COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. The staff do not wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open for customers to do their shopping at limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. While I was buying some toiletries from this establishment today, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: There are plenty of parking available for you to choose from. There were lots of parking available even during prepandemic times. Now during the pandemic, there are even more parking spots available. The spaces are pretty wide and decently sized. Parking is not an issue here. Store: This Rite Aid is very clean, tidy, and neat. All items are displayed in a way that makes sense. They are very well stocked in a lot of items. This Rite Aid is located behind Whole Foods, so if you want to check out Rite Aids from the other side of the lot, you have to walk down this dimly lit pathway. Took the kids for ice cream. The ice cream guy was super annoyed about everything. We were respectful and answered promptly when asked about our flavor choices. He was extremely rude to me which I can handle. When he was rude to my kids, I had to take a considerable amount of time to talk them about how they felt after the interaction. She tells her staff one thing and a different day another thing, so her staff keeps changing their approach. This is why things are always inconsistent in this pharmacy. This is specifically for the Thrifty ice cream. I never had this as a kid because I was too poor so there is no nostalgia here for me - I only had this for the first time recently and thought it was really good. Here's the low down of why I like it: 1. It tastes good. It's not the fanciest, trendy concept, but it's just nice. I really like the medieval madness flavor (mainly vanilla with some chocolate flakes and some other stuff), and the coconut pineapple is quite nice - not too tart or sweet. 2. Decent price. $1.99 for a single, $2.69 for a double, or go all out and get the colossal triple on a waffle cone for $4.49. So many new places try to be so flashy but then charge $4-5 for a single scoop; I do prefer this homely setting where it's not too expensive and you don't feel as guilty when you just want a little bit of dessert. 3. Not as many calories as you might think. Only 140 or 150 calories per scoop. 4. No lines, although you need to wait for the main cashier to come over. 5. Bonus points because they have a funny cylindrical ice cream scoop. It makes the scoop look like a giant marshmallow. read more

This is a nice big store with friendly service. And if the line gets long another cashier leaps in. It is always easy to park near the door. Like all Rite Aids this place has the standard selection of )ust about everything you need to survive. There is a pharmacy with a pharmacist, and a large vitamin and over the counter medication area. Also they have a very good stationary and school suppy section (much larger than most Rite Aids). There are two reasons why I like this Rite Aid. First, it had a number of brands of liquid vitamins and minerals, including Calcium with D, Multi Vites, and other liquids. It also carries my favorite Iron, which is hard to get unless there is a big selection, and here there is. And there are often two for one specials on Co Enzyme Q 10. The other thing I like is that they always have specials on beer, cider, and other alcoholic beverages which can be as low here as two thirds the price for the same thing at a liquor store and half the price as at a convenience store. I never thought of buying beer for a party at the pharmacy, but it truly is the best deal in town. The downside to this place is that they close early. Around 10PM. Another bonus about Rite Aid in general is that some of the brances have reciprocity with Kaiser, so you can get you Kaiser prescriptions filled here if you do the paperwork. Also, for those who unfortunately do not have insurance, if that can be verified, Rite Aid has a special program where you can basically get your meds for a co.pay. That means that a $100 prescription could cost you 10 bucks. Luckily I have Kaiser, but before I did, this Rite Aid program saved my family thousands. read more

I've been coming to this location since for at least 17 years, i remember coming here for ice cream after my parents took my sister and I to Chuck E. Cheese next door. I honestly only come here for the ice cream but I'll grab a few items since it's convenient, the store is always clean and well stocked. The staffing issue is a problem, never enough people working (have to meet that payroll right?) and the ones who do work there seem to hate life, that in itself is a pain but what really keeps me away is the fact that they ALWAYS have solicitors outside, I just want to get in and out I hate being bothered by pushy people to donate for this or sign this petition. It strikes me as odd when employees don't know where their own products are... so if you're looking for an item, try finding it yourself... because it'll take you probably just as long to find it, as it would be trying to ask an employee