Let me preface this by saying prior to the pandemic, Vizzini's was just that spot that I knew from various school dances in middle school. However, since moving back to the area during the pandemic, it's become my go to local spot for pizza, a cheesesteak, etc. A couple of things before my review of my most recent experience: 1) The prices of the food are decent for a smaller mom and pop chain and are in line with other spots in the area with a similar number of locations (Squisito, Bella Italia, Carini's, etc.). 2) I don't expect much from places like Vizzini's because it's a neighborhood pizza spot in suburban Maryland. As long as it's hot, fresh, and what I ordered, I'm fine. This isn't New York and therefore I know I'm not gonna be getting John's of Bleecker, so the scale on how I rate something like this place will be less picky. My most recent experience I ordered a chicken sub with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo and a side of fries. The fries were that perfect salty, crispy, skin on type of fry you fantasize about at baseball games. You know the ones. No complaints. I had also ordered a large birch beer -- something that you don't see at most restaurants -- but this was my first nitpick. I got a drink that was much smaller than advertised, so needless to say when it was delivered, I scratched my head a little bit. My biggest issue was with my sandwich: lots of chicken which was GREAT because some places skimp on protein around here. However, half the toppings were missing which again... kind of a hard thing to mess up on. I'm willing to give benefit of the doubt to a point, but that seemed off. All of that said though -- this last experience is kind of an outlier. Typically they do a great job of honoring requests like asking for ranch on the side. One time, my roommate wanted a side of nacho cheese but didn't see an option for it on her delivery app so she just asked for it and they gave her the hookup. That's the difference between a good mom and pop local spot and a bad one! Overall, really solid spot and I'm happy to have it in my rotation of local restaurants I plan on continuing to support. read more

1 star for the mozzarella sticks which seemed to be fresh out the fryer and hot. Which is super strange because in contrast, the pizza had clearly been left under a warmer for many hours. As tough and as flavorful as actual cardboard. All of the moisture from the sauce and cheese had seemingly evaporated under the lamp. Maybe its better fresh? They stink except for their pizza. They have a few decent appetizer items, but the prices for the small portions are outrageous. I have ordered delivery more frequently than carry out. You never know when the order is going to arrive. They always say 45 minutes, but it could arrive in 15 minutes or an hour. They don't have dine-in. I will never forget the incident around 3 years ago when I viewed their current menu and pricing online. I called in the order and was told it was going to be around $10 more than the menu stated. I cancelled the order and suggested that they should be reported to The Better Business Bureau. A few minutes later I received a nasty call from "one of the owners." Extremely argumentative. He went on about how great their ingredients are. I couldn't get it through his skull that it is not good business practice to advertise items at one price and charge a higher amount. New to the area, so first time trying this place out. Ordered a chicken cheese steak and the Vito, and both were delicious! The chicken cheese steak was the favorite, overflowing with meat and grilled veggies, and of course cheese. Not too salty yet flavorful. The Vito sun was also good and packed with meat! Definitely will be ordering again. Also this is during the COVID-19 crisis and staff were noticeably quick and professional, all wearing gloves and changed them after doing payment. After paying, the young worker handled the cash, closed the drawer, and went right to smooshing dough around with bare, unwashed hands. First i need to say they are all friendly and the pizza is decent from past experiences ...,,however Let me just say I can't believe the health dept has not shut them down! They answer phones and handle money, wipe their noses and sweat and proceed to knead pizza dough and make pizza. No gloves or hand washing or even hand sanitizer. My word, Southpark nailed there episode about Yelp Reviewers. This place is an excellent pizza and subs joint. Fresh dough, lots of quality cheese and toppings. They almost always beat the time it takes to get your food, and even the delivery folks are quality. Some of the negative comments kill me - you live 2 minutes away and whined about delivery? Walk, damn you! They have good specials to cover most appetites and can accommodate most requests, so don't hesitate to ask. Easily the best pizza in the Cape. I write this a someone who used to work in a fairly popular mom-and-pop pizza joint back in the day. The ingredients they use are good, to include Grande Cheese, which is some of the best in the business. The toppings offered are easily more diverse to include real bacon, green olives and some other more unique items as well. When they make the pizza the sauce and cheese are properly ratio-ed, the toppings have good distribution and the bottom has a nice brown to it. Seriously people, your pizza should "thunk" when you hit the bottom of it, not be like a sponge. The prices are ridiculously good. A large pizza is 16" here as opposed to 14" elsewhere and usually every day you can score a large cheese pizza on carry-out for only $7.99. The pizza has always been hot, correctly cooked and the kids that work there are usually pretty pleasant to deal with. Overall they're a solid choice for a quick pizza that won't break the bank and avoids the nasty chain places in the area. read more

