Everything about the medication, from the label placement to the consistency shows me that it is of a much higher quality than what you would find at your typical chain pharmacy. He also took the time to explain to me how to use it and really made sure that I fully understood how to use the medication, which I really appreciate. We came here to get our flu and Covid booster. The pharmacy had a nice aesthetic. It was clean, minimalist, but inviting. Dr John, the pharmacist, was accommodating and really patient with my 4 year old daughter. We came in on a Saturday and it was superhero clinic day. He dressed up in a Spider-Man costume ready to give my daughter her flu shot. He had multiple characters Bandaids and was quick with injecting her. After speaking with him, I found him to be very caring. I would recommend taking a look at his website as his pharmacy offers a lot of services not offered by other commercial pharmacies. You can make an appointment to discuss medication changes after a hospitalization, help with using a new glucometers to check your blood sugars, or just to discuss your medications and how they can affect your health conditions. I really needed pharmacy that actually cared for their patient and took the time to make sure everything worked well for me. My old pharmacy never bothered to counsel me on my medication or help me find the most optimal treatment. They simply filled my prescription and sent me on my way. They'd also make me wait more than an hour just for 1 prescription! Since I was a kid, I had to take antibiotics a lot because I was prone to getting sick. They never told me I had to completely finish my medication and why it was important that I did so. So now I always have issues with my digestive health and so on. Super nice and clean pharmacy that's open during the pandemic. I've been here a couple of times and Dr. John has always been welcoming and informative with us. This is my now go-to spot for hand sanitizer and/or 75% isopropyl alcohol, esp because they are sold in various sizes including bulk! I dropped in today and learned that this pharmacy also offers program to help patients (who may be forgetful to take their medicine), free blister packaging and other creative ways to encourage patients to stay on track with their medications. I called to see if they would even deal with vet meds. Not only did they say they were willing to do it - they also worked with several local vets. Brace yourself, this is going to be one heck of a review. A LITTLE BACKGROUND ABOUT MY SITUATION: I suffer from a severe chronic condition that befriended the very core of the temple of my body. The pain, is unimaginable. It stomps throughout my body at any given time. I get the worst flare ups, that even norco does absolutely nothing for me. I've had multiple surgeries, and counting. The pain is ever present in my body, and silently seeps out from my eyes. This condition of mine, has no cure. I went to a new specialist and she recommended a compound type of medication which I have never tried before. She referred the prescription to a random pharmacy (NOT THIS PHARMACY), and they notified me it would be a while before I get it since it is specially made; and they quoted me close to $$$$ (on the expensive scale) for a quantity of 10! Which I didn't really mind since it will be a new medication that I'm willing to try, yet I told them to hold off on it till I figured things on my end. Fast forward to a few days ago, New Year's Eve to be exact. I had another aggressive flare up to where I started feeling the rapidness of my heartbeats multiplying, and my breaths were becoming somewhat shallow. I was in a dying-like pain. I contacted the random pharmacy (NOT THIS PHARMACY) my doctor initially sent the prescription to, and they didn't seem to have a sense of empathy towards my pained broken vocal chords. They said they wouldn't have it ready any time soon, to which I struggled with my reply saying, "I see"; and their reply was, "so, you want to place the order and we'll call you when it's ready?" I faintly replied, "no, thank you for your time". My sister, God bless her heart, took over for me and searched for other pharmacies that would be able to assist in getting this done for me. HERE IS THE ACTUAL REVIEW: The first pharmacy she called was the very pharmacy I'm writing this about. "Pacific Oak Compounding Pharmacy". A gentleman named JOHN answered her. She explained my situation, and I can honestly say, JOHN, the pharmacist, was and IS a God-sent. I didn't know people of angelic nature still (or ever) existed. He was trying so much to help by helping my sister find the nearest pharmacy that would be 24 hours (given that it was New Year's Eve). He took extra time out of his day to help a complete stranger who may not be a customer of his. As I laid in agony from pain, I realized, from the back and forth conversation, that my sister was talking to an Angel. With the little strength I had in me at that time, I signaled my sister to ask him if he can take my prescription instead of the other pharmacy. He gladly accepted and even offered to call them himself rather than having us call the other pharmacy to fax it over. I fought my agonizing pain, and built up enough strength to speak directly to him. His tone talking to me, was very kind. His voice was full of care and concern toward my situation. He offered to go in on the weekend (where I'm assuming he'd be closed), and start the process of my medication along side with other patient of his that need their meds right away. He offered to deliver it himself so I wouldn't need to go myself. He quoted me $_ for a quantity of 30 (vs. the previous pharmacy, $100+ for just 10). While I was on the phone with JOHN, I started to cry from his kindness... I have NEVER come across anyone in the health-care field with such heart. Few days later, JOHN calls me to notify me that my med is ready and that he will deliver it during a certain time. However, I was away from my phone, therefore, I missed his call. He called my sister to notify her instead, and all worked out. I returned his call, out of respect and to thank him for his immense kindness. When JOHN answered, he stated his worry that I may have been in the hospital since I didn't answer. This touched my heart in a way that I couldn't explain. Dr. JOHN never met me, yet due to his genuine kindness, he wanted to go far and beyond for a complete stranger, me. Although I wrote a whole novel-type review, yet I still find myself speechless. I've suffered with this condition throughout my existence, and I've had my fair-share of rude, impatient, unethical, bitter, and heartless individuals that call themselves nurses and doctors. I've cried more about this condition from the dismissive treatment I've gotten throughout the years more than I've cried from the physical pain itself. So, to find someone as kind-hearted as DR. JOHN, is beyond me... No way amazing people like that still exist... but they do, DR. JOHN IS A GENUINE SOUL! Glory be to God, Jesus Christ on the highest for allowing us to come across DR. JOHN. Dr. John truly goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. Our dog Maximus' heart medication has been out of stock at all the local and online pharmacies. Our vet recommended we contact a compounding pharmacy and Pacific Oak was highly recommended. After working with Dr. John, I can definitely see why. He was able to custom make Maximus' medication within a couple hours, in liquid form and chicken flavored. Maximus is extremely finicky with taking medication and this is a huge advantage. Hi!! I wanted to share a breath of fresh air with you guys... I visited my dad and noticed a giant blister pack of his sorted daily meds (diabetes) and asked him what he was doing, he said his pharmacy is checking up on him and making sure he doesn't take any conflicting medications etc. He's usually in a haze about what pill is used for what. I thought it was strange that a pharmacist would go to these lengths but today a good friend of mine was frustrated to death looking for an rx, she had tried Walgreens, rite aid, cvs, costco etc IN PERSON BTW because they refused to tell her over the phone if they had it or not. She was super angry by the end of the week and told me how she hates dealing with incompetent and rude people/pharmacists and how they were incredibly mean to her or just refused/couldn't help .