to show you where it's at... however, they are very friendly, and there's plenty of parking... if you are grabbing some snacks or different food items, be sure and check the expiration date (as I got some old trail mix..).. because old food is going to make you need to make another trip to Rite Aid for stomach meds later.. Everything in the store is overpriced and check this situation out... I received a $20 voucher from a company for a problem I experienced. It said redeemable at any retailer. First, the product I was going to buy was $12.99 on Rite Aid website, but when I got to the store it was $17.99. I asked one of the two girls working if they price match their own website and she gave some reasoning regarding sales tax that made no sense, and said no, they don't. So I decide to buy it anyway, take it to the register, the girl scans the $20 voucher I had and tells me they'll only honor $10. I pointed out it clearly says $20. She calls the manager girl over and she says the same thing. They rotated the computer screen and I saw the $10 limit showing up. Told her forget it and walked out. They won't even honor a manufacturer certificate that clearly states on it that they will be redeemed for the $20 if they send it in?? Is this even legal?? California is so over the top with legislation on everything under the sun, I'm shocked there isn't something that addresses this issue. Rite Aid went rogue on this one and lost my business as a result. Way to go guys! Most people probably know this, but these stores: Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens, etc, survive on their revenues from their pharmacies. I had a horrible experience at this store today. They had only one checker and a huge line. A second checker finally came, served one person and inexplicably helped a walk up customer requesting ice cream. Again, the line began to grow and so were customer frustrations. A woman in the line shouted out asking for another checker, to no avail. Apparently, Rite Aid has only 3 employees for the entire store. One on Lunch, one serving ice cream and another for check out. If this was not frustrating enough, when I finally reached the one cashier, I let him know how frustrated I was. Instead of apologizing, He immediately copped an attitude. I asked to speak to the manger and He said, "I am the Manager!" His badge didn't say manager? Hmmm. Well, anyway, I attempted to let this "Manager" know my frustration and instead of empathy from him, he got aggressive and said "DO YOU WANT TO BUY THIS OR NOT?" I said yes-just give me my change. Then, as He is taking my money and getting my change, he is staring me down hard which was not only aggressive but also offensive, so I called him out on it. He didn't like the fact that I challenged him for being aggressive with a customer so he decided to refuse to let me buy the batteries I came for. So there you have it. 1. I would rather go to the Rite Aid in Monrovia for RX because they don't have the same lackadaisical staff issue. I went here because it was late at night and I was nearby at Whole Foods and needed to make a stop. Among the items I bought was 1 bottle of Rite Aid brand cold medicine and it turned out I already had several at home. My experience at this Rite Aid ruined it for the rest and I will be switching where I get RX or OTC. 2. It's 2018: Target can look up a purchase by scanning the card you paid with and won't act like they can't to begin with unless you suggest it 3. It's 2018: people can look up corporate return policies on hand via smart phone - simply saying there's no returns so you do not have to do a return is unacceptable. Especially from what appeared to be the manager; she's the woman that is always talking about how young she looks for being a grandmother. She doesn't seem as lazy when it comes to talking about herself or taking up a customer's time (who is only "listening" out of politeness/social mores) to do so even while it's late at night and someone is clearly buying a "down with the sickness starter pack." She was so mad I didn't just accept her "no returns" at face value that she was shouting (3 Times) after the employee who did my return as I was leaving, "how much did you give her?" to make sure I never got a full refund. There was a line of 4 parties and she was ringing up as she was shouting this across the registers to her left. Like, chill - don't take it personal. Bottom line, Rite Aid is just an overpriced *convenience* store - nobody comes here unless it's convenient and they don't come here to hear you talking about yourself. So like, why the inconvenience? Also, raise your hand if you're shocked I was not talking about a lazy millennial. 4. It's 2018 and your return policy itself of unopened merchandise purchased hours ago simply cannot compete with other big brands such as Target. Being able to look up a receipt but only giving partial credit in the form of store credit - worst return policy. Now that I know, I will never go to another Rite Aid; I'd rather go to Target for supplies. 