I have been to quite a feel pharmacies, Walgreens, Rite Aid and CVS. Since Walgreens closed a few of their locations it became hectic. I would get messages saying my prescription was ready, I'd go wait 40 min only to be told it wasn't ready. I had similar experiences at the others. But when I came to Pax Pharmacy; unbelievable!!! The customer service was incredible, I felt like I was a royal. They were on top oF everything. They are quick, organized friendly and caring. They get all pertinent info from your Dr, they call your insurance AND they try and find you coupons for your other meds from the drug companies themselves! I didn't have to worry and wonder if I was paying too much if they had the correct info or worry about it being ready on time BEST PART EVER THEY DELIVER FOR FREE !!!! My husband once came 10 min before closing and they stayed open and helped him so fast, No other pharmacy has ever done that. I was so appreciative bcz it was an emergency from something bad that happened. I am so in Love with this Pharmacy I'm making it my mad mission to tell everyone and anyone to come to this pharmacy. Came here for my COVID vaccine. I found them through the LA County vaccine finder website. I had been on the waiting list and the pharmacist actually called me to tell me that there was an available appointment. I arrived on time for my shot, and they had a smooth and efficient set up. In and out in about 20 minutes with the mandatory 15 minute wait. I got the J&J vaccine - one and done, but i believe they offered Moderna and Pfizer as well. The nurse giving the shot was an absolute pro - I didn't feel a thing! And, to top it off they gave us a little bag of swag - a pen, a magnet and a beer cozy so to use with our celebrative cocktail. This is by far the best pharmacy I've visited in Southern California. The staff are not only knowledgeable, but they are extremely friendly. Ownership is always present and involved with their patients, and you always feel like you are a VIP when you walk through the door. Five days ago, I made an appointment to get my first dose of the Moderna vaccine at PAX Pharmacy. I was sent a confirmation email, along with a pre-vaccination checklist. Two days ago, I received a call from the pharmacy, telling me that my appointment was going to be cancelled due to the Johnson and Johnson vaccine recall. I replied that I was getting the Moderna vaccine. The caller confirmed that I was getting the Moderna vaccine, and apologized for calling. After the call, I received a text message confirming my appointment to get the Moderna vaccine. Yesterday, I received an appointment reminder via email that confirmed that I was getting the Moderna vaccine. *Today*, I went down to PAX Pharmacy to get my vaccine dose. I said I had an appointment to get the Moderna vaccine. They seemed confused at first, as they were unable to locate my information. After some commotion, the owner proceeded to tell me that I had signed up to get the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, and that it wasn't available. I assured him that I had signed up to get the Moderna vaccine and showed him my text message confirmation that said I was getting the Moderna vaccine, and he told me that I had filled out the online form wrong and that *his* records showed me getting the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, after which he told me that he didn't have any vaccine doses for me today. It's enough that PAX Pharmacy wasted my time, but the owner doubled down and attempted to gaslight me into thinking that *I* messed up and had somehow signed up to get the Johnson and Johnson vaccine instead of taking responsibility for the issue. I'm attaching a screenshot of the text message I received from the pharmacy. Edit: Mike, the owner of Pax Pharmacy replied below. Here's my reply to his reply: First off, Mike's account of what happened fails to address his responsibility in self-assuredly telling me that *I* had filled out the online form wrong. His tone suggested that he was 100% sure that this was an issue with me, and not with his software, even *after* I told him that I work as a software engineer and that software is potentially at fault. Mike was pompously *adamant* that this was my fault. Second, Mike didn't apologize. Mike is attempting to change the narrative to leave himself blameless, which suggests narcissism. I'm absolutely sure that I'm not the first person that Mike has attempted to gaslight and manipulate, and I certainly won't be the last. Third, you're damn right I levied curse words at Mike. Mike attempted to manipulate me by gaslighting me into thinking that *I* was somehow responsible for the error. Manipulation in that manner is *never* justified. Mike's comment is attempting to put the focus on *my* language instead of *his* manipulation and gaslighting so that he can take the onus off of his manipulative conduct. Mike's behavior was completely uncalled for. The fact that Mike so nonchalantly attempted to gaslight and manipulate me should be a red flag to anyone that might consider doing business with Pax Pharmacy. read more