The subs are decent as pizza place subs go, and the fries are great if they are fresh. The pizza is always greasy, but the kids like it (I do sop a lot of the greace off before they got to eat it though :) They seem to go through staff a lot, some are good but most are clueless. Vizzinis in CSC is a classic... my father loves this place. He would literally eat their pizza every day if that were acceptable... of course always stating "is this a pie, or what!?".... just like hes done for the past 2 decades. I've always experienced great customer service and hot, fresh food. They also do subs. My go-to is a BLT sub with provolone and mayo. I order from Vizzini's all the time. It's very hit or miss on stuff like fries and pizza. The pizza is good when the dough doesn't get the hard skin on it from sitting too long. If you've ever made pizza, you know what I'm talking about. Still, it's a lot cheaper than the chain delivery guys and usually better. If I'm getting delivery pizza in Arnold, Vizzini's is my go-to. The fries are fine as long as you're not getting the bottom of the basket that has sat there for a while. The subs are ok. Not amazing, not terrible. Avoid the cheesesteak if you're a cheesesteak fan...it's not very good. No better or worse than Pizza Bolis or Dominos. My biggest gripe with Vizzini's is that they can NEVER get my 2-liter order right. I guess Diet Coke = Coke there. I worked in pizza delivery during high school/college and this isn't hard to get right. This is not a bad review, but a critique of a place I order from all the time. I really only go here for the subs. The pizza is meh to me and if I'm gonna cheat and get pizza, there are other places to get it from. However for subs, it's amazing! If you are a little stingy when it comes to the amount of meat, make sure you order double meat! The rolls make these subs along with the fresh ingredients. Also make sure you get the fries fresh...amazing hot and fresh but not so much when they get cold. Throw some old bay in the bag and shake em around. Yum! I tried ordering from Vizzini's for the first time last night. I live 2 minutes from them and thought I'd give them a try. All I ordered was macaroni bites and a cannoli. It took an hour and 20 minutes for my food to be delivered which is unacceptable as I live so close to the location. After waiting that long for my food I was unimpressed and didn't care to tip. I politely thanked him for the food and he said thank you then he stood there expecting a tip. I said have a good night and he makes a nasty face and walks away and says extremely loud "THANK YOU" because he was pissed I didn't tip. I will never order from Vizzini's again. I'm so happy I didn't tip because the macaroni bites were so overdone they were inedible anyway! Overall, horrible experience. read more

I called to place a pick up order . I asked specifically how much extra toppings are. The girl taking my order informed me that there was no charge for toppings on a sub . I placed my order . Arrived at this location to find that my price of the sub had changed . I asked why did my price change , the employee informed me taxes were added . So I picked up a menu and showed them their own prices . They were stunned to learn their own prices ! Once they were caught giving me the wrong price they then tried to use the toppings as an excuse . I informed them that I had already inquired about the topping cost . At this point they were very mad and frustrated and giving me attitude . They lowered the price they were asking me to pay since I confronted them. Finally I paid and waited to receive my 10 cents change . Since the price had changed and not the price on the register they were lost as to doing simple math so they just closed the register and looked at me . I reminded them of my change . They asked me with a very frustrated attitude how much my change was . We ordered delivery STARVING after moving all day - just a pizza & salad. The pizza was greasy bordering inedible and they didn't bring me dressing for the salad, which ordinarily wouldn't have been a big seal if we hadn't just moved in our belongings. Philly cheesesteak is pretty solid ! I would rate a 4 alone for that. I am not a fan of their pizza the sauce has a very canned taste , and the crust flavoring / texture I am not a fan. This place is pretty good. We got a sausage, pepperoni, and onion pizza the other night and while it was greasy, it was still good. Mozz sticks were crispy and good too.