5. There is a "Rite Aid brand guarantee," but they will still only give you partial store credit without a physical receipt. People rarely keep receipts these days (Rite Aid knows this) and many merchants offer an e-receipt option; get with the times. 6. It's like a ghost town at the registers...you have to wave someone down usually...either that or... 7. There's 3 employees behind the counter and 1 register open...and a line of customers... 8. Everyone who works here is always very nice, and not in that fake customer service kind of way. I occasionally have to take my 96 year old grandma with dementia there and they are very patient with her, one of the pharmacy people even came out of their area to assist her with looking at band aids. Had a problem with my insurance not covering my medication but the pharmacist was constantly updating me about it and were very pleasant and patient with helping me resolve the issue. I've had a really bad experience with pharmacists before and they make it very nice to come get my meds :) read more

The pharmacy department is very inept. Two months in a row they didn't have my medication in stock but promised to order it and have it by a certain day. When I showed up to pick it up they made me wait to unpack their delivery. After waiting and waiting I was informed that the medication did not come in, again. They called and located the medication 20 minutes away. I arrived at the other Rite Aid and waited in line again. I had to wait and wait because the first store did not cancel the script in their computer system so they had to be called. The pharmacy manager needs to be retrained or replaced if they can't perform simple tasks that are required of them. read more

I really don't like rating a hard working business so low but this Rite Aid is FAR FROM A Hard Working Business. In fact, they don't seem to want your business at all. This location seems to have the most laziest employees and manager that I have ever seen in a drug store. I have had concerns with this location more than once. But here's what my last visit was like. I went in to buy some gift cards for graduations. I picked up 3 gift cards and stood in an line with 8 people in it. There was one employee at the register and one scooping ice cream. The customer at the register apparently was short 12 CENTS so he had to go to his car while we all waited. This held up the Whole line while he was gone. The cashier could have just cashed out the order and moved on to the rest of the line. The employee at the ice cream said to call someone. But nobody came. When I finally got to the register, there was a very small label sign on the credit card machine that said gift cards had to be paid by Cash! Really?? Who does this?? If I wanted to pay Cash I would have just put Cash in the Graduation Card rather than buy a gift card for a specific location. What third world country am I living in? And would it kill them to put a sign on the gift card rack instead of telling customers when they were checking out and wasting their time? Lesson Learned!!! GO TO CVS!!!!! They actually will take your credit card for purchases and they have a very nice staff that can problem solve!!!! Let me start with I love thrifty ice cream and enjoy taking my kids here. I have 4 children ages, 2,5,7, and 10. Today we decided to go nab some ice cream at this Rite Aid. Upon asking to order I was told I needed to pay prior to ordering the specific items. Ok sure, no problem. Then my kids asked for a cone. I was informed I could have one on the side. Ok sure I can respect that. Then I was told before he could dish ice cream we must all be 6 feet apart from each other. Excuse me? Maybe I heard this wrong. My 4 children and I who live in the same home, have to all stay 6 feet apart from each other to get our ice cream? I was informed that is correct and company policy. I find this unacceptable, authoritative, and completely unreasonable. I stand in a grocery line with my children and I stand in a restaurant line with my entire family. I was scheduled for the COVID vaccine on 3/16/2021 in the afternoon at the Riteaid pharmacy on 3745 East Foothill Blvd Pasadena CA. I was denied the vaccine because I have to provide proof my profession such as a paystub because they need to "scan it in." Frankly it makes no sense my personal information need to be scanned into the Riteaid system, but anyway, I did not bring any of these documents as I was told to only bring my government ID and my insurance card, which I did. After being denied of the vaccine, I did extensive research and found that the CDC has stated "Pharmacies will not require proof of age, occupation, or any other type of credentials; however, they will rely on self-attestation for validating group membership. This assures that no one will be turned away for lack of specific identification documents (e.g., driver's license) and eases the burden on participating pharmacies and individuals." I am now concerned my denial was based on my race or other discriminatory reasons. I believe Riteaid needs to provide better training for their staff who deal with the vaccine process. This employee appears to be misinformed of the right guidelines. read more