This pharmacy is simply amazing. It's family operated and Mike and staff treat you as family and not a number to sit and wait for an hour. Every patient at the time of discharge (City of Hope) with prescriptions in hand received their medicine via PAX PHARMACY. As an outpatient according to your location they deliver free of charge, truly a fantastic service. For faster service avoid Monday's they have to fill the weekends prescriptions plus those coming in, but, they will fulfill it but let them catch up and come Tuesday onward and you'll zip in and zip out. This is one of the most unprofessional and disorganized pharmacies I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. My prescription was transferred to them without notice from my primary pharmacy, and upon contacting them, was told to have my doctor send my prescription to them directly and they would give me a call to let me know when it was received and ready for pickup. After two days of no contact, I followed up with them directly and was put on hold for 10 minutes while they tried to find my prescription to no avail. They then asked me to contact my doctor to have it resent, which was done shortly thereafter. I again had to follow up with the Pharmacy and spoke to Isabella directly, who told me she was the owner. She explained that they were closing for the day and to come in to pick up the medication the following day between 12 and 2. Upon arrival I was told they could not find my prescription. After about 15 minutes of frantically looking, they told me they would not fill my order because they wanted to speak with my doctor to confirm she indeed prescribed me the medication and to pick the prescription up on Monday. After calling back Monday, Isabella then informed me that they were not licensed to sell that type of medication and they had transferred my prescription to a different pharmacy. I was then put on hold for 5 minutes, until I was then told, "actually we cant transfer prescriptions, and we are not liscenced to sell your medication so find a different pharmacy". I spoke with Mike and Isabella Dather, the supposed owners who were rude and frankly hostile at every point of this inconvenience. It seems like they are a newer company who are having trouble getting their ducks in a row and would advise everyone steer clear, as their prices are more expensive, they do not communicate with their customers, and are extremely rude. Would give 0 out of 5 stars if possible. Despicable. read more

I've been to my share of pharmacies such as Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens and even Target or Costco, most of the time due to convenience. This is the ONLY Pharmacy I've ever been to where I'm greeted by name. As impersonal as other (chain) pharmacies pharmacies are, PAX is a breath of fresh air. I don't ever recall being told to come back because they were out of a certain medication. My son was diagnosed with cancer and sent to City of Hope just over two years ago, and Mike and his staff have been an unexpected source of support during those times when I felt overwhelmed by everything going on. It bewilders me to see the kind of reviews below because my experience with Pax Pharmacy has been anything but exceptional. My boyfriend and I have been picking up prescriptions after leaving COH for the pat 2 years. We've always been treated with kindness, respect and promptness. I can tell you this that Mike has always gone above and beyond along with the rest of his team their at Pax. My boyfriend and I live in Long Beach and it's sometimes difficult to drive out to Duarte just to pick up 1 refill. Without asking, Mike has always mailed out the prescriptions to him and I to save us an hour drive. If that's not service than I don't know what is people. In the past 10 years all my experiences at numerous pharmacies like CVS, Target, Costco, Walgreens, Rite Aid have been so awful I sometimes hold off on having to get antibiotics because I'd rather fight trough an infection than deal with the lack of customer service all of the above places listed. If you like rude, unhelpful service enjoy CVS and all the other pharmacies you have to choose from. But Pax Pharmacy will always have our business, the drive is worth it. read more

This is hands down THE BEST pharmacy I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Mike and everyone who works there have gone above and beyond for over two years to make sure I get the medication I need. My first time dealing with them Mike (owner) personally delivered my medication. Most people would have just dropped off my meds and left but mike sat with me and talked with me sincerely and asked how I was doing. I could tell he was being genuine in wanting to know about me and my condition. Ever since then I have always given them my business. I have dealt with all the major pharmacys like cvs, Rite Aid and walgreens and have always had horrible service or they Dont stock any of the meds I need. I can honestly say I have had nothing but amazing service from PAX and if they Dont have my meds (which has only happened once) they get it immediatly. Whenever I can't pick up my meds they mail it to me and I promptly receive it the next day. Received a past due notice when I never received a bill prior from them. Called to confirm insurance was billed because the statement they mailed me was not itemized and it was like pulling teeth to get the information needed to match the bill to my EOBs from insurance. Spoke to multiple people there and all parties were rude on the phone. I will NEVER use this pharmacy again and will definitely let my friends going through COH know the same. Not worth the hassle and definitely no need to be rude to a customer when I am actively trying to pay my bill. read more
