able to ask basic questions about a prescription, particularly one that is being specially compounded, without being made to feel like an inconvenience. What makes this especially disappointing is that Fair Oaks Pharmacy presents itself as a longstanding neighborhood institution. I would expect a pharmacist to demonstrate professionalism, patience, and a willingness to answer legitimate questions about medication. Being yelled at, dismissed, and hung up on by a pharmacist is completely unacceptable. I have never experienced such disrespectful treatment from a pharmacy. I would strongly caution anyone considering this pharmacy, particularly for compounded prescriptions where clear communication and patient trust are essential.

Even after I went and sat down to speak directly with the original pharmacist to sort out the issue, Gaby continued trying to shout things or talk over to me across the room. The pharmacist's excellent customer service AFTER HER was completely overshadowed by Gaby's unprofessionalism and total lack of discretion. I hope management addresses her behavior. Many of these functioned as mini-department stores, having a wide selection of goods to meet the needs of the community: cookware, clothing, and gifts, just to name a few categories. Webster's Pharmacy seems to be one of these almost extinct businesses that has miraculously survived in Altadena since 1926. I was on my way to Bulgarinia Gelato when I noticed the cool retro signage of Webster's and decided to pop in to check it out. There's a large, free parking lot in the back, as well as street parking in the front. I was pleasantly suprised to find not only a fully stocked pharmacy but an absolutely adorable gift shop featuring BOOKS and other gifts. This includes a section devoted to ANTHONY BOURDAIN (a hero to many Yelpers, despite his utter disdain for Elite Yelpers, may he RIP). There are holiday candies, slippers, Christmas tree ornaments and pretty much something for everyone (there was even a section for folks that like to use "colorful metaphors", as Spock would say.) I'm not sure if the gifts are stocked year round but if you need something last minute for the holidays, Webster's can certainly help. Most items are full price but occasional discounts apply. Long live Webster's!
